Joe Dale Cochran, 65, of Prairieville, LA, died May 5, 2006.
He is survived by his sons, Larry Logan, of Redfield and Joe Dale Cochran, Jr., of Lake Providence, LA; daughter, Theresa Walton, of Pine Bluff; sister, Dorothy Awbrey, of Sherwood; brothers, David of Lonoke and Darrell Tony Cochran of Jacksonville; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Fri., May 12, at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Arkansas Memorial Gardens.
Ethel Marie White
Ethel Marie White, 80, of Cabot, died May 10, 2006. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Jacksonville for over 30 years.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Walter E. White; son, Michael E. White of Little Rock; daughter, Beverly McClure of North Little Rock; brother, Hubert Ramsey of Cabot; five granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 12 at Bible Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Interment followed at Pine Crest Cemetery
in Collegeville.
Arrangements were by Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth.
Carrol Dean Acre
Carrol Dean Acre, 52, of Greenbrier, died May 11, 2006.
She worked for Maybelline for 20 years, was a homemaker and member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Guy.
Survivors include her husband, Carrell D. Acre of Greenbrier; father, Earnest Bradford of Cabot; stepson, Brian Acre of El Dorado; sisters, Judy Cossey of Cabot and Vickie Zajac of Morgan; and brother, Allen Bradford of Cabot.
Funeral services were held May 13 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Interment followed at Copperas Springs Cemetery
in Guy.
James Arlie Smith
James Arlie “Cotton” Smith, 63, of Carlisle, died May 12, 2006.
Survivors include his daughters, Kristin Wrigley, Amanda Bullock; son, James H. Smith; sister, Zelda Johnson; brothers, Clifton Smith, Lloyd Smith, and C.R. Smith; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 15 at Des Arc High School Eagle Field with burial in Sandhill Cemetery
by Garth Funeral Home.
David Wayne Martin
David Wayne Martin, 56, of England, died May 10, 2006. He was a member of Roberson Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother, Sarah Radcliff Martin; son, John Martin of England; daughters, Sarah Martin Miller of England and Cheryl Martin of Leola; brothers, Charles Martin of Lonoke, and Dwight Martin of England; sister, Deborah Martin of England; and one grandchild.
Services were held May 13 at Roller-England Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Keo Cemetery
in Keo.
Shaneda N. Ricks
Shaneda Nycole “Nykky” Ricks, 27, of Little Rock, died May 10, 2006. She was a 1997 graduate of Parkview High School. She was attending Pulaski Tech and was employed by the American Red Cross and a member of the Community of Christians Church.
Survivors include her father, David Ricks, Jr.; mother, Veda Cunningham; children, Labrian, Lasavian and Lexa Phillips; brothers, Markel, and Karlin Ricks, of Little Rock, and David Ricks III of Mesquite, TX; sister, Dawana Ricks of Little Rock; grandfather, Vernon Cunningham of Lonoke; grandmothers, Naomi Cunningham and Betty L. Hollingsworth, both of Little Rock.
Funeral services will be held on Sat., May 20, at 1 p.m. at Christway Missionary Baptist Church, 4324 Potter St. Family hour will be Fri., May 19, from 7-8 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are by J. Walton-Duckett Funeral Home, 2900 W. 12th St., (501) 666-2900.
Naomi F. Billingsley
Naomi Fatrell Billingsley, 84, of Palestine, died April 14, 2006. She was a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic Tabernacle Church.
She is survived by her sons, John Billingsley of Cabot and Michael Billingslev of Hernando, MS; daughters, Ernestine Betts of Augusta, Sue Parsley of Palestine, Nancy Ballard of Conway, and Peggy Ford of Colt; sister, Joyce Jones of Gulfport, MS; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 2 p.m., Wed., May 17, with burial in Bell Cemetery.
Wendy Fox Griffith
Wendy Carolyn Fox Griffith, 31, died May 9, 2006. She was a 1993 graduate of Cabot High School and a 1997 graduate of Hendrix College. She was employed by Stephens, Inc.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Lee Griffith; son, Weston Ford Griffith; parents, John M. Fox and Sharon Thompson Clark; and sister, Melanie Fox.
Visitation was Wed., May 10. Funeral services were Thurs., May 11, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Chapel. Interment was at Hestir Cemetery, Fairview Road, in Lonoke.

Hazel O. Hawks
Hazel Owens Hawks, 93, Lenexa, KS, died April 18, 2006.
Funeral services were April 22 at Parter Funeral Home, Lenexa. Graveside services at Holton Cemeter, Holton, KS.
Hazel was born October 23, 1912, at Wattensaw.
Survivors include a son, daughter, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a sister, Christine Owens Cross of Birmingham, MI.
She was a 1935 graduate of UCA with a degree in education, receiving a master’s degree in Guidance Counseling from University of Kansas. Retired teaching in 1975.
Wrote and published a book in 1986, “Wattensaw Revisited,” which is in several local libraries.
She was a member of the Overland Park Christian Church.
Juanita S. Wood
Juanita S. Wood, 86, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2006.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Amy Sisson and her husband, Fred H. Wood.
She is survived by her son, Fred A. Wood and his wife Nancy and daughter, Betty Schelle and husband Bob; sisters Amy Lee Bob of San Antonio, Texas and Margaret Elizabeth Blaylock of Morrilton; grandchildren Lisa Gallogly, Fred A. Wood II, Lara Wood, Jimmy Schelle, Lori Moix and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Friday, May 19. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Cabot. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 18 at Cabot Moore’s Funeral Home.
Mattie T. Hammett
Mattie (Easley) Tackett Hammett, 104, of Lonoke, died May 12, 2006. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse.
She is survived by three nieces.
A graveside service was held 10 a.m., May 15, at Edgewood Memorial Park. Arrangements were by North Little Rock Funeral Home.
Lawrence P. Foley
Lawrence Patrick Foley, 76, of Sherwood, died May 10, 2006. He was a
Korean War veteran, a 32nd Degree Mason in Big Rock Lodge, a member of the Scottish Rite, the Scimitar Shrine Temple, American Legion Post 1, and the VFW.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ida Virginia Foley; children, Lawrence Foley, Jr., of Albuquerque, NM, Dennis Foley of Austin, TX, Constance Phillips of Roland, OK, Loretta Gaines of Wilburton, OK, Dwight Foley of Whitney, TX, Karla Adair of Cabot, and Mark Foley of Austin, TX; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 13 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel in Sherwood.
Wanda F. McCoy
Wanda F. McCoy, 70, of Jacksonville, died Monday, May 15, 2006. She graduated from Davis High School in Davis, OK in 1954 and married July 1, the same year.
Wanda is survived by her husband of 51 years, Charles R. McCoy, three daughters; Marla McCoy of Jacksonville, Sheila Boser of Cabot, Vickie of Cabot; sister Velma Walker of Yukon, OK; brother, Kenneth of Coleman, OK, eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday, May 19, 2006 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
