Inez Goodwin Cole
Inez Goodwin Cole, 88, of Lonoke, died April 5, 2006.
Survivors include her daughters, Edna Mae Sheets, Rachel Brooks and Betty Rains; son, Art Cole; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Frances Taylor.
Funeral services were held April 7 at Panola Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Concord Cemetery. Arrangements were by Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.
Raymond E. Fraser
Raymond Eugene Fortune Fraser, 61, of North Little Rock and formerly of Newport, died April 7, 2006. He was the owner operator of S and F Auto Sales in North Little Rock for 36 years.
He is survived by his son, Christopher of Cabot; mother, Gracie “Honey” Fraser of North Little Rock; brothers, Stanley and Willis “B.G.” Fraser; sisters, Mary and Patricia Fraser all of North Little Rock; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the D A V, 2200 Fort Root Dr., Building 65, Room 121, North Little Rock, Ark. 72114. Graveside services were Monday at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements were by North Little Rock Funeral Home.
Zettie A. Reeves
Zetttie Aldridge Reeves, 89, of North Little Rock, died April 6, 2006. She was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Pat Murphy of Cabot, and Cherie Martin of Sherwood; sisters, Ruby Nix of Magnolia, and Elsie Rowe of Waldo; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 9, at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Mt. Vernon Cemetery
under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home of Magnolia.
Ardith L. Kellar
Ardith L. Kellar, 74, of Jacksonville, died April 6, 2006. He was a practicing CPA for several years in Little Rock and Jacksonville. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jacksonville and a York Right Mason. He was a local businessman and served on the residential Housing Facilities Board for the city of Jacksonville.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, LaVerne Stover Kellar; sons, Steve Kellar of Sherwood and Dr. Stan Kellar of North Little Rock; daughter, Linda Shore of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren; two great-granddaugh-ters; sisters, Syble Stout of Conway, Sula Stobaugh of Conway and Shirley Hardke of Carlisle; brothers, J.F. of Little Rock, Luther Legenia of Little Rock, Ron of Benton and Dewey of San Angelo, TX.
Funeral services were held April 10, at First Baptist Church, Jacksonville. Interment followed in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery
in North Little Rock. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements were under direction of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.
Garlon W. Bearden
Garlon Wilber Bearden, 87, of Cabot, died April 6, 2006. He was an LPN at Fort Roots for 30 years and U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Wilma Opal Richard Bearden; stepbrother, Albert Webb, of Little Rock; sisters, Minnie Fortson and Lucille Bearden; brother, Ivy Bearden; and stepsister, Frances Weeks.
Graveside services were held April 10 at Sumner Cemetery.
Arrangements were by North Little Rock Funeral Home.
E. I. Bloodworth
Elizabeth Irene Bloodworth, 96, of Cabot, died April 6, 2006.
She is survived by her sons, Jim of Conway, and Terry Bloodworth of Springfield, MO; daughter, Ramona Callaway of Cabot; sister, Ruth Tucker of Beebe; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Beebe. She was a resident at Spring Creek Living Center in Cabot for the last three years.
Funeral services were held April 10, in the chapel of Roller Daniel Funeral Home with interment following at White County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Elsie Meredith
Elsie “Dolly” Meredith, 79, of Lonoke, died April 8, 2006.
She was a Christian and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Cabot.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Kennedy of Cabot and Robert W. Meredith of Harrison; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters, Helen Kennedy, Janie McRaven both of Sherwood and Betty Jean Burkett of Atkins.
Funeral services were held April 11 at Moore’s Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Interment followed in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.
Annie Marie Taylor
Annie Marie Taylor, 95, of Beebe, died April 7, 2006. She was a member of Union Valley Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons and daughters, Chester Tozer of McRae, Lester Tozer of Garner, Everett Tozer of Austin, Pauline Bass of Beebe and Linda Walker of Beebe; 22 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wed., April 12, at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thurs., April 13, at Westbrook Funeral Home with burial in Cheek Cemetery
in Garner.
Alma Sue Yates
Alma Sue Yates, 48, of Beebe, formerly of Des Arc, died April 9, 2006.
Survivors include her mother, Alma Louise Gamble; sons, Bobby Joe Blackwell; Bobby Lee Blackwell; daughter, Christy Cunningham; two brothers; two sisters; and six grandchildren.
No services are scheduled. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
Percy W. Hunt
Percy W. Hunt, 87, of Cabot, died April 8, 2006. He participated and excelled in all sports and was a graduate of Catholic High School. He was a decorated World War II and Korean Conflict Air Force veteran. He finished his
military career of over 30 years with the Arkansas 189th Air National Guard. He was a member of St. Rose Parish in Carlisle and served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mildred “Pat” Bowen Hunt; daughter Mary Nelle Whitehead; son Paul Hunt; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Wed., April 12, at St. Rose Parish in Carlisle. Burial, with full
military honors, will be in the National Cemetery, Camp Robinson, in North Little Rock. Arrangements are by Boyd Funeral Home.
Larry “L.G.” Laster
Larry “L.G.” Laster, 69, of Lonoke, died April 7, 2006.
His survivors include his wife, Edna of Lonoke; daughter, Debra Laster, Durwick Galloway of Chicago, IL; sister, Margaret Laster Brown; brothers, Joe and Sterling of Chicago, IL, Benjamin of Washington, D.C., and Vance of Little Rock; stepbrothers, Robert Wetzel of Maumelle, and Jimmy Wetzel of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Fri., April 14, 11 a.m., in the Chapel of Superior Funeral Services. Visitation will be Thurs., April 13, 6-7 p.m., at Superior Funeral Services, 5017 East Broadway, North Little Rock.
Mary E. Burgess
Mary Elizabeth Garner Burgess, 83, died April 10, 2006 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Troy Samuel Burgess; three daughters, Peggy Moore, Sandra Pawlowski and Debbie Roark; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was a retired nurse and a charter member of Roberson Baptist Church in Lonoke where she served as church secretary for several years. She was previously a charter member of Tyler Street Baptist in Little Rock.
Funeral services will be held at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke 10 a.m. Thursday with interment in Pine Crest Cemetery, Alexander. Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Baptist Hospice or Alzheimer’s Arkansas.
Jessie L. Goins Jr.,
Jessie Lee (J.L.) Goins Jr., 79, of Cabot died April 6, 2006, at his residence.
He was a retired parts man with Auto Zone and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville. He was Army and Air Force Veteran, serving from 1945 to 1947.
He is survived by a son, Jessie Lee Goins III of Judsonia; daughter, Cathy McArthur of Jacksonville; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held at a later date.

Vernon C. Avery
Vernon Charles Avery, age 77, died April 10, 2006. He was of the Baptist Faith, Survivors include his wife Margery Staton Avery; children, Terry Lynn Avery of Lonoke, Jerry Lee Avery of Carlisle and Billie Jo Black of Conway; two grandchildren.
Graveside services were Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens, arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
