Julius Smith
Julius Smith, 81, of Sherwood, died March 26, 2005.
He started the Department of Public Safety at UALR in 1969 and retired in 1986. He was a member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Sherwood.
His survivors include his wife of 61 years, Clara; sons, Larone of North Little Rock, and Danny of Russellville; four grandchildren; four great-grandsons; sisters, Lottie Stubbs of Little Rock, Dorothy Dube of Sherwood, Adlee Stratton of Cordova, TN, and Sharon Bass of Beebe; brothers, J. B. Smith of Marianna, Sammy Smith of Ward, Gene Smith and Gary Smith, both of Cabot.
Funeral services were held March 28, at Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Sherwood, with burial in Butlerville Cemetery.
Lester L. Woosley
Lester Layman Woosley, 90, of Plano, TX, formerly of Benton, died March 19, 2005.
He was born in Hazen and raised in Carlisle. He was with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Pine Bluff, and later with the Aluminum Company of America (Alcoa) in Benton, where he retired in 1979.
Woosley is survived by his wife of 61 years, Billie Lea Johnson Woosley; daughters Becky Taylor and Carol Wallace, both of Plano; Dale Woosley of Salem, IL; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home Chapel in Conway, March 29. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Shirley Marie Roy
Shirley Marie Norman Roy, 46, of Cabot died Sunday, March 27, 2005.
She is survived by her mother, Joyce Norman; sister, JoAnn Stoots; brother, Robert Norman; four daughters, Jenny Lee of Cabot, Monica Roy, Brandy Rackley and Christine Roy, all of Little Rock; three grandchildren.

Brady Rudd Hooper
Brady Rudd Hooper, 18 of Cabot died Sunday, April 3, 2005 at his home. He was born September 29, 1986 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Greg and Sara Lu Rudd Hooper. Brady was a senior at Cabot High School where he was an active member of the Air Force Jr. ROTC. Brady served as Rifle Team Commander and in 2004 he received the Distinguished Cadet Award. He was a member of Cabot First Baptist Church. Brady belonged to the Youth Group, First Student Ministries and Bulgarian Mission Team. He was also in the Delayed Entry Program (DEP) for the U.S. Marines Corp where he was scheduled to join the Corp. following graduation. Brady was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Savanna Rudd.
He is survived by his parents, Greg and Sara Lu Hooper of Cabot; two brothers, Ben and Brandon Hooper, both of Cabot; maternal grandfather, Charles and his wife Jackie Rudd of Leesburg, Florida; paternal grandparents, Alvin and Marguerite Hooper of Altamonte Springs, Florida; aunt, Suzan Hutchinson of Charlotte, North Carolina three uncles and their spouses, David and Joann Rudd of Leesburg, Florida, Chuck and Dian Hooper of Occee, Florida, Ted and Christy Hooper of Lucedale, Mississippi; four cousins.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at First Baptist Church in Cabot with Reverend Dennis Phelps and Reverend Randy Monroe officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at Cabot Funeral Home. Patricia Lou Conley
Patricia Lou Conley, 67, of Ward died Wednesday, March 30, 2005. Mrs. Conley attended School in Pleasant Plains and graduated from Searcy High School. She was a telephone operator and a home maker.
She is survived by three sons, Walter (Frank) Conley, Jr. of Cabot, Michael Conley and Daniel R. Conley, both of Ward; a brother, Bob Watkins of Pangburn and one sister, Sue McCurdy of Manchester, Ga.; six grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, April 4, 2005 in the Chapel of Cabot Funeral Home. Visitation was Sunday. Burial was White County Memorial Gardens in Searcy.
Martha Evelyn Henry
Martha Evelyn Henry, 104, of Cabot died Wednesday, March 30, 2005.
She and her husband Fred Henry lived most of their married life in North Little Rock.
She is survived by a special friend, Janet Hammon of Alamosa, Colo.
Graveside services were Friday, April 1, 2005 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home.
Martha Ann Kirk
Martha Ann Kirk, age 56, died March 28, 2005.
She is survived by her daughter, Roma Kirk of Florida; stepson Bobby Kirk of Lonoke; two step-grandchildren; and a brother, Martin Clark of Louisiana.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Miles C. Flannery
Miles C. Flannery, of Cabot, died March 30, 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Dalene Griffin Flannery; children, Barry Allen Flannery and Terri Marie Gately both of Cabot; two grandchildren; and sister, Gene Marie Sherwood of Virginia.
Miles retired from the United States Air Force, and General Services Administration.
Funeral services were held April at 16th Section Cemetery, Austin.
Memorials may be made to the Cabot Animal Shelter.
Dennis B. Gwin, Sr.
Dennis B. “Preacher” Gwin, Sr., 90, of Sheridan, died March 30, 2005.
He was the owner and operator of Gwin’s Used Cars of Sheridan, a member of First United Methodist Church, member of the Masonic Lodge #345, and the last Charter Member of The Sheridan Hunting Club.
He is survived by son, Dennis B. Gwin, Jr. of Sheridan; daughters, Dolores French of Cabot, and Linda Faye Graves of Sheridan; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 2 in the Chapel of Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan. Burial followed in Lost Creek Cemetery.
Robert Lee Martin
Robert Lee Martin, 51, of North Little Rock, died March 24, 2005. He was reared and educated in Lonoke. He graduated from Carver High School in 1972 and then served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his mother, Velma Jackson of Little Rock; sisters, Velma L. Raymond of Oakland, CA, Patricia D. Thompson of Clinton, MD; and brother, Jake Jackson, Jr., of Little Rock.
Memorial services were held at Mt. Sinai Christian Church in North Little Rock.
Doris Elaine Welch
Doris Elaine Welch, 83, died April 2, 2005.
She is survived by her sister, Kathyrn Barrett of Lonoke.
Funeral services were held April 4 at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke, with interment in the Lonoke Cemetery.

Ruby M. Harrolle, 92, of Carlisle, died March 31, 2005.
She is survived by sister, Avis Loftis of Lonoke.
Funeral services were held April 2, at Landmark Baptist Church in Carlisle. Burial followed in the Carlisle Cemetery.
