Sharon Norton Toler, 56, of Little Rock died July 26, 2002.
She was a member of Maumelle First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Tim Toler of Little Rock; a son, William “Will” Toler of Wilmington, N.C.; daughters, Cindy Ellington of Cabot, and Wendy Toler of Petersburg, Ill.; her mother, Jessie Norton of Punta Gorda, Fla.; brothers, Ronnie, Gary, Terry and Jerry Norton, all of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and two grandsons.
Funeral arrangements were by Cabot Funeral Home and Moody Funeral Home, Sylva, N.C.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Darrin J. Spence
Darrin James Spence, 36, of Cabot died July 23, 2002.
He was a member of the Marine Corps.
He served on a special task force during the Gulf War.
Survivors include his wife, Kristen Spence; daughters, Breanna Lynne, Braylee Aleen and Brittney Ann Spence; his father and stepmother, Randy and Claire Spence of Parachute, Colo.; his mother, Violet Spence of Lakewood, Calif.; his grandmother, Violet Reely of Canon City, Colo.; and a brother, Scott Spence of San Diego, Calif.
Graveside memorial service was held July 29 at the Arkansas Veterans Cemetery
in North Little Rock by Cabot Funeral Home.
Artie M. Ross
Artie M. Ross, 82, of North Little Rock, died Friday, July 25, 2 002, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Survivors include her daughter, Becky R. Hight; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Born in Cabot, she was a member of First United Methodist Chiurch in North Little Rock. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 2200 Fort Roots Dr., North Little Rock, Ark. 72113; or the William F. Laman Public Librry, 2801 N. Orange, North Little Rock, Ark. 72114.
Funeral service was Monday, July 29, at North Little Rock Funeral Home.
Burial was in Sylvania Cemetery.
James G. Hunter
James Glenn Hunter, 70, of Lonoke died July 25, 2002.
Survivors include a brother.
A memorial service was held July 27 at the home of Glen and Dianne Folsom in the Furlow Community, with arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.
Lilla Louise Smythe
Lilla Louise Smythe, 87, of Cabot, died Sunday,March 24, 2002.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Batesville and an active member of the Democratic party.
She was retired from Baptist Medical Systems as Director of Student Nurses Housing.
Survivors include sons, Billie Joe Smythe, of Searcy, James Smythe of Batesville; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was in 16th Section Cemetery.

Lila Ruth Pearl
Lila Ruth Pearl, 89, died March 18, 2002.
She attended Park Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by one sister, Jean LoCicero of Jacksonville; a son, Bobby Pearl of Cabot; several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were March 21, in the chapel of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.
Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
Guy Kindall
Guy Kindall, 73, died March 18, 2002.
He was a Navy veteran and member of Trinity Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Aline Kindall; son, Michael “Eddie” Kindall of Austin; daughters, Sandra Kindall of Searcy and Patricia Perkins of Lindale, Texas; sister, Dorothy Bryant of Steprock; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were March 20, McEuen Funeral Chapel.
Interment White County Memorial Gardens by McEuen Funeral Home of Searcy.
D. Walter McCroskey
D. Walter “Mac” McCroskey, age 78, of Little Rock died March 19, 2002.
He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII as a metal smith on the USS Mobjack and was a retired sheet metal contractor after 40 years.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Frances (Mattingly) McCroskey; a daughter, Priscilla Henderson, of Benton; a son, David Walter McCroskey, Jr. of Sherwood; a brother, Billy Gene McCroskey of Ward; a half sister, Myrtle Rowland, of Little Rock; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, March 23, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Rosary service was at the funeral home.

Hattie Belle Poole
Hattie Belle Poole, age 92, of Carlisle, died March 15, 2002.
Survivors are her son, Johnnie Poole, North Little Rock; sister, Clara Nichols, Berkeley, Calif.; grandchildren; great-grand-children; great-great-grand-children.
Funeral services were Sunday, Cannan Baptist Church, Carlisle.
Mary B. Pack
Mary B. Pack, age 85, went to be with her Lord on March 21, 2002.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a graduate of Union High School, was Salutatorian of her class, and was past Mother Advisor of the Order of Rainbows.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Samuel E. Pack; children, Samuel E. Pack II, Mary Jean (Boody) Pack and Jo Ann Hutchens; grandchildren, Shawn Pack, Jennifer Bradford, Josh Pack, Holly Hutchens and Kim Hutchens; and two great-grandchildren, Haley and Hannah Bradford.
Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at Lonoke Baptist Church with interment in Lonoke Cemetery
by Boyd Funeral Home.
Edna Davis
Edna L. Holbrook Hoffman Davis, 90, of Little Rock, resident of Newport for over 50 years, died Thursday.
She was a retired LPN for Harris Hospital in Newport.
She is survived by her daughter, Pat White of Little Rock; two sisters, Grace Robertson, Forrest City, and Rachel Baugh, Cabot; three grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday, graveside, at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Dillinger Funeral Home.
