Francis Herring
FORT SMITH, Ark. - Francis R.V. Herring, 71, formerly of Stuttgart, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Sparks Regional Medical Center.
Frank was born July 27, 1938, in Brummitt to R.V. Herring and Hattie Lee Snyder Herring Erstine. He had been employed as a truck driver for the City of Stuttgart.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles Herring; a brother, Elmer Herring; and sister, Linda Rankin.
Survivors are son, Jeffery Herring and wife Melissa of Fort Smith; daughter, Misty Herring of Coy; eight brothers, Robert Herring and Troy Herring of Stuttgart, Larry Herring of Benton, Danny Herring of Boswell, Okla., Terry Herring, Richard Herring, David Herring and Michael Herring of Cabot and Jerry Herring of Lubbock, Texas; five sisters, Mary Ellen Stringer of Sherwood, Debbie Felts and Beck White of Stuttgart, Tammy Treadway of Cabot and Kathy Dowdy of Jonesboro; grandson, Jacob Herring; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Lone Tree Cemetery
chapel with visitation one hour before service time.
Debra Farmer Shelton
Debbie Farmer Shelton, 56, went to be with God her Father and Jesus Christ her Savior on November 22, 2009.
She is survived by her husband, Keith; daughter, Leigh Esquivel and Paul; father, Leon Farmer; mother, Kathryn Farmer; sister, Celia McCorkindale and Matt; brother, Cliff Farmer; mother-in-law, Mary Shelton; nieces, Megan McCorkindale and Allison Farmer; and nephews, Joshua McCorkindale, Brad Farmer, Todd Shelton and Laurie, Bryan Shelton and Danika, Stephen Shelton and Layne Shelton.
My Momma loved her flowers, hummingbirds, animals and fishing. Debbie was a member of Hunters Chapel United Methodist Church in Casscoe. Debbie was a teller at Farmers and Merchants Bank of Stuttgart for 37 years. My momma had a host of friends that will never be forgotten.
Graveside services will be at Hunters Chapel in Casscoe on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 10 a.m. with Bro. Ted Edmondson officiating.
Memorials are requested to be made to Hunters Chapel United Methodist Church.
The family will be at 173 Goldman Loop in Stuttgart.
Nora Lillian "Lil" Glover
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Nora Lillian Drye Glover, 61, died Monday, November 23, 2009, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 20, 1948 in the community of Bayou Meto, Arkansas, to Jimmie and Nora VanCleave Drye. She was a member of First Baptist Church at Hazen.
Lil loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Her love for children and others flowed through her hands into the many homemade gifts she has created through the years. She also loved to fish and visit with family and friends.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Tregler.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jon Massey of Heber Springs and Dean Massey of Russellville; her mother, Nora Drye of Rison; five brothers, Jimmie Drye Jr. of Pine Bluff and Tom, Luther, Shane and Dwayne Drye, all of Rison; sister, Katherine “Kit” Bowers of Russellville; three grandchildren, Jordan, Levi and Jacob Massey; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services, officiated by her nephew, the Rev. Steve Drye, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bayou Meto Cemetery. Friends and family will gather at the church following the ceremony.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Turpin Funeral Home in Stuttgart.
Charles Glenn "Duke" Wilson
HUMNOKE, Ark. – Charles Glenn “Duke” Wilson, 64, died Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock.
Mr. Wilson was born Aug. 27, 1945, in Humnoke to Charles M. and Birttrue Tew Wilson. He was employed at Producer’s Rice Mill in the maintenance department and member of Pentecostal Church of God in Humnoke.
His mother and two brothers, Bobby Wayne Wilson and Roger Dale Wilson, preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife Carolyn Guthrie Wilson; daughter, Teresa Bogy of Humphrey; two sons, Charles G. Wilson Jr. of Humnoke and Tommy Wilson of Stuttgart; brother, Benny Wilson of Humnoke; four sisters, Charlann Davenport of Woodlawn, Ark., Betty Billings of Sherwood, Erma Evans of Maumelle and Patsy Brewer of Scott; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Timothy Waterman, are 2 p.m. Friday at Pentecostal Church of God with burial following in Flynn Cemetery.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Friday at Turpin Funeral Home.
Rose Mary Waggoner
Rose Mary Waggoner, 79, died November 28, 2009, in her home in Stuttgart.
She was born April 21, 1930, in Fairmont and her parents were Harry and Gertrude Wittenauer. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Holy Rosary Altar Society, the American Legion Auxiliary and Grand Prairie Chapter D.A.R. She served as board member of KAIROS Prison Ministry and was a certified religious assistant for the Arkansas Department of Corrections. She taught bridge for 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William “Muggins” Wittenauer.
Survivors include her husband Alfred R. Waggoner, married in 1951; her children Charles Waggoner of Dover, Delaware, James Robert Waggoner of Stuttgart, Martha Ellen (Murphy) Waggoner of Indianola, Iowa, and Barbara Waggoner of Fairbanks, Alaska; cousin Mildred Milliken of DeWitt; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Stuttgart.

Teresa F. Morris
Teresa F. Morris, 94, of Stuttgart, widow of Clyde Morris, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, at Crestpark of Stuttgart.
Mrs. Morris was born Oct. 15, 1915, in Stuttgart to Henry George Fischer and Christiana Kulhmeier Fischer. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, John, Henry, George, Louis, Steve, Edward, Lawrence and Joe Fischer; and sisters, Mary Grantham and Josephine Kulhmeier.
Survivors are two sons, Pete Morris and wife Betty and Charlie Morris of Stuttgart; three daughters, Laverne Patterson, Betty Burns and Nita Roberts of Stuttgart; one sister, Freida Ragan of Little Rock; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Rosary service will be 7 p.m. Monday at Turpin Funeral Home with visitation from 6-7 pm. Mass of Christian burial, officiated by Monsignor Jack Harris, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with burial at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery
by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.

Mary Robnett Bessee
Mary Robnett Bessee, granddaughter of the Rev. Adam Buerkle and Col. Robert Crockett, passed away on Dec. 5, 2009, at the age of 93.
Mary, known as “Mimi” by those who loved her, was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed rooting for the Hogs.
She enjoyed fishing and going to the races in Hot Springs. Mimi had a wry sense of humor and a wit that would weaken the most stoic person.
She was deeply loved and honored by her family and friends.
Mimi was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Buerkle and Guy Crockett; her brothers, Edwin and Worden; her first husband, Joseph J. Robnett; and her late husband, Harold Bessee.
Mimi is survived by her son, Robert Robnett of Stuttgart; three grandchildren, Rebecca Robnett of Little Rock, Anna Robnett of Little Rock and Arain Robnett of Stuttgart; and four great-grandsons, Enzo Robnett Sandolval, Tory Williams, and Aydan and Avery Robnett.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery
by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Turpin Funeral Home.
