Mary Ellen Gruber, age 68, of Cabot, died May 18, 2004.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Conway.
She is survived by two daughters - Peggy Hoffman of Conway, and Karen Miller of Cabot; her son - Jim Gruber of Bedford, Texas; four grandsons; her sister, Colleen Cook of Russellville; and four brothers - Joe Pierce of West Memphis, Jimmy Pierce of Indiana, Jerry Pierce of Bella Vista, and Johnny Pierce of Clarksville.
Funeral was Friday, May 21, 2004, at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, Little Rock, with burial at Roselawn Cemetery.

Pearl B. Mathis
Pearl B. Mathis, 94, of Lonoke, died May 18, 2004.
She is survived by four daughters, Opal Jones of Lonoke, Deanie Kee of Horseshoe Lake, Shirley Popejoy of Mabelvale, and Glynda Parks of Conway; two sons, Dee L. Mathis, Jr., of Lonoke, and Glenn Mathis of Tennessee; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren ; 10 great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held May 22, at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Roller-Drummond Southwest Funeral Home was in charge.
Lela Allison
Lela Allison, age 91 of Lonoke, went to be with the Lord May 24, 2004. She was a member of New Testament Missionary Baptist Church. Preceding her in death is her husband, Cecil Allison and a son, Jimmy Allison. She is survived by her son, Freddie Allison and his wife Glenda and a daughter, Patsy Revis and husband Roland, all of Lonoke; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marion Talley of North Little Rock and Edward Talley and one sister, Alene Spires, both of Cabot. The funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. May 26, 2004 at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke with burial to follow in Sylvania Cemetery.
Dale Parker Clay
Dale Parker Clay, 74, of Cabot died May 29, 2004. Survivors include his son; Richard Clay of Modesto, CA; nephew, Jerry Olmsted of Cabot. Cremation arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.
Lola M. McDaniel
Lola M. McDaniel, 84, of Cabot died May 28, 2004. She is preceded in death by her husband Harry McDaniel; son, Kenneth Allen McDaniel, and her parents, Arthur and Artie Mae Carter.
Survivors include her two daughters; Karen Franks of Cabot and Lisa Mulhern of Clarksville, Md.; sister, Dean Cargill of Little Rock; brother, Jerry Carter of Mabelvale AR; grandchildren, Joshua and Justin Franks, and Jacob Mulhern.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 1, at the Cabot Funeral Home Chapel, starting at 10 a.m. with Brother Del Medlin officiating. Visitation was Monday, May 31 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
Arene D. Lightfoot
Arene Delois Lightfoot, 88, of Austin died May 30, 2004. She is preceded in death by her husband, W.D. “Bill” Lightfoot.
Survivors include her daughters; Donna Lightfoot of Austin, AR; Awana Lightfoot Dye and son-in-law, Bobby Dye of Findlay, OH; sister, Illa Harris of Plano, TX and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Funeral services were Wednesday, June 2 at 2 p.m. at the Cabot Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes. Association.
James C. Buchanan
James Clarence Buchanan, 85, passed May 27, 2004.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Charlotte Mae; sons, Rudolph, Larry and Jerry Buchanan.
Survivors include Lillie Simpler (wife); sons, Odell, W.C., Harold, Mitchell, Sanford and Dwight Buchanan; daughters, Jean Shavers, Barbara Johnston, Marilyn (Joel) Johnson, Phyllis Buchanan, Sonja Rowe; four stepchildren; 27 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, June 3 at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 500 Ferguson St., Lonoke, with interment in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock.
Lucille M. Ross
Lucille M. Ross, age 88, of Cabot, died May 31, 2004.
Survivors include two sons, Robert and Jerry Ross; daughter, Sidney Burgess; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, all of Cabot.
Services were June 2, at Campground Union Church. Internment was at Sylvania Cemetery.

Eligh Franklin Pate
Eligh Franklin Pate, 93, of North Little Rock died Saturday, May 29, 2004.
He was a member of Lynch Drive Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mamie Casey Pate; two daughters, Virginia Williams of Little Rock and Jo Ann Gifford of Ward; sister, Maydean Estep of Enola; six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were May 31, at the Roller McNutt Chapel in Conway, with burial in Siloam Cemetery
in Enola.

Mandy L. Brainard, 88, of Little Rock died May 27, 2004.
She is survived by her husband, Allen; daughter, Janith Smith of Cabot; sons, James W. Harrison of Dayton, Ohio, Jack R. Harrison of Decatur, Ala.; brother, Joseph Everett of Nelson, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday at Huson Funeral Home Chapel, Sherwood, with interment at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery
in North Little Rock.

Phillip H. Moore
Phillip H. Moore, 88, of Jacksonville died Friday, May 28, 2004.
He was retired from Vertac Inc. in Jacksonville, and was a WWII Army veteran and a lifetime member of the VFW.
He is survived by five sons, Philip E. Moore of Lonoke, Lue Moore, Jim Moore, Jessie Moore and Sam Moore, all of Jacksonville; three daughters, Barbara Hancock of DeValls Bluff, Sue Hall and Judy Nichols, both of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Tuesday at Stanfill Baptist Church and burial was in Harmony Cemetery. North Little Rock Funeral Home was in charge.

Donna Lee Cushing, age 54, of Harrison, died May 30, 2004.
She leaves behind her daughter of Searcy; her son Ronnie Sutton II of Bryant; and her sister Darlene Creasey of Harrison.

Linda Janice Mitchem, age 59, died June 2, 2004. She was the mother of four sons and one daughter, Alan W. Mitchem, Bobbi R. Mitchem, James L. Mitchem, Shannon R. Mitchem and Timothy J. Mitchem; grandmother of five and great-grandmother of one; also surviving, ex husband, Lewis Andrews. Graveside services were Sunday at Old Carlisle Cemetery, arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home.
Paul C. Pendergist
Paul Coleman Pendergist, age 56, of Austin, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004. He was a graduate of Fuller High School in Little Rock and Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He was employed in the telecommunications field. Paul is survived by his wife, Teresa, sons Amon, a student at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and Jake and daughter Jocelyn all of the home; his father Jim of Little Rock, two sisters, Pat Barrett of Little Rock and Barbara Tucker of Omaha, Ark.; two brothers, James Pendergist of California, and John Pendergist of Helena.
Funeral service was Saturday, June 5, 2004, at First Baptist Church, Cabot with C.J. Duvall and Bro. Joe Hall officiating. Burial was in Sixteenth Section Cemetery
by Westbrook Funeral Home.
