Linda Ann McKiernan, 56, of Benton, died Jan. 19.
She is survived by 3 sisters, Charlene McKiernan of Fayetteville, Valerie Tatum of Kansas City, MO, Christie James of Little Rock.
A private interment was held at Edgewood Memorial Park with Huson Funeral Home in charge.
John “Bill” Smith
Retired MSgt John W. “Bill” Smith, 71, of North Little Rock died Jan. 18, 2002. He served during the Vietnam War with the United State Air Force and was a 32nd degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie; six sons, Timothy of Shannon Hills, Michael of North Little Rock, Joey of Furlow, Dennis of North Little Rock, Calvin of Shannon Hills, and Alan of Furlow; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were Monday at Huson Funeral Home Chapel, Sherwood. Interment was in Butlerville Cemetery, with full
military and Masonic honors.
Bessie Ann Wilson
Bessie Ann Wilson, 88 of Vilonia, born in Lonoke County, died Jan. 18, 2002 in Conway. She was a homemaker and a member of Woodrow Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Mike Wilson of Vilonia; a daughter, Linda Cheney of Jacksonville;; a sister, Ila Foreman of Beebe; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services were Jan. 21 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel in Conway with Richard Kirkland and Ian Bradshaw officiating. Burial was in Sixteenth Section Cemetery.

Lee McGeorge
Lee McGeorge, 52, of Cabot died Feb. 4, 2002.
She was a member of W.I.B.C.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacy Proctor of Alabama; her son, Chris McGeorge of Cabot; two grandchildren; her brother, Michael Downes of Cabot; and her sister, Lisa Downes of Jacksonville.
Graveside service was Feb. 9.
Neva Dell Sutton
Neva Dell Sutton, age 61, of Cabot, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002.
She is survived by a son, Chris Sutton and wife Camille of Collierville, Tenn.; a daughter, Vicki Crump-Childers and husband Darrell of Cabot; her mother, Emily Lybrand of Sheridan; three brothers, Ronald Lybrand of Metarie, La., Howard Lybrand of Sheridan, Jim Lybrand of Benton; a sister, Nelda Butler of Benton; and six grandchildren, Kyle Childers, Kinley, Colton and Hayley Crum and Alex and Christopher Sutton.
Graveside services were Friday, Feb. 1, 2002 at Sylvania Cemetery.

Carolyn Sue Bivens
Carolyn Sue Bivens, 51, of Beebe died Feb. 5, 2002.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Beebe.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Bivens of Beebe; sons, Mark Bivens of Beebe and Owen Bivens of North Little Rock; her mother, Betty Owens of Beebe; and her sister, Kathy Williams of Beebe.
Funeral was Feb. 8 at First Baptist Church, Beebe, with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Beebe.
Betty Ramsay
Betty Wheat Fort Ramsay, 72, of Lonoke died Feb. 8, 2002.
She was retired director of the Lonoke County Council on Aging.
Survivors include sons, Leland G. Fort and Kirk D. Fort, both of Lonoke; a daughter, Becky Baker, of Lonoke; sisters, Ann Martin of Lonoke and Cleo Gustafson of Kansas; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Feb. 11 at Brownsville Assembly of God Church, with burial in Sunset Memorial Garden by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.
Lloyd Elder
Lloyd Lenard “Chot” Elder, 69, of Carlisle died Feb. 10, 2002.
He was born July 19, 1932 in Carlisle. He was a retired drilling contractor and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his later years he worked closely with the vocational classes of the Carlisle Public Schools.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Flo; two brothers, Frank Brewer and James Elder, both of Carlisle; daughters, Patricia McCallie, Linda Waddell and husband, Kim, all of Carlisle, and Carolyn Elder of Stuttgart; a son, Bob Elder of Little Rock; five grandchildren, Steve McCallie and wife, Stephanie, Crystal Callihan and husband, Doug, Wendy McCallie, Kimberly Waddell and Brandon Waddell; and three great-grandchildren, Tim Callihan, Chasity Abshure and Christian Abshure.
A memorial service was conducted by Rev. Wade Shownes and Father Joseph Seiter, Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Carlisle.
Pallbearers were Larry Buffalo, Jerrel Davis, Danny Ebbs, Jim Jestice, Bob McCallie, Steve Martin, Mike Walker and Gary Wilson.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Lloyd Elder Vocational Scholarship Fund, First State Bank, Carlisle, Ark.
Viva Abts
Viva Fran Golden Abts of Cabot, formerly of Jacksonville and Ward, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002. She was 88 years old.
She was a Baptist and a member of the Eastern Star. She served as Past Worthy Matron.
She is survived by two sisters, Iris Golden Blasingame and Agnes Golden Hunter.
Funeral was Feb. 11 at First Baptist Church, Ward, with burial in Stoney Point Cemetery, Beebe.
Laverne O’Neal
Laverne “Jackie” O’Neal, 70, of North Little Rock, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002.
Survivors include two sons, David of Cabot and Keith of Beebe; and three granddaughters.
Graveside services were Monday at Little Rock National Cemetery
Woodrow W. Utley
Woodrow Wilson Utley of North Little Rock died Feb. 8, 2002, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.
He was a veteran of World War II, and retired in 1979 from the Missouri Pacific Railroad after 40 years as a Brakeman and Conductor. He was active in the Scottish Rite Temple in the Valley of Little Rock, where he was most recently honored as a 33 degree Mason. He was a member of the Magnolia Lodge F&AM since 1943.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Emma Lou; one daughter, Beverly Harrison; grandchildren; great-grand-children; and one brother, B.J. Utley of Austin.
Funeral was Monday, Feb. 11, at the Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church, North Little Rock. Interment was in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church.
Jesse D. Morris
Jesse D. Morris, age 96, of Scott, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002.
He was a retired carpenter and a Church of Christ by faith.
He is survived by two daughters, Helen Evans of Plainview, and Peggy Reeder of Heber Springs; a brother, Dudley Morris of Memphis; five sisters, Irma Mullens, Winnie Norman, Mollie Tarbutton, Lois Harvey and Ruby Meyers, all of California; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Sunday at Hamilton Cemetery, Humnoke.
