Frances Taylor Fields
Frances E. Taylor Fields, 77, of Austin, died Oct. 18, 2005. She was a lifelong resident of the Austin area and was of the Pentecostal faith. She was a Nurse’s Aide and a Medication Aide at Cabot Manor for nearly 25 years.
Survivors include her children, Marie Hill of Austin, Virginia “Jennie” Smart Rocky of Tulsa, OK, William R. Taylor of Ward, James E. Taylor of Prim, and Coy Taylor of Ward; brother, Jeff Dedmon of Little Rock; sisters, Judy Ford of Little Rock, Carolyn Roach of Cabot, and Linda Pierce of Florida; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Oct. 21 at Mountain Springs Baptist Church. Burial was in the Mountain Springs Cemetery. Arrangements by Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home.
Zadie M. Witcher
Zadie Moncrief Witcher, 95, of Searcy, died Oct. 17, 2005.
She is survived by her children, Charlene Lackie of Searcy, and Troy Witcher of Cabot; sister, Monell Norman of Benton; brother, Cleveland Moncrief of Payson; six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Oct. 20 at First Baptist Church in Searcy. Burial was at the Cypress Valley Cemetery
in Vilonia.
Helen H. Bolling
Helen Hefner Bolling, 91, of Little Rock died Oct. 20, 2005. She was a member of Parkway Place Baptist Church and former member of Highland Methodist Church. She was secretary and retired from the Arkansas Department of Education.
She is survived by her son, Bill Bolling of Gaithersburg, MD; and daughter, Anne Moss of Cabot; four granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Oct. 22 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth in Little Rock, with burial following at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, and Bulgarian Mission in care of Cabot First Baptist Church.
James B. Calvert
James B. Calvert, 66, of El Paso, died Oct. 20, 2005.
He is survived by his wife Dora of El Paso; children, Donna Maler and of Scott, Don Calvert of Cabot, Rosalie Stacey of North Little Rock, Brenda of Jacksonville, James Calvert of Vilonia and Roy Calvert of Jonesboro; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Calvert of Carlisle; and sister, Rebecca Quinn of Little Rock.
A memorial service was held at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke on Oct. 22.
Dora Riggs Haynes
Dora E. Riggs Haynes, 92, of Austin, died Oct. 21, 2005. She was retired from MacMillan-Bloedel and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Joe W. Haynes of Plano, TX; daughters, Rosemary Sutton of Saratoga, and Martha Martin of Austin; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Oct. 24 at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Alma T. Iacovelli
Alma Edwina Taylor Iacovelli, died Oct. 22, 2005. She had worked as a payroll supervisor for the U.S. Army and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Carl E. Thomas of Cabot, Ron L. Thomas of Spartanburg, SC, and Tony Iacovelli of Reno, NV; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Taylor of Little Rock; and sister, Frances Moore of Smackover.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wed., Oct. 26, at Faith United Methodist Church with Reverend Sue Howe officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Oct. 26 in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery
in North Little Rock.

Dorothy McCormick
Dorothy Alene McCormick, 85, died Oct. 27, 2005 in her home in Austin. A graduate of Ouachita Parish High School, West Monroe, La., she worked at Federal Compress and Warehouse and was a member of First Baptist Church of England and Order of Eastern Star. She was a poll worker for years.
Survivors are a son, Joe McCormick, Jr. of Little Rock and a daughter, Gay F. Horn of Austin; sisters, Pat Roberts of Bossier City, La., Joan Olsen, Fran Hoppenwrath and Margaret Barnes.
Funeral service was at Roller-England Chapel on Oct. 29, 2005, with burial in Mulberry Cemetery.

Jerry Thompson, Sr.
CSM Jerry Lynn Thompson Sr. died Oct. 19, 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Washam-Thompson; children with first wife, Vonda Oulette, Jerry Thompson, Jr., and Theresa McClearen all of Hawkins, TX, Nancy Wallis of Stanton, IA, Renee Ruhs of Cranberry Township, PA, and Mark Thompson of Lonoke; children with current wife, Jonathan Shook of Dallas, TX, Angela Rowland of Searcy, Jennifer Peacock of Conway, and Amanda Krueger of Conway; 21 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and sister, Blinda Loden of Tomball, TX.
Jerry served 20 years in the United States Regular Army. He was a member of the Red Catchers Association, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Association of the United States Army.

Richard C. LaCroix
Richard Carl LaCroix, Sr. age 75 of Lonoke, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2005 in Jacksonville.
Survivors include one daughter: Cynthia Hawk of Cabot; one son Richard Carl LaCroix, Jr. of River Bank, Calif.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters of Rhode Island.
Private family services were arranged by Thomas Funeral Service, Cabot.

Bobby Ferrell Milam
Bobby Ferrell Milam, age 69, of Austin, died Oct. 23, 2005.
Survivors include two brothers: James Milam of Austin and Frank Milam of Missouri; four sisters: Polly Powell, Kay Thompson and Faye Holmes all of California and Bonnie Hightower of Cabot.
Graveside services were Thursday, Oct. 27 at Springhill Cemetery

Brenda Kay Reed
Brenda Kay Reed, age 41, of Austin, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005.
Survivors include her husband Frankie Reed; two sons Ronnie and Cody Reed all of the home; mother Mary Davis of Ward; and three sisters: Pat Boone of Ward, Helen Dover and Billie Noey both of North Little Rock.
Memorial services were Friday, Oct. 28, 2005 at Campground Union Church in Cabot with Bro. Ron Cody officiating. Arrangements by Thomas Funeral Service.
Robert L. Smith
Robert Letcher Smith, 78, Cabot, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005 in St. Charles, Mo. Mr. Smith served in the Navy during WW II, after which he lived in St. Louis until his retirement from Boeing in 1988. He then moved to Cabot where he was employed as the bookkeeper for Truck of Little Rock. He was an active member of the Kiwanis Club where he served as president for two terms and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Cabot.
Smith is survived by his wife of 55 years, Laverne R. Smith; one daughter; Robin E. Lawson of St Louis, Missouri; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Patricia J. Stephens, Sharon R. Smith, both of Cabot, and Barbara E. Atkinson of Greenbrier.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Cabot. Entombment was in Rest Hills Mausoleum.

Mary Smith
Mary Smith, age 79, of Cabot, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005. She was in the Army Air Corp during World War II. A caring person, she loved to play bingo and loved being a member of the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her children, Larry Burrows, Sr. of Cabot, Kenny Burrows of Hot Springs and Charlene Drennan of Oklahoma City, Okla.; her brother, Billy Joe Stell of Ward; her sister Sue Hendricks of Hot Springs; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 at Antioch Cemetery
