Stella R. Greenhill
Stella Ruth Greenhill, age 84, died March 7, 2005. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Fischer of Lonoke, Margie James of Carlisle and Patricia Fathke of Yantis, Texas; one brother, Danny Marce Greenhill of Gillette; sisters, Virginia Ray and Jewell Johnston of DeWitt; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Friday, March 11 at Boyd Chapel with a committal service in Bonners Chapel Cemetery, arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
Vona I. Wood
Vona I. “Pat” Wood, 82, of Cabot, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005. She worked for the Little Rock Police Department where she retired and was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Cabot.
She is survived by her son, Don Wood of Sherwood; three grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Beene of Greenbrier, Ona Rockwell, (twin sister) of Malvern and Ruth Moore, of Cabot.
Funeral services were Friday at Victory Baptist Church. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery
by North Little Rock Funeral Home.
Jean Masner May
Jean Masner May “Mamma Jean”, age 79, of Cabot, died March 7, 2005.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Ann Whitley of Bella Vista; son, Robert Daniel May of Cabot; sister, Billie Masner of Batesville; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
There was a visitation on Friday. Funeral services were Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Campground Union Church in Cabot with interment at Maxville Cemetery
in Cave City. Arrangements by Thomas Funeral Service.
Sharon Kay Campbell
Sharon Kay Campbell, age 42, of El Paso, died March 12, 2005. She was a member of Charity Baptist Church in Cabot and worked for Wal-Mart in Cabot.
Sharon is survived by three brothers, Royce Campbell of California, Tony Campbell, and Ronnie Campbell of El Paso; her grandmother, Annie Tozer of Beebe.
Funeral was Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Antioch Cemetery.
Ernest Turanyi
Ernest Turanyi, 85, of Cabot, died March 6, 2005.
Survivors include three daughters: Sandra Menzie of Beebe, Barbara Morrow of Alaska, and Darlene Richards of Colorado; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother and one sister.
Private services were held at the National Cemetery
in Little Rock.
Nancy Louise Conrad
Nancy Louise Mitchell Britt Conrad, 82, of Lonoke, died March 8, 2005.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lonoke.
She is survived by her children Andrea Schafer and Nancy McDurmont of Lonoke, Maurice L. Britt, III of Royal; step-daughters, Becky Chittenden and Charie Conrad of Springfield, MO; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; and sister, Jeanne Mitchell Baker of Fort Smith.
Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian Church in Lonoke on March 11 and a committal service followed at Forrest Park Cemetery
in Fort Smith.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
Vivian W. Jacks
Vivian Wheatley Jacks, 91, of Brinkley, died March 9, 2005.
She was the former owner and operator of Wayside Motel and Cafe, and a retired Justice of the Peace. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Brinkley.
Survivors include sons, L.R. Jacks of Lonoke, and James Russell Jacks of Sun City, AZ; brother Lloyd Wheatley, Clarendon; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church in Brinkley. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery
in Brinkley.
Memorials may be made to Brinkley First Baptist Church or to the Ruth Sunday School class at First Baptist.
Floy Wilburn
Floy Wilburn, 84, of Cabot died March 8, 2005.
She worked 15 years at the Tuff-Nutt Garment Factory until she retired in 1971. She was a member of Russell Chapel Church of the Nazarene in Cabot.
Survivors include son, Lloyd “Butch” Wilburn of Cabot; daughter, Hazel Barnes of Perry, FA; brothers, Gene Pennington of Concord, CA, J.F. Pennington of Florence, AZ; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 12 at Russell Chapel Church of the Nazarene.
Interment was at Mt. Carmel Cemetery
in Cabot.
Vesta Williams
Vesta Williams, 93, of Cabot, formerly of Melbourne, died March 12, 2005.
She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot.
She is survived by daughter, Bobbie Gail Wamock, of Cabot; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 14 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot. Interment was at Violet Hill Cemetery
in Violet Hill.
Memorials may be made to the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church building fund.
Derek Richard Balog
Derek Richard Balog, 26, of Cabot, died March 10, 2005.
He graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1996. He was currently a senior at the University of Arkansas Little Rock where he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He was also a member of ‘The Contigencies’ band.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer of the home; parents, Robert and Kathy Armstrong; sister Cheryl Long; and brothers, William Armstrong, all of Cleveland, TX, Daniel Blythe of Cabot, and Michael Blythe of Conway; grandparents, Sylvia and Billy Williams, of Cabot, and Jeantte and Raymond Kurka of Oregon; and grandfather, Richard Balog, of Cleveland, TX.
Funeral services were held March 14, 2005, at Victory Baptist Church in Cabot with interment at Sumner Cemetery.
Clois W. Haney, Sr.
Clois Wayne Haney, Sr., 80, of Cabot, died March 11, 2005.
Survivors include wife, Helen Haney, Cabot; son, stepdaughter; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, MS.
Edith Ziegler
Edith Ziegler, 94, of Cabot, formerly of Benton, died March 11, 2005.
She was a daycare provider to many families of Saline County.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Tina Green of Cabot; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were March 14, at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at New Rosemont Cemetery
in Benton.
Ethel Mercer Roberts
Ethel ‘Granny’ Mercer Roberts, 88, of North Little Rock died Sunday, March 13, 2005.
She was a homemaker and a member of Levy United Methodist Church.
She is survived by sons, James H. Roberts, Jerry L. Roberts both of North Little Rock and Raymond L. Roberts of Cabot; daughter, Lois Boyd of North Little Rock; nine
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes. Association.
Funeral services were held March 15 at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial followed at Roselawn Cemetery.
