Martin Eggensperger

MAYNARD — Martin Eggensperger, 67, of Maynard died Tuesday, Aug. 5, at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Michael Cosper and Robert Eggensperger.

He was a school teacher at Blytheville, Mississippi County Community College and Maynard, where he retired.

He is survived by his wife, Faye of the home; four children, Joyce Duncan, Carla Tabieros, Martin Eggensperger and Roy Eggensperger; eight grandchildren; one brother, Dennis; and one sister, Deloras.

Services will be Thursday at 6 p.m. in Cox-Waymon Funeral Home Chapel at Pocahontas.

Visitation will be tonight from 6-8 in the chapel.

Lois ‘Joan’ Ferguson

PARAGOULD — Lois “Joan” Yeargain Ferguson, 65, Paragould, died Sunday at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

She was the daughter of the late Roy and Ethel Nolen Yeargain.

Survivors include her daughters and their spouses, Donna and David Kisner of Ocean Springs, Miss., Judy and Rich Sisak of Florissant, Mo., Kathy Ferguson of Sparta, N.C., and Linda Champ of Florissant; sister-in-law, Rose Yeargain of St. Louis; brother, Bill Yeargain of Marble Hill, Mo.; sisters, Mary Blalock of Udall, Mo., and Carol Skaggs of Benson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

No public services are planned.

Marguerite Price Gardner

LITTLE ROCK — Marguerite Price Gardner of Little Rock passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008.

She was born in Little Rock Nov. 26, 1914, to Carl L. Price and Mildred Empfield Price. Her mother died when she was a year old, and she was raised by her father and loving stepmother, Chlora Wheat Price.

She was predeceased by her husband, Milton E. Gardner, in 1995 after 62 years of marriage.

She is survived by her daughter, Carla Brunner (Frank) of Marked Tree; son, John M. “Chuck” Gardner (Betty) of Little Rock; her grandchildren, Philip Brunner, Stewart Brunner, Elizabeth Morrison (Thad), Price Gardner (Sara) and Lisa Ring (Chris); her great-grandchildren, Brittany Milligan (Kenny), Eric Brunner, Austin and Rebecca Ring, Megan and David Gardner, Michael, Mary, Hattie and Zoe Morrison. Madison Smith, Maizy and Marleigh Milligan are great-great-grandchildren.

Two cousins, Ruth Purrman and Louella Bevill of Mulberry Grove, Ill., also survive her.

Marguerite was educated in Little Rock public schools, and after graduating from LRHS in 1931, she attended Arkansas Tech, where she met Milton. They were married in Tupelo on Sept. 3, 1933, and returned to Little Rock. She worked for the U.S. government during World War II with the FBI background investigation division.

After the war she worked part-time with her cousin, Maysel Goss, at the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce. Later she was bookkeeper for McOsker-Gardner Co., her husband’s food brokerage firm.

She was a member of Prodeo and Little Rock Departmental Club. She leaves for us to remember her care of others and her love of animals, reading and gardening.

She was a member of Pulaski Heights Baptist Church, Fidelis Sunday School Class and attended First United Methodist Church while residing in Marked Tree with her daughter.

Visitation will be this evening from 6-8 at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock.

Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Dr. Randy Hyde officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Pulaski Heights Baptist Church HIS committee, St. Bernards Hospice of Jonesboro or the Pulaski County Humane Society.

Delma Garrison

FLINT, Mich. — Delma Beulah Garrison, 88, of Flint, Mich. died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and have been entrusted to Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Royce Armon Henry

AVON PARK, Fla. — Royce Armon Henry, 85, of Avon Park, Fla., passed away at home on July 23, 2008.

He was born Oct. 10, 1922, in Jonesboro and was the son of the late William Ira and Clifferd Adams Henry.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Henrietta Hendrix Henry; three children and their spouses, Ralph and Jana Henry of Avon Park, Meroe and Robert Wheatley of Wilmington, N.C., and Clifford and Wilma Henry of Sebring, Fla.; five grandchildren, Karla and Ray Respress of Avon Park, Katie and Stuart Mackey of Riverview, Fla., Scott Wheatley of Charlotte, N.C., Robyn and Ryan Taylor of Greensboro, N.C., and Matthew Henry of Sebring; and one great-grandchild, Kylie Taylor of Greensboro.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Avon Park. He moved to Avon Park in 1962 after retiring with the rank of master sergeant with 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. He served as director of facilities for South Florida Community College from 1972 until he retired in 1988. He was awarded an honorary doctorate for his exceptional service to the college.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 100 North Lake Ave., Avon Park 33825, or Hope Hospice, 4840 Sun North Lake Blvd., Sebring 33872.

Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home of Avon Park handled funeral arrangements.

Natalie Michelle Lamb

WYNNE — Natalie Michelle Lamb, infant, of Wynne died Saturday at Memphis.

She was born Aug. 2, 2008, at Regional Medical Center to Brandon Lamb and Tabatha Johnson.

Survivors include her parents; grandparents, Evadell and Jesse Jones, Wayne Johnson, Craig Lamb and Kathy Swaite, all of Wynne; and five great-grandparents.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Thompson-Wilson Wynne Funeral Home. Interment will be private.

Visitation will be from 9-10 before services.

George Monty Lancaster

VIOLA — George Monty Lancaster, 55, of Viola died Monday at his home.

Services will be today at 10 a.m. in Cox-Blevins Chapel with burial to follow in Viola Cemetery under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.

Survivors include his sister, Kathy King and husband, Jerry of Swifton; two nephews, Scott Lancaster of Viola and Brian King of Jonesboro; two nieces, Candy Wray and Julie Keton, both of Swifton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Mildred Lorene ‘Granny’ Mangrum

MONETTE — Lorene Mangrum, 84, of Monette went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

She was a faithful member of Monette Church of Christ and lifetime resident of the Buffalo Island area. Granny was a volunteer for Buffalo Island Central Elementary for nine years. She loved animals very much and leaves behind her faithful companion, Rosco.

She leaves a legacy behind with precious memories of her loving family. Survivors include one son, Donnie Mangrum and wife Kayla of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; three daughters, Marcie Strickland, Sandy Copeland and husband Rickey, all of Monette, and Pam Mangrum of the home; a granddaughter who she raised, Stahr Mangrum of the home; two sisters, Nina Finch of Monette and Margaret Fletcher of Caraway; nine additional grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Boss Whitley; her husband, Fred Mangrum; a brother, Lawrence Whitley; and two sisters, Nettie Porter and Emma Fetter.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. today in the Monette Church of Christ with Don Mangrum and Rickey Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in Monette Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Bob Blankenship, Larry Woodward, Byron Sparkman, Kevin Baldridge, Dewayne Couch and Bob George.

Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Monette Church of Christ.

Those wishing to give lasting memorials may do so by donating to the platelet ministry at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis or the Humane Society.

Royce Eugene Riley Sr.

JONESBORO — Royce Riley Sr., 66, died Monday at St. Bernards Medical Center.

He had previously lived in California and Black Rock before moving to Jonesboro four years ago. He was a former truck driver, mechanic and of the Pentecostal faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Vera Busby Riley, and stepfather, William Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Pugh Riley of the home; daughters, Shawna Riley of California, Terri Monfort of Oklahoma and Rhonda Hibbard of Paragould; sons, Royce Riley Jr. of Black Rock, Kenny Riley of Walnut Ridge and Wendell Davis of Amagon; father, William Riley; and sister, Mary Jo, both of Atlanta; 21 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge with Wayne Bryant and Nevin Rnagy officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Waldrupe, Bryan Chesser, Jonathan Riley, David Smith, Bobby Willis and David Inman.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Linnie Rose Robertson

TRUMANN — Mrs. Linnie Rose Robertson, 81, of Trumann died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at the family residence.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
