Valentine Barron, infant son of Thomas Abundes and Edna Barron of DeQueen, Arkansas, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 in Mena.
He is survived by:

Sister: Crystal Perez of DeQueen, Arkansas Brother: Brandon Lee Perez of DeQueen, Arkansas
Aunt and Uncle: Maria and Jose Hernandez of DeQueen, Arkansas
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Nora Barron and his maternal grandfather, Nicholas Abila.
Valentine was sent for cremation under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. No services have been scheduled at this time.
Lois Johnston
(December 4, 1915 - February 14, 2011)
Mrs. Lois Johnston, age 95, of Mt. Ida, Arkansas, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 in Mt. Ida.
She was born December 4, 1915 in Cherry Hill, Arkansas to the late John Holmes and the late Maneurvia Mayes Holmes.
She was united in marriage to the late Carl Johnston until his passing.
Lois helped run a small retail store in Octavia, Oklahoma with her husband and was a loving homemaker and a friend all who knew her.
A private interment in Oklahoma will be entrusted to the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home with Brother Richard Myhand overseeing.
Ina Marie Herrmann
(January 15, 1935 - February 13, 2011)
Ina Marie Herrmann age 76 of Mena died Sunday, February 13, 2011 in Pampa, Texas.
She was born on Tuesday, January 15, 1935 to Joseph and Ina Celesta Chrisman Saladin in Sulphur Springs, Arkansas.
She enjoyed the many things in life, like sewing, quilting and working in her flower beds and garden.
She also loved to listen to her wind chimes. She had several around in her gardens and on her front porch.
She was a member of the Home Extension and was of the Baptist Faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one son Larry Pyle and one granddaughter Lisa Zibel.
Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Lumpkin and her husband Jerry of Pampa, Texas; one brother, Charles Saladin of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, Mary Warner of Argyle, Georgia, Lena Haggard of Siloam Springs and Alice Alexander of Gravette; one grandson, Ray Crone of Las Vegas, Nevada; seven great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 10:00 A. M. at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery
in Cove.
Visitation will be Friday, February 18, 2011 from 6-8 P. M. at the Hall Funeral Service Chapel in Mena.
Thelma Onita Calliham

Thelma Onita Calliham of Mena, formerly of Watson, Oklahoma passed away Friday, February 11, 2011 in Mena.
She was born March 14, 1927 in Dallas, Texas to the late Thomas Hitt and the late Mary Burkett Hitt.
She was united in marriage to the late Charles Calliham.
Mrs. Calliham was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Hitt, her husband, Charles Calliham, her son, Charles Edward Calliham, two grandchildren, Onita Pitman and Joshua Clark and her sister, Doris Redd.
A memorial service will be Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 2:00 p. m. at the Fellowship Church of God in Mena. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
Vonetha Correne Smith
(July 4, 1940 - February 10, 2011)
Vonetha Correne Smith age 70 Mena went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at her home in Mena. She was born to Eugene Debs and Bessie Ellar Turner McNutt on Thursday, July 4, 1940 at Cove, Arkansas.
She was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and wife. She loved her grandchildren and was affectionately referred to as Granny-Great by them. She was known to have several brag books and pictures that she loved to share with others. She enjoyed reading, listening to Christian music and watching TV mysteries with Murder She Wrote and In the Heat of the Night being some of her favorites. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member at Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Mena. She belonged to the Women’s Missionary Association, assisted in teaching the young children and the nursery.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one great granddaughter, Bethanie Nichole Frost.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Paul Smith of the home; two sons, Kenneth “Pete” Smith and wife Sharon of Mena and Michael Smith of Mena; one daughter Debbie Rogers and her husband Larry of Mena; one brother Robert McNutt of Louisa, West Virginia; one sister Kathy Brazeal of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three grandchildren Eve Bagwell and Husband Tim of Adair, Oklahoma, Stacy Frost and her husband Sam of Mena and Jamie Smith and wife Jana of Mena; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Service will be held Monday, February 14, 2011 at 2:00 P. M. at the Faith Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Dardanelle Townsley officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery
in Cove under the direction of Hall Funeral Service in Mena. Visitation will be Sunday, February 13, 2011 from 6-8 P. M. at the Hall Funeral Service Chapel.

Janis Coleen Lewis

Mrs. Janis Coleen Lewis, known as “Aunt Willie”, of Largo, Florida, formerly of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in Largo.
She was born July 15, 1925 in Racine, Wisconsin, to the late Lester S. Pfost and the late Gathel J. Pfost. She was united in marriage to William T. Lewis, Jr. know as “Uncle Willie”. Janis loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and her friends. She loved those she was surrounded by in life as a homemaker, mother, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 2:00 p. m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park with Brother Charles Hebert officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening, February 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. at the funeral home.

Annie McBride, age 97, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in Mena.
She was born February 17, 1913 in Mountain Fork, Arkansas to the late Armon Peters and the late Beulah Smith Peters. She was united in marriage to George N. McBride. Annie worked as a clerk for Hampton Bakery for many years and was the last Charter Member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Mena. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, great-great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
She is survived by:

She was preceded in death by her parents, Armon and Beulah Peters, her husband George McBride, 3 brothers, Benny, Lester, and Clarence Peters, a daughter, Lucille Davis, a son, Leon McBride, a grandson, Dennis Jones, and a great-great-grandson, Dennis Kirk.
Funeral services will be Monday, February 14, 2011 at 10:00 a. m. at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Mena with Brother Donnie Jewell and Brother Dardanelle Townsley officiating. Interment will follow in Big Cedar Cemetery
at Big Cedar, Oklahoma under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be Sunday afternoon, February 13th from 4:00 to 6:00 p. m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dewayne Boyd, Darrell Smallwood, Derreck Smallwood, Christopher Davy, Bobby Davis, and Roger Davis.

Vivian Foster Muldoon, age 85, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in Mena.
She was born October 9, 1925 in Opal, Arkansas to the late Tom Holman and the late Leora Bates Holman. She was a factory worker and was of the Catholic faith. Vivian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.

A mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 14, 2011 at 2:00 p. m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Father Norbert Rappold as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery
under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.
Pallbearers will be Sidney Simpson, Randy Rainwater, Terry Paul Holman, Drew Foster, Joe Foster, and Neal Foster. Honorary pallbearers are Bill McMillan, Herman Jansen, Perry Dean Roberson, and Lyle Holman.
