Trudy Jordan age 50 of Panama City, Florida formally of Cove, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Glencove Nursing Center in Panama City. She was born on Sunday, July 10, 1960 to Ahlis “Big Boy” and Dorothy Pauline Loyd Jordan in Mena.
Trudy loved very deeply and loved spending time with her family. She loved to go to church and sing and be in all the Christmas plays. She enjoyed going to school and doing her homework papers. She enjoyed coloring and painting. She worked for 20 years at the PCDC here in Mena and was awarded a 20 year plaque for her dedicated service to PCDC. She was very proud of her achievements. She loved also to participate in the Special Olympics and won many ribbons. She never met a stranger and was a true joy to be around.
NOEL PITTS
Noel Pitts, age 62, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 in Board Camp.
He was born April 7, 1949 in Mena, Arkansas to the late Boyad Pitts and the late Pauline Burnett Pitts. He was an aircraft mechanic by profession for over 44 years, and if you ever worked on the Mena airport, you knew Noel! He was also a member of the Gold Prospector’s Association and the Lost Dutchman’s Association. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Boyad and Pauline Pitts.
Noel was sent for cremation under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. A memorial service will be announced at a later time.
Dorothy M. Stevens
(September 15, 1920 - April 7, 2011)
Dorothy M. Stevens, age 90, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 in Mena.
She was born September 15, 1920 in Mena, Arkansas to the late James Edmon Harrison and the late Maggie Pearl Cagle Harrison. She was united in marriage to the late W. Edgar Stevens. She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Maggie Harrison, by her husband Edgar Stevens, and by 2 children, James Stevens and Pauline Moody.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 10:00 a. m. at the Beasley-Wood Chapel with Jim Moody, Randy Lindsey, and Mike Parrett officiating. Interment follows in Cherry Hill Cemetery
under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
A visitation for family and friends will be Friday evening, April 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Randy Lindsey, Mike Parrett, David Stevens, Terry Terrell, James Lunsford, and Lloyd Conduff. Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Nelson, Jason Chism, Jett Stevens, and Taylor Lunsford.
Montie L. Beckwith

Montie L. Beckwith, age 53, of Mena, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011 in Mena.
He was born October 1, 1957 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to the late Alban W. Beckwith and Joyce Cobb Beckwith. He was united in marriage to Petra Hicks. Mr. Beckwith was formerly employed by Southern Disposal. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alban Beckwith and his brother, Tony Beckwith.
A memorial service will be Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 10:00 a. m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with President David P. Alford officiating. Mr. Beckwith will be sent for cremation under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
Elizabeth B. (Lizzie) Gillean
(August 20, 1915 - April 5, 2011)
Elizabeth B. (Lizzie) Gillean, age 95 years and 7 months, of Mena, Arkansas, died Tuesday, April 5th, 2011 at Mena Manor Nursing Home.
She was born August 20, 1915 to Alfred and Mattie Wilhite at Cherry Hill, Arkansas. She was married to Arlie Gillean for 63 years. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed working outside in her flowers and making a garden as long as her health permitted her to do so. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by:
2 Daughters: Loretta Lein of Shady, Arkansas Arnetha Kanady and husband John of Shawnee, Oklahoma
2 Sons: Lonnie Gillean and wife Wanda of Jonesbourgh, Tennessee Leon Gillean and wife Randi of Phoenix, Arizona
12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Gillean, her parents, Alfred and Mattie Wilhite, 2 brothers, Ernest Wilhite and A. V. “Pete” Wilhite, 2 sisters, Addie Gortemiller and Mildred Wilhite and a son-in-law, Billy Lein.
Graveside services will be April 8, 2011 at 2:00 p. m. at Pine Ridge Cemetery
with Brother Dendin Guinn officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.
James Marvin Howard
(January 19, 1929-May 28, 2011)
James Marvin Howard age 82 of Hatfield died Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Mena Manor Nursing. He was born on Saturday, January 19, 1929 to Henry Harold and Nannie Bell Clegg Howard in Eldorado, Oklahoma.
Jim served in the United States Navy and served honorably for 6 years from 1946 to 1952. He was stationed in San Diego and served in the Philippines and Japan. He loved his country and was very politically, minded person. In 1981, Jim graduated from the Police Academy in Camden, being the oldest to have graduated from the academy. He served as a police officer in Grannis, for several years. His hobbies included gardening and loved to bet on the horse races. He worked as a machinist for many years, working for Tyce Engineering, Roar in California and Boeing in Wichita, Kansas. Jim accepted the Lord as his Savior in December of 2008 and attended Bethel Baptist Church for awhile before his illness kept him from going. Although a young Christian in time, he had been an avid reader of the Bible, often sharing God’s Word with family and friends. After his salvation, he was eager to witness what the Lord had done for him, even to the week of his passing, sharing the nursing staff and visitors that came to see him. Jim will be missed by all who knew him.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mark Howard, one grandson, Derrick Howard, one great grandson, Brendan Goss, one brother Robert Howard and two sisters, Lawana Howard and Bonnie Dunagan.
He is survived by five sons, Robert Howard of San Diego, California, James Howard Jr. of National City, California, James Michael Howard and wife Juanita of Hatfield, Gary Howard of Hatfield, and Mark Howard of Hatifeld; four daughters, Sharon Blackwell and husband Robert of Cherry Hill, Teresa Merrill and husband Raymond of Lewisville, Texas, Lawana Callahan and husband Michael of Hatfield and Shelia Howard King and husband Ken of Leeds, Utah; one brother, Bill Howard of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; half brother, Dale Howard of Hatfield; two sisters, Maudie Dilbeck of Washington and Galena Wilcox of Mena; seventeen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 11:00 A. M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Keith Rose officiating. A private family burial will follow at the Six Mile Cemetery
in Hatfield.
Arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena.

TINA MARIE STROUD
Tina Marie Stroud, age 38, of Oden, Arkansas formerly of Mena, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 at her home.
She was born July 03, 1972 in Granite City, Illinois to the late John Ballentine and late Gloria Ballentine Kilcollins. Tina worked for Tyson in the Poultry industry. She was a loving mother, sister and friend to all who knew her and loved her.
She is survived by:

SCOTT MICHAEL CREEL
November 18, 1981 - May 20, 2011
Scott Michael Creel age 29 of Hatfield passed away Friday, May 20, 2011 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on Wednesday, November 18, 1981 to Tracy Creel and Kelly Pittman in Peoria, Illinois.
Scott was at peace at who he was and enjoyed life by spending time with his family and friends. His life was his son Brody. He was the most important person to him. Scott also was an accomplished guitar player and loved to play the Blues, Country and Rock music. Scott was working towards getting his electrical license and was working in Dallas with a company there. He was very satisfied with his work and was looking forward to his future. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his brother Mark Creel.
Survivors include his father and step mother, Tracy and Shelly Creel of Hatfield; his mother, Kelly Pittman of Houston, Texas; one son Brody Creel of Hatfield, Arkansas; two brothers, Austin McCulley of Hatfield, Arkansas and Ty Beckwith of Wickes, Arkansas; one sister Brittany Fair of Smithville, Oklahoma; two nephews, Charles and Hunter Creel and one niece Chelsea Creel all of Wickes; several aunts and uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service in Scott’s memory will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 6:00 P. M. at the Hall Funeral Service Chapel in Mena with Victor Anglin officiating.
