Bonnie Louise Graves

Bonnie Graves, age 51 of Mena, died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at home. She was born on Thursday, September 29, 1960 to Robert Lee and Geneva Brown Hawthorne in Nashville, Arkansas.
Bonnie was a friend to everyone and enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Brandy and her many friends. She was very proud of her daughter and they attended Rich Mountain Community College together where Bonnie was in Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She was very proud of this accomplishment. She loved her cats and her dog. Bonnie enjoyed reading, listening to her music and really enjoyed going to The Kentucky Headhunters concerts. Bonnie worked 8 years at the Child Development Incorporated in Mena as Food Service Provider and enjoyed the work there very much, also receiving her 5 year Service Award. Bonnie was always thinking about getting her next tattoo. She was addicted to ink. She loved to read books and anything by Nora Roberts. She also liked designing and making jewelry.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her daughter, Brandy Beane of Mena; her significant other, Tommy "Bud" Moore of Mena; several aunts and uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Monday, October 31, 2011 at 5 P. M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena. Graveside services will be Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 5 P. M. in Mineral Springs, Arkansas, with Pastor Wayne Murphy officiating at Mineral Springs Cemetery
Russell E. Broomfield
Russell E. Broomfield of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life on Friday, October 21, 2011 in a Fort Smith, Arkansas hospital. He was born March 25, 1960 in Odessa, Texas to Lowell Broomfield and Sue (Sims-Broomfield) Watkins. He was 51 years 6 months and 26 days old.
Russell attended the Boles Freewill Baptist Church. His love for the outdoors was very evident. He loved to hunt and fish. Deer hunting was his passion, he hunted in Bow, Muzzle-loading and Rifle season. He lived and breathed for the day he could go to deer camp at his favorite spot at Forrester. Russell would tell deer hunting stories over and over again to his family so one day they could pass them on to Kylie and Jacob his grandchildren. He had a very special buddy that he loved very much, his dog, Bella. Above all he loved his children and grandchildren and extended family.
Those left to cherish the memory of Russell are his wife, Tamara of Waldron; two sons, Jason Broomfield of Mena, Arkansas and Matthew Broomfield and wife Jennifer of Waldron, Arkansas. Grandpa Russ will be greatly missed by grandchildren Kylie and Jacob Broomfield of Waldron, Arkansas. Russell is also survived by his mother Sue Watkins of Mena, Arkansas and one brother, Roger Broomfield and wife Meredith of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one nephew and two step-nephews as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Russell was preceded in death by his father, Lowell Broomfield and his step-father LJ Watkins.
Russell's funeral service will be held at 10:00 a. m. Monday, October 24, 2011 at Boles Freewill Baptist Church in Boles, Arkansas with Rev. Pat Ray Biggs officiating. Interment will follow in the Chant Cemetery
in Y-City, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
Russell's pallbearers will be Kyle Metcalf, Jeff Brewer, Ronnie Bruton, Russell Sims, Doug Sims and Russell Davis.
Russell's visitation will be Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 2:00 p. m. until 9:00 p. m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
John Earl Brown
August 22, 1955 - October 22, 2011
Mr. John Earl Brown age 56, a longtime resident of Mena, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 in the loving arms of his wife, Karla Parnell Brown and in the company of his mother in law and stepfather in law, Sybil and Loyd Shrum.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents Asten Ray Brown and Elvie Louis Summitt.

Heber Earl Shreve

Heber Earl Shreve, age 77 of Watson, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 at his home.
He was born October 26, 1933 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to the late Ruben Shreve and the late Pearl Andrews Shreve. Heber was married to Mary Manasco Shreve. He was a minister and founder of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and a friend to all who knew him.

George Ray Watson

George Ray Watson, age 65, of Watson, Oklahoma passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 in Fort Smith, Arkansas
He was born February 13, 1946 to the late Raymond Watson and late Laverne Carterby Watson. He was married to Daisy Bond Watson. George served his country as a soldier in the Vietnam War while in the United States Army. He was a fork lift operator by profession. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and a friend to all who knew him.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 25, 2011, 2:00 p. m. at the Buffalo Presbyterian Church in Watson, Oklahoma with Brother Nathan Watson officiating. Interment will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery
in Watson, Oklahoma under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Pallbearers will be Garrick Watson, Chad Wright, Travis Crosby, Tim Miller, Phillip Crosby, Joseph Wolf, Earnest Bond, and Silas Aaron Watson.
Albert Frances "Fritz" Mason

Mr. Albert “Fritz” Frances Mason, age 83, of Cove, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 in Cove.
He was born June 26, 1928 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Arthur Griffith Mason and the late Ilene Francis Winser Mason. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Sue Watkins. Fritz was a saw mill worker in the lumber industry and was also a veteran of the United States Army. He was active in the American Legion and was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend to all who knew him.

at Cove with Reverend Timmy Smedley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. military honors will be rendered by the Polk County veteran’s organizations and the U. S. Army. Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. at the funeral home.
Roger Dean Vekre

Mr. Roger Dean Vekre, age 76, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in Hot Springs.
He was born June 6, 1935 in Radcliffe, Iowa to the late Irvin Vekre and the late Lucille Tuttle Vekre. He was united in marriage to the late Barbara Ann Templeton Vekre. He was an elevator machinist by trade and was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Lucille Vekre, and his wife, Barbara Ann Templeton Vekre.
Mr. Vekre was sent for cremation under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. The family will hold a private memorial at a later time.
