Lonnie Crowder
Lonnie Eugene “Gene” Crowder, of Ward, born July 16, 1931, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002.
He is survived by three sons, Doug Crowder of Little Rock, Danny Crowder of Cabot, Lonnie Crowder of Little Rock; four daughters, Martha Reid of Ward, Phyllis Taylor of Sheridan, Kathy Knowles of Beebe, Sharon Pledger of Sheridan; 13 brothers and sisters; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Dec. 14, at Sylvania Presbyterian Church with interment in Sylvania Cemetery. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.
Janet M. Eagle
Janet Mashburn Eagle passed away Dec. 15, 2002. She was born Oct. 3, 1925. She was preceded in death by Judge Lewis A. Mashburn and Catheron Mashburn of Little Rock, her parents.
Mrs. Eagle graduated from Hendrix College in 1946. She was gifted with a musical talent and with a natural beauty. She was chosen as Miss Little Rock in 1946.
She and Lieutenant Joe N. (Bo) Eagle of Lonoke were married Nov. 29, 1946. They have three children, James N. Eagle II of Monterey, Calif., his wife Maj-Britt, their children Nathan and Claire Eagle; a second son, Gene Eagle of North Little Rock, his wife Doris, his children Lauren and John Eagle. She is
also survived by their daughter, Catheron and husband, Bill Oviatt, of Lander, Wyo., their children, Qwenton, Hollyn and Ben Oviatt. Mrs. Eagle is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Gip Robertson, of North Little Rock.
Mrs. Eagle taught elementary and junior high school in Quantico, Va., teaching music as well as being the chapel music director. She was a music and choir director, and also taught piano to children and adults alike, at every station while her husband served in the Marine Corps. Mrs. Eagle was also the choir director for many years in the First United Methodist Church upon their return to Lonoke.
Family will receive friends Dec. 18, 2002 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be in the Lonoke First United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m., Dec. 19, 2002. Pallbearers include Fletcher Jackson, Stephen Smith, Rick Bransford, Mac Bennett, Neil Bennett, Jr., and John Tull, III.

James Bulthuis
James Bulthuis, age 73, of Bryant died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002.
He was a retired manager at ATT, served in the Army and was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by two sons, Keith Bulthuis of Bryant and Nicholas Bulthuis of Forest Park, Ill.; three daughters, Cynthia Hatak of Bryant, Sharon Ahls of Benton and Tammy Tanner of Ward; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services, by Ashby Funeral Home, were Wednesday at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. Graveside service was at the St. Adalbert Cemetery
in Chicago.
Ernestine Flake
Ernestine Flake, 76, of North Little Rock died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002.
She was born July 30, 1926, in Austin. She was a member of the 6th & Izard Church of Christ in Little Rock.
She is survived by her daughter, Rita Taggart of Little Rock; three granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Patton of North Little Rock.
Funeral services were Dec. 17, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel in Conway with burial in Cypress Valley Cemetery
in Vilonia.
Memorials may be made to the 6th & Izard Church of Christ in Little Rock.
Connie M. Fincher
Connie Mildred Fincher, age 91, of Little Rock, died Dec. 10, 2002.
She is survived by her daughter, Onedia Finch, of Batesville; one sister, Avanell Reeves, of Warren; two brothers, Dean Palmer, of Pine Bluff and C. T. Palmer of Jacksonville; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A gathering in remembrance of Mrs. Fincher was held Dec. 13, at the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Custom Funerals & Cremations. Interment was in Mt. Springs Cemetery
in Cabot.

Hazel L. Arthur
Hazel L. Arthur, age 76, of Austin, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002.
Surviving are three sons, Rev. Bob Arthur of Garner, Kenny Arthur of Cabot and Ricki Arthur of Sparta, Mo.; one daughter, Nita Romine of Austin; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Memorial service was held Dec. 11, at Garner Baptist Church
Thelma L. Brown
Thelma Lorene Brown, 75, of Cabot, born Sept. 7, 1927, died Dec. 12, 2002 at Rebsamen Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Thelma Clubb; her husband, Jake Byrd Brown; and two sons, Jake Brown Jr. and Waymond Leo Brown.
She is survived by four daughters, Ethel Wood, Ginger Tygart, Kathy Gibson and Susie Gabbard, all of Cabot; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Dec. 14 at the Cabot Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.

Helen Ruth Kerr
Helen Ruth Kerr, 77, of Sherwood died Dec. 12, 2002.
She is survived by five children, Larry Kerr of Tomball, Texas, Mary Lynne McCraw of North Little Rock, Stephen Kerr of El Dorado, Jimmy Kerr of Sherwood, Laura Lewis of Jacksonville; sisters, Lillian Jo Knoedl of Gravel Ridge, and Bette Daniels of Longview, Texas; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were Monday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery
near Cabot.
Theodore F. Ray
Theodore Franklin Ray, 68, of Jacksonville died Dec. 13, 2002.
He served 26 years in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Else Ray of Jacksonville; children, Debrah L. Shelton of Lonoke, Harold D. Ray of Jacksonville, Mark Ray of Maumelle, Ralph Ray of Cabot, Evelyn Witham of Sherwood and Robert Ray of Austin; siblings, Lucille Lambert, Martha Bevins, Jesse Ray and ReaAnn Schultz, all of Sophia, W.Va., Fred Ray of Watkinsville, Ga., Thurman Ray of Ypsilanti, Mich., Thomas Ray of Kitty Hawk, N.C., Naomi Causey of Pensacola, Fla. and Carol Williams of St. Joseph, Ill. and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral was Dec. 16 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock.
Maurine Burns
Maurine Edwards Burns, 80, of Austin, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002.
She was a member of the Oak Church of Christ and a lifetime member of Woodrow Church of Christ. She was retired from Timex Corporation. She was a member of the 16th Section Good Neighbors Club, El Paso Homemakers Extension Club and the Lonoke County Women’s Democratic Club.
Survivors are two daughters, Phyllis Breckenridge of El Paso and Debbie Patrom of Austin; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral was Monday, Dec. 16, at Westbrook Chapel, with burial in Grissard Cemetery.
