Irma Jean Boyd

Irma Jean Boyd, age 71, of Austin, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord, May 27, 2006. She was born July 2, 1934, to the late Russell Edison Davis and Ila Davis Johnson. She was a member of Austin Station Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She served as Acting Mayor of Austin, City Recorder and served on Austin City Council. She was the Editor of the Austin News for the Cabot Star Herald for many years. She was a member of the Nail Benders for Jesus and Grannies On The Go. She was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her father, Russell Davis and brother Leland Davis. She is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Kenneth L. Boyd; two sons, Benjamin Boyd of Mississippi, Kenny Boyd of Austin; three daughters, Marilyn Trammell of Mt. View, Carolyn Oakes of Ward and Vickie Harmon of Austin; her mother, Ila Johnson of Beebe; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Davis of Vilonia and Gary Davis of Beebe; three sisters, Laveda Freeman and Rachel Campbell, both of Beebe, and Deb McCormack of Little Rock.

Family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral was 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at Austin Station Baptist Church, with burial in Sylvania Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Rebsamen Home Health, 1400 Braden St., Jacksonville, AR 72076, Arkansas Hospice, 5600 West 12th St., Little Rock, AR 72204, or Austin Station Baptist Church, P.O. Box 130, Austin, AR 72007.

Madge M. Simpson

Madge Marie Simpson, 68, of Lonoke, died May 19, 2006.

She is survived by her husband, William; sons, Randy and Gary of Texas; daughter, Becky; brother, Robert Hearne; sister, Carolyn; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held May 26 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel in Sherwood.

Interment was in Rest Hills Memorial Park.

John Jackson, Sr.

John Henry Jackson, Sr., 92, of North Little Rock, died May 28, 2006. John was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Trinity Methodist Church on Lynch Drive. He attended the Nazarene Church on Hwy. 107.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Jackson of Jacksonville; son, John Jackson Jr., of Cabot; stepdaughter, Beverly Cole of Jacksonville; two grandsons; and sister, Alcidean Liles of Beebe.

Family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Thurs., June 1, at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Fri., June 2, at Westbrook Funeral Home with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.

Troy O’Neil Pearle

Troy O’Neil Pearle, 94, of Cabot died Saturday, May 27, 2006. He was born February 18, 1912 in Cabot to the late Horace and Mary Emma Holt Pearle. Mr. Pearle was a member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and a United States Army veteran.

Mr. Pearle was preceded in death by two loving wives, Daisy Pearle and Dollie Pearle; a brother, Fred Pearle; two sisters, Lola Pearle and Mae Luker as well as one step-son, Gene Michau.

Mr. Pearle is survived by a son, Rob Pearle of Las Vegas, Nevada and two daughters, Patricia Smith and her husband Chet of Mountain Home and Bonita Stocks of Cabot as well as a daughter-in-law Jean Michau of Bryant. Eight grandchildren; Lisa, Greg, Stephen, Tiffany, Neal, Diane, Shannon and Samantha and eight great-grandchildren; Sammy, Deanna, Jessica, Jennifer, Jordan, Colton, Baylee, Brayden and Connor as well as three brothers; Owen of Charleston, North Carolina, Jack of Jacksonville and H.B. of Beedeville and one sister, Lucille Harris of Conway and many nieces, nephews and friends also survive Mr. Pearle.

The family received friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral service was Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery under the direction of Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816.

Lois Rinehart

Lois Rinehart, 92, of Austin, died May 21, 2006. She was a member of the Vandervoort Baptist Church for 66 years and attended Marshall Road Baptist while in the Cabot and Jacksonville area.
Surviving her are daughters, Rue Rinehart of Mena, Shirley Hensley; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wed., May 24, at the Vandervoort Baptist Church with interment following at Witherspoon Cemetery in Vandervoort. Arrangements under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.

Andrew Little

Andrew Lawton Little, 88, of Aplin, died May 24, 2006.

He was a Pearl Harbor survivor and a World War II Navy veteran. He retired in 1980 after serving as Perry County Tax Assessor. He was a member of Perryville Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Floy Jean Clayton Little; daughter, Andrea Jean Little Bradford of Aplin; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Bruce Little of Conway; and sisters, Clete Eubanks of Adona, and Nellie Fielder of Cabot.

Funeral services were held May 27 at Perryville Church of Christ. Burial was in the Smyers Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville.

Corene Wiggins

Corene Wiggins, age 91, of Fort Smith, died Saturday, May 20, 2006. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church of Fort Smith.

She is survived by three daughters, Susie Flake of Fort Smith, Kay Williams of Kansas City, Mo., and Sarah Hagge of Cabot; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral service was Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at First Christian Church in Fort Smith with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Fentress Mortuary
.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 3600 Free Ferry Road, Fort Smith, Ark 72903.

Troy Nathaniel Hall

Troy Nathaniel Hall, of Ward, died May 23, 2006.

Survivors include his parents, Nathan Hall IV and Brandy Michelle Nunnally; sisters, Sarah Nunnally and Tristen Hall; brother, Logan Nunnally; grandparents, Nathan Hall III of Sherwood, Wade and Kathy George of Greenbrier and Lisa Gentry of Cabot; great-grandparents, Curtis and Una George of Jacksonville and Buddy and Virginia Hall of DeWitt; and great-great-grandmother, Monteen Clements of Jacksonville.

A graveside funeral service was held May 26 at Harmony Cemetery in Faulkner County. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.

Claribel R. Finch

Claribel Roberts Finch, 83, of Sherwood, died May 28, 2006. She was a member of the Sylvan Hills Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Oscar Finch; son, Keith Finch of North Little Rock; daughter, Kathy Finch of Dallas, TX; one granddaughter; and sister, Lucille Bowden of Lonoke.

Funeral services were held May 30 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home Chapel in North Little Rock. Memorial donations may be made to Southern Christian Home, 100 West Harding Street, Morrilton, Ark. 72110, Childrens Home of Paragould, 5515 Old Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450, or Arkansas Hospice, 5600 West 12th Street, Little Rock, AR 72204.

Dickie Allen

Dickie Allen, 57, of Morrilton, died May 24, 2006. He was a former truck driver and his religious belief was Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Allen of Morrilton; son, Dickie Lee Allen of Morrilton; daughter, Monica Allen of Morrilton; brothers, Rickie Allen of Mississippi, Dennis Allen of Cabot, and Tommy Allen of Jacksonville; sister, Emolene Corley of Mississippi; step-sister, Vivian Meins of DeWitt; and step-brother, Bobbie Manis of Springdale.

A memorial service will be held Sat., June 3, at 2 p.m., at the Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home in Morrilton with Bro. Danny Ward officiating. Local arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.

David M. Phillips

David M. Phillips, 61, of Lonoke, died May 25, 2006. He was an electrician for 27 years with IBEW Local 516 at Jonesboro.

He is survived by his daughters, Connie Ann Halbrook of Little Rock and Kim Phillips of Gravel Ridge; sisters, Sandra Crowe of Clinton, MS, Lenora Johnson of Beebe and Mary Cunningham of Lonoke; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held May 28 at Westbrook Funeral Home with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Beebe. Arrangements by Westbrook Funeral Home.

Ollie Gene Fisher

Ollie Gene (Finley) Fisher, 60, of Sherwood, died May 27, 2006.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice Vasquez of Sherwood; son, Bobby Fisher of Sherwood; brothers, Johnny Finley of Jacksonville and Charles Finley of Cabot; sisters, Jessie “Sis” Davis of North Little Rock, Helen Finley of Conway and Martha Hancock of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Wed., May 31, at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Grissard Cemetery in El Paso.

Charles M. Davis

Charles Michael Davis, 37, of Austin, died May 26, 2006. He graduated from Cabot High School in 1987. Charles was manager at Knight’s Grocery in Cabot.

He is survived by his wife, Carla Gayle Munnerlyn Davis; children, Katy Lee Ann and Jacob Andrew Gunter of Olive Branch, MS; and mother, Mary Tom Davis.

Funeral services were held May 29 at New Horizon Baptist Church located on Hwy. 31N Ward. Interment followed at Old Austin Cemetery.
