Roberta Dene Barnes, 75, of Waverly, Kan., died Nov. 24, 2003.
She was a retired legal secretary and a member of the Waverly First Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Waverly.
Survivors include a son, Steven Barnes of Overland, Kan.; two grandchildren; brothers, Lyndell Wayne Wiley of San Jose, Calif., Haddon Moats of Richardson, Texas, Albert Moats of Danville, and Douglas Moats of Austin; sisters, Alice Tygart of Cabot, Frieda Sugita of Dixon, Calif. and Eva Phillips of Dardanelle.
Funeral was Nov. 29 at the Waverly First Baptist Church, with burial in Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Kan.
Robert Wing Black
Robert Wing Black, 87, of Lonoke died Jan. 13, 2004.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Todd Black; and a brother, John Wing Black of Billings, Mont.
Graveside service was Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke in charge of arrangements.
Frank Paul Jr.
Frank “Jughead” Paul Jr., 53, of Conway died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and a retired road construction worker.
He is survived by two sons, Charles Kirk Paul Jr. and Charles Thompson, of Little Rock; four daughters, Bobbie Frances Paul, of Little Rock, Jennifer Mae Thompson, of Sheridan, Amanda Frances Paul, of North Little Rock and Pamela Frances Vickers, of Pleasant Grove; three brothers, Ernest Paul, of North Little Rock, Ambrose Paul, of Ward and Bennett Paul, of Michigan; three sisters, Kathy Martin, and Mary Bell Scott, both of Missouri and Lula Bell Erwin, of Star City.
Funeral service was Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Redfield Cemetery.
Nancy Cole Sims
Nancy Cole Sims, 94, of Conway died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Conway.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Mc-Farland of North Little Rock; a son, Pat Sims of Cabot; sister, Dymple Clements of North Little Rock; a grandson; and one great-grandson.
Graveside services were Monday at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway.
Preston Canterberry
Preston Ray Canterberry, 45, of Lonoke died Jan. 15, 2004.
Survivors include two sons, Preston Ray Canterberry II of Texas and Cody Canterberry of Cabot; mother and stepfather, Carolyn (E.G.) Holobar, Texas; father and stepmother, Billy Ray (Barbara) Canterberry, Mississippi; brother, Marty Canterberry, Little Rock; half-sister, Lisa (Canterberry) VanDuser, Illinois; and a half-brother, Craig Canterberry, Michigan.
Services were Monday, Jan. 19, Boyd Funeral Home Chapel in Lonoke with interment at Brownsville Cemetery.
D. L. H. Seidenstricker
Dorothy LaVerne Hemme Seidenstricker, 78, of Hazen died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004.
She was a retired registered nurse. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Ulm, and served on the Altar Guild. She was active in Rice promotion work, Home Demonstration Club work, 4-H club leader and served on the State 4-H Foundation Board.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, L.F. “Fred” Seidenstricker; her two children, Robert H. Seidenstricker of Hazen and Karen S. James of Lonoke; four grandchildren; and her sister, Charlene Faust of Oklahoma.
Services were Jan. l7, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ulm. The burial was private. Arrangements are by Westbrook Funeral Home of Hazen.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the Arkansas 4-H Foundation.
Orie Jean Shirley
Orie Jean Shirley, age 66, formerly of Lonoke, died Jan. 14, 2004.
She is survived by children, James, John, William, Mark, Paul, Vickie Rhein, all of Lonoke, Terry of McRae, and Larry; four brothers and five sisters, all of Michigan; one sister of Kentucky and one from Tennessee; 33 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Monday at Lonoke Apostolic Church with interment in Concord Cemetery

James G. Waddle
James G. “Jake” Waddle of Sherwood died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth (Long) Waddle of Sherwood; a daughter, Susan Wise of Sherwood; and a son, Steven Waddle of Lonoke; one sister, Florabel Hassell of Little Rock; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, Little Rock, was in charge.

Chester Smart
Chester Smart, 82, of Austin died Jan. 16, 2004.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Smart; daughters - Sharon Westmoreland, Linda Weeks, both of Austin, Fran Hackler of Cabot; son, Bobby Smart of Washington; brothers - Bobby Joe Smart and Tommy Dean of Oklahoma; sisters - Bertha Dean of Cabot and Margie Dean of Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Jan. 20, at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, Cabot, and interment at Walters Chapel Cemetery, Hickory Plains.

Jimmy Percifull, 52, of Cabot died Thursday.
Survivors: wife, Christy Percifull; son, Craig Allen Percifull; daughters - Amanda Cross, Amelia Percifull; and a granddaughter.
A memorial service was held Monday at Nettleton United Methodist Church in Jonesboro with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial was private.
Jack Abrams Jr.
Jack Abrams Jr., 79, died Jan. 17, 2004.
Survivors: daughter, Marilyn Edge, Hazen; son, Harold Abrams, Decatur; sister, Opal Thomas, Carlisle; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were Tuesday, Bethel Baptist Church, Carlisle, with interment at Hamilton Cemetery

Jewell Fisher
Jewell Boydston Fisher, 81, of North Little Rock died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004.
She was retired from Dillard’s Department Store with 32 years of service.
She is survived by four sons, Larry Fisher, of North Little, Gerald Fisher, of Vilonia, Barry Fisher, of Aubrey, Texas, and Mike Fisher, of Cabot; three daughters, Frances Ward, of Dallas, Texas, Judy Curtis and Beverly Jarrett, of Conway; two sisters, Betty Cureton and Wanda McCall, both of North Little Rock; 21 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel.
