Charles W. Robnett

Charles Wesley Robnett, a long-time resident of Stuttgart and the surrounding areas, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at the age of 62.

He was baptized in the Lutheran Faith in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stuttgart. He was a member of the Army National Guard.

He is survived by his father, Alva E. Robnett, and stepmother, Hazel, of Stuttgart; one son, Dustin of Hooks, Texas; and one daughter, Brandi of Jackson, Miss.; three sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Emma) Brandon Jr., Karen Robnett Dabbs, both of Stuttgart, and Mrs. Bennie (Linda) Duch of Griffithville; one step-sister, Lori Jones of Lonoke; and one stepbrother, Dough Wiggins of Smithville, Okla. and five grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at Lone Tree Cemetery Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Stuttgart, by Westbrook Funeral Home of Hazen.

Family requests memorials be made to the Stuttgart Public Library or to the charity or church of their choice.

Carroll Brannon

Carroll “Buddy” Brannon, 68, of Jacksonville died Sept. 2, 2002.
He was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church in Jacksonville.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Bridges Brannon; a son, Daryl Brannon of Nebraska; daughters, Merlene Cook of Cabot and LeVida Bain of Prairie Grove; sisters, Hazel Russell of Arkadelphia and Ruby Sucka of Jacksonville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Sumner Cemetery.

Ecil Esaias Swan

Ecil Esaias Swan, 68, of Cabot died Sept. 2, 2002.

He is survived by his wife, Pearl Swan of Cabot; sons, Richard Bullock of Baton Rouge, La., Randy Swan of Pearson, Ricky Hammon of Austin, Ecil (Sonny) Swan Jr. of Bradford, Tenn., Logan Swan of Searcy; daughters, Rita Swan of Searcy, Janet Swan of Kensett and Beverly Gann of Cabot; brothers, Eldridge Swan of Washington, Norman Swan of Minnesota and Leo Swan of Jonesboro; a sister, Naomi Quinn of Oregon; and 19 grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m., Sept. 5, at Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Beebe Cemetery.

Ethel McWhorter

Ethel Hammon McWhorter, 99, of Lonoke died Aug. 26, 2002.
She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, William Hammon of Mountain View; stepsons, James and Jack McWhorter, both of Benton; a daughter, Abbie Asbille of Lonoke; six stepdaughters, Viola Layfield, Imogene McDade and Genive Mitchell, all of Benton, Juanita Graham of Carlisle, Gladys Hardin of Jacksonville and Ann Pryor of Sherwood; a sister, Mabel Holmes of Memphis; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

Marjorie Kilgore

Marjorie Poteet Kilgore, 91, of Pocahontas, formerly of Cabot, died Aug. 27, 2002.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Downing of St. Louis, Mo.; two grandsons; sisters, Doris Johnson of Reyno, Mary Johnson and Virginia Fischer, both of Pocahontas, and Roxie Rolen of O’Fallon, Mo.

Graveside service was Aug. 30 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot. Cabot Funeral Home was in charge.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

Linda Sue Tolliver

Linda Sue Tolliver, 58, of May-flower died Aug. 30, 2002.
She retired from the Kroger Store on Camp Robinson in North Little Rock.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Tommy Tolliver; sons, Mark Tolliver of Austin, Nick Tolliver, Joseph Lacy Jr. and John A. Lacy, all of North Little Rock; and three grandchildren.

Funeral was Sept. 3 at the Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock.

Charley B. Simpson

Charley Barrett Simpson, born Aug. 12, 1913, died Sept. 3, 2004.
He was a Navy veteran of WWII and a retired painter.

Survivors include three sons, Booker Simpson of Alexander, Limuel Simpson of Lonoke and Hurston Simpson of Little Rock; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceding him in death is his wife of 51 years, Willene Jacobs Simpson; and a daughter, Sara Carey.

Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 6, at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke, with the committal service in Bayou Meto Cemetery, near Lodges Corner.

J C Dill

J C Dill, age 64, of Ward, Arkansas, died Wednesday, September 1, 2004. He was the retired owner of Dill Excavating Co. and a cook at Sue’s Café. He was a man who loved children and was very loyal to his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Sydney Dill of Ward; one son, Ronnie (Beth) Dill of Ward; father-in-law Sid Guyot of Beebe; brother-in-law Bud Guyot and his children of Beebe; sister-in-law Leota Dill of Griffithville; nephews Donnie Dean Dill and Paul Waire both of Griffithville and Charlie Waire of Searcy; niece Marsha Pate of Little Rock; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Myrtle Dill; one brother, Chub Dill; and sisters, Jewel Waire and Shirley Purcell. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family.

Funeral was 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, with burial in Sylvania Cemetery.

Louis Jessie Harrell

Louis Jessie Harrell, 89, of Jacksonville died Aug. 30, 2004. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his sister, Hazel Crow; two daughters - Martha Horn of Hot Springs and Donna Cox of Jacksonville; two sons - Lonnie Walker Harrell of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Jerry Louis Harrell of Cabot; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Thursday at Harmony Baptist Church. Burial was in Harmony Cemetery. North Little Rock Funeral Home was be in charge.

Paulette Deuink

Paulette Deuink, age 54, of Cabot died Sept. 1, 2004. She was born at Jacksonville. She was employed by CenturyTel as an administrative assistant for over 25 years.

She is survived by one son, Matt Nation of Cabot; two daughters, Christy Shearer of Bryant, Michelle Messer and husband Shan of Paragould; one sister, Patricia Healey of Texas; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 4, in the Chapel of Cabot Funeral Home with Lawrence Vowan officiating. Burial followed in Sumner Cemetery.

Joshua Ray Kroha

Joshua Ray Kroha, 12, of Rhinelander, Wis., died Aug. 17, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wis. He attended Rhinelander Catholic Central School. He enjoyed fishing, biking and skateboarding.

Survivors include his parents, Joel and Trudy (Ness) Kroha; brothers, Matthew, Michael and Ryan; his paternal grandparents, John and Marion Kroha of Milwaukee, Wis.; his maternal grandmother, June Ness Martin of Carlisle’ maternal great-grandmother, Florence Maidment of Milwaukee, Wis.
Funeral services were Aug. 21, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rhinelander, Wis. with Deacon Ron Bosi officiating. Interment was in Cassian/Union Grove Cemetery.

Memorial may be made in Josh’s name to Rhinelander Catholic School.

Hugh M. Miller

Hugh M. Miller, age 79, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004.
He was a member of Lonoke Baptist Church, a Navy WWII veteran, stationed on a minesweeper ship, a 32nd Degree Mason having received his 50-year pin, and was a retired mechanic of Missouri Pacific Truck Lines, North Little Rock.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 49 years, Dean Priest Miller, and a daughter, Sue Ann Miller.

He was loved and will be missed by Joe and Rita Moody and other special friends.

Graveside service and final resting place will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Lonoke Cemetery. Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.

Allen L. Sosebee Jr.

Allen Leonard “Lindy” Sosebee Jr., 64, of North Little Rock, died Sept. 5, 2004.
He was a self-employed masonry contractor, a former member and president of the North Little Rock Jaycees. In his early years he was recipient of the Arion Award for his ability to play the trumpet, a member of the Arkansas Razorback Marching Band and former Exhalted Ruler of the North Little Rock Elks Club.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Steven Sosebee of Lonoke and Dr. William Scott Sosebee of Russellville; two daughters, Susan Lynn Sosebee and Shannon Diane Lewis, both of Little Rock; one brother, William Lee Sosebee of North Little Rock.

Funeral services were Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Park. North Little Rock Funeral Home was in charge.

Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 2200 Fort Roots Drive, North Little Rock, Ark., 72114.
