Tanner Tomasello

JONESBORO — Tanner Tomasello, age 2 months and 11 days, son of Edgar Tomasello and Timberly Horton of Jonesboro, died Saturday at Arkansas Childrens Hospital at Little Rock.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Dale Wayne Walters

BLYTHEVILLE — Dale Walters, 64, of Blytheville died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, at Blythe-ville.

Survivors include wife, Barbara Walters; mother, Lola Lyles Walters Caviness; children, Larry and Ratachadaporn Grant, Dale Jr. and Candy Walters and Kim Walters Avitts; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kelly and Cris Walters, Lewis and June Walters, Ned and Mary Walters, Danny and Cindy Walters and Terry and Kim Walters; and sister and brother-in-law, Cheryle and Mitchell Grissom.

His father, Earl Walters, preceded him in death.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Cobb Funeral Home. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday from 6-8 p.m. in Cobb Funeral Home.

Rosemary Williams

JONESBORO — Rosemary Johnston Williams died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, at St. Bernards Medical Center at Jonesboro following a brief illness.

She was born on May 19, 1929, at Chaffee, Mo., to Mary Alice Polk Johnston and Walter Sewell Johnston. The family became residents of Blytheville in 1936. Mrs. Williams attended Blytheville schools through the eighth grade.

The family moved to Birmingham, Ala., in 1943. They returned to Blytheville in 1946, and she graduated from the local high school in 1947. After graduation, she attended Birmingham Southern at Birmingham, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.

In 1950 she married James M. “Mac” Williams. They were the parents of three children, Alice Causey, James M. “Mac” III and John Sewell. Mrs. Williams was very active in the First United Methodist Church and served as choir director for 16 years.

She was an active member of Chapter D, P.E.O., and served as Regent for the Charlevoix Chapter, Arkansas State Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James M. “Mac” Williams; three children, Alice Williams Nunn “Mrs. Jim” of Brownsville, Tenn., James M. “Mac” Williams III of Gig Harbor, Wash., and his wife Julie, and Dr. John Sewell Williams. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Cap and William Nunn, Callye, Sean and Patrick Williams, and John Charles and Emily Williams.

Visitation for Mrs. Williams will be in First United Methodist Church tonight from 5-7 in the sanctuary.

A memorial service will follow Monday morning at 10:30 in the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church of Blytheville or to the charity of your choice.

Danick Adams

JACKSONVILLE — Dan­ick Adams, 18, of Jacksonville, formerly of Newport, died Friday, Aug. 15.

She is survived by her daughter, Nevaeh Bridgette Castro; mother, Amy Adams of Jacksonville; father, Allen Chambers of Rogers; brother, Justin Hines; sisters, Morgan and Olivia Chambers and Vivian Biles; maternal grandparents, Doug Adams and Arlene Martin and husband Mark; maternal great-grandparents, Tillie Adams and Sam Adams; paternal grandparents, Gary and Karen Chambers; paternal great-grandfather, Rudolph Fletcher; and her stepgrandparents, Fred and Beverly Hines.

Funeral serves will be at 2 p.m. today in Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation was Sunday.

James Donald Fitzgerald

PARAGOULD — James Donald Fitzgerald, 89, of Paragould departed this life on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Greene Acres Nursing Home.

He was born on Aug. 27, 1918, in Greene County to A.F. and Lee Vertie Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald was a retired farmer and a charter member of Stanford Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Walter, Carlton and Earl; and one sister, Beatrice Fitzgerald.

He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Fitzgerald of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Rudy Vines of Oklahoma City; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Ronald and Sherma Dicus; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Linda and Dewayne Weese; sisters-in-law, Ruby and Mary Emma Fitzgerald, all of Paragould; four stepgrandsons; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; one nephew; and one great-nephew.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Sam Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight in Mitchell Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to St. Bernards Hospice, 1726 Marie Circle, Jonesboro 72401.

Alan Lee Jackson

BLACK ROCK — Alan Jackson, 47, died Saturday, Aug. 16, at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Jackson; and a sister, Sandy Blazer.

Survivors include his children, Casey Passmore, Amanda Puckett, Jason Duncan and Scott Jackson; his mother, Doris Darris; sisters, Donna Ashby and Charlotte McGarrah; brothers, Junior, Eugene, Frankie and Steve Jackson; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. in House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge with Jason Jackson officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. until time of service in the funeral home.

Burial will be private.

Donald Lee Owens

HOXIE — Donald Owens, 71, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Memphis.

A U.S. Navy veteran and retired factory worker, he lived most of his life in Lawrence County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister and a granddaughter.

Survivors include a son, David Owens of Bono; daughter, Marie Ford of Jonesboro; sister, Anita Duncan of Walnut Ridge; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be today at 3 p.m. in Strangers Home Cemetery near Alicia with Ryan Johnston officiating.

Visitation will be today from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in House-Gregg Funeral Home at Walnut Ridge.

Helen Renshaw

TRUMANN — Helen Louise Renshaw of Trumann died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at the family residence in Trumann at the age of 48.

The daughter of James Houston and Edna Smith Davis, she was born Aug. 9, 1960, at Memphis. She was a lifetime member of the Trumann area, a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.

Mrs. Renshaw was preceded in death by her father, James Houston Davis; one sister, Janie Eldridge; and three brothers, Bobby Lee Davis, Danny Davis and James Earl Davis.

Survivors include a daughter, April Vickers of Trumann; two sons, Mark Renshaw of Trumann and Wally Renshaw of Oceanside, Calif.; her mother, Edna Davis of Trumann; one brother, James R. Davis of Trumann; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann with the Rev. Floyd Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery of Harrisburg.

Pallbearers will be Stan Brown, Steve Grimes, Charles Odom, Jason Ray Vickers, Rex Smith and Leroy Turner.

Visitation will be today from 5-7 p.m. in Thompson Funeral Home.

Betty Earlene Walls

MARMADUKE — Services for 61-year-old Betty Earlene Walls of Paragould, formerly of Marmaduke, who passed away on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at her home, are scheduled for today at 3 p.m. in Irby Funeral Home Chapel at Marmaduke.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. today in the chapel. Interment will be in Hartsoe Cemetery at Marmaduke.

Survivors include her husband, Dewayne Walls; son Larry Walls and wife Teresa; two daughters, Tammy Newell and Connie McDowell and husband Nicki; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers; two sisters; and many other loving family and friends.

Dorothy Dolores Beardslee

HARDY — Dorothy Dolores Beardslee, 67, of Hardy died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Little Rock.

Dorothy was born Sept. 24, 1940, at Cartersville, Ga., the daughter of Charles and Alice Mae Matthews Alford. She was united in marriage to Dean Beardslee on Jan. 1, 1973, at Moss Point, Miss. She was retired from the Boeing Co.

She moved to Hardy in 1999 from Renton, Wash., with her family. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church at Cherokee Village.

Survivors include her husband Dean of the home; one son, Thomas Beardslee of Cherokee Village; one daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Bill Duncan of Hardy; one sister, Nina Bohl of Grand Bay, Ala.; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and William.

A Latin funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. in St. Michael’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Terrance Gordon FSSP, officiating. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery at Jonesboro. Arrangements are under the direction of Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.

Visitation will be held this evening from 5-7 at the funeral home with rosary service at 6 p.m.
