Cecil H. Bates
Cecil H. Bates, 94, of Cabot, died Nov. 13, 2005.
He is survived by his daughter, Joy Dean Wilson of Austin; brother, Joe Bates of Ward; 13 grandchildren, many great and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Nov. 15 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe with burial in Center Point Cemetery
in Quitman.
Marie Alice Farrar
Marie Alice Farrar, age 82, of Cabot, formerly of Auburn, New York, passed away on November 20, 2005. Born March 1, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY to the late David and Kathryn Meehan. She was a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Jacksonville and the Senior Citizens in Cabot.
Preceded in death by her husband William C. Farrar on November 1, 1991.
Survivors include three daughters: Katie Nichols (Edwin) of Cabot, AR, Sharon Seymour (Larry) of Auburn, NY, and Donna Leontovich of Concord, North Carolina; one sister Kathryn Walker of Hemet, CA; six grandchildren: Christopher, Heather, Edwin Jr., Scott, Zachary and Stephanie; and two great-grandchildren: Alexis and Tyler David.
Memorial services to be announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements by Thomas Funeral Service in Cabot (501)941-7888.
Ida Mae Hawkins
Ida Mae “Sally” Hawkins, age 78, died Sunday morning, Nov. 20, 2005 at her home in Fort Worth., Texas. Sally was born in Lonoke.
Sally is survived by sons, Richard Thomason of Springtown, Texas, Jeff Thomason, Jr. of Malvern and Kenneth Hawkins of Alpena; daughters, Charlotte Horton of Cabot, Margo Wilson of Fort Worth, Texas, Doris Christian and Le Iva Klein of Alpena, Texas, Kathryn Craff of East Alton, Ill. and Gayle Bedillian of Bedford, Texas. Sally also leaves behind eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren from her union with Mr. Thomason, 31 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren from her union with Mr. Hawkins.
Services officiated by Brother Floyd Flowers will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Hebron Cemetery.
Lola Mae Schutkesting
Lola Mae Schutkesting, 87, of Cabot died Nov. 15, 2005.
She is survived by two daughters: Rose Marie Smith of Atlanta, Mo. and Linda Kay Knight of Ward; two sons: Jack Schutkesting of Kingfisher, Okla. and Joe Schutkesting of Orlando, Okla.; four brothers: John Powers of Chattanooga, Tenn., Don Powers of Kennewick, Wash., Mack Powers of Oakwood, Texas and DeWayne Powers of Inyokern, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Cabot.
Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 21, 2005 at the Church of Christ in Hennessey, Okla. with burial following at the Hennessey Cemetery. Arrangements by Thomas Funeral Service.
Edward Harper
Edward (Ed) Harper, 59, of Cabot, Ark., formerly of Holcomb, Miss., died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005 at Rebsamen Medical Center in Jacksonville, Ark.
The funeral service was held Friday, Nov. 17, at the Stonefield Church of God at Cascilla, Miss.
Mr. Harper is survived by his wife, Janice Harper of Cabot; his son, Anthony; his daughter-in-law, Tammy, and two wonderful grandchildren, Andrew and Ashton; also a host of friends.
Vara S. Seaton
Vara S. Seaton, 89, of Batesville, Arkansas, passed away November 15, 2005. Born April 22, 1916, in Sylvania in Lonoke County, she lived there until moving to Batesville in 1997. She was a lifelong member of the Sylvania Presbyterian Church. She served as elder, deacon, Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school teacher, youth leader, Women of the Church president, Presbyterian Church Extension Committee chairman, and a home missions committee member. She was a Sunday school teacher for sixty years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otha. She is survived by one daughter, Darlene Seaton Byrd of Doniphin, Missouri; two sons, Eddie Seaton of Cabot and Carroll Seaton of Batesville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2005, at Sylvania Cemetery, by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.
Daryl Karl Gillman
Daryl Karl Gillman, 66, of Jacksonville, died Nov. 15, 2005.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville and a former member of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church in Little Rock.
Survivors include his mother, Barbara Beth Ayres Gillman of Jacksonville; sister, Dixie Buchanan and of Cabot; and brother, David Gillman of Tulsa, OK.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Fri., Nov. 18 at First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, officiated by Reverend David Dyer.
Burial followed in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Charles Baker
Charles “Chuck” Baker, 78, died Nov. 14, 2005.
Survivors include his sons, Alan and Chris both of Brinkley, Marcus of Austin, TX, and Bobby Baker of Memphis, TN; daughter, Tanya Priest of Carlisle; brothers, Richard and Herbert Baker; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Nov. 18 at the Fowler Funeral Chapel.
Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery
in Brinkley.
Jonathan Wezowicz
Jonathan Alexander Wezowicz, 21 months, of Beebe, died 14, 2005.
Survivors include his father, Edward Wezowicz of Beebe; mother, Dana Wezowicz of North Little Rock; brother, Matthew Wezowicz; sisters, Amanda and Danielle Wezowicz all of Beebe; grandparents, Marion Wezowicz of Auburn, NY, Edward Wezowicz of Hawley, PA, Rhonda Bone of North Little Rock and William Powers of Jacksonville; and three great-grandmothers, Shirley Sheppard, Patsy Powers and Marge Stuart.
Funeral services were held Sat., Nov. 19, at Union Valley Baptist Church in Beebe with interment following at Old Austin Cemetery
in Ward.
Memorial donations may be made in Jonathan’s memory to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Cecil Ballew
Cecil “Tommy” Ballew, 56, of Cabot, died Nov. 3, 2005.
Survivors are his brothers, David and Donnie Ballew; and sister, Linda Luna.
Cremation memorial services were held Nov. 19 at the Mayflower Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Thomas Funeral Service of Cabot.
Donna Sue Goings
Donna Sue Goings, of Helena, died Nov. 17, 2005.
She is survived by a son Mark Goings of Cabot; daughter Julie Lane of Helena; four grandchildren; sister, Julia Hudson of Dumas; and brother, Holbert Hill of Cabot.
A memorial service was held Nov. 20, at Holly Grove United Methodist Church.

Hunter Smitherman
Hunter Lynn Crouch Smitherman, infant son of Warren Lynn Smitherman and Amanda Sue Crouch both of Ward, died Nov. 17, 2005.
Funeral services were held Nov. 19 at the Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel.
Nellie R. Harrison
Nellie Rackley Harrison, 82, of Southaven, MS, died Nov. 16, 2005.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Howard’s Laundry and Cleaners in Little Rock for over 25 years. She attended Crystal Hill Assembly of God Church in North Little Rock.
She is survived by her son, James E. Rackley of Nesbit, MS; daughter, Judy R. Young of Springdale; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, Arley Rabey, Jr., of Lonoke.
A graveside service was held Nov. 19 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
