Donna Kay Powell Frost, 56, of Texarkana, Ark., died Saturday, March 13, 2004, in Emmet, Ark.
Ms. Frost was born Sept. 20, 1947, in Nashville, Ark. She was retired from GTE, an employee of Valor Telecom and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Leslie Rae Frost.
Survivors include three sisters, Jo Ann Arnett of Emmet and Jean Womack and Peggy Sue Houser of Texarkana; three brothers, James Henry Powell of Lompoc, Calif., and Robert "Bob" Powell and Larry A. Powell of Texarkana; and a number of other relatives.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in East Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial will be under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home of Larry Powell, 901 E. 43rd St., Texarkana, Ark.
PETER KELLY
De QUEEN, Ark. - Peter Jonathan Kelly, 54, of De Queen died Monday, March 8, 2004, in a Hot Springs, Ark., hospital.
Mr. Kelly was born Nov. 8, 1949, in New Orleans. He was a former employee of Strategic Petroleum Reserve, a member of the American Legion, Marine Corps Foundation and First Baptist Church, Gillham, Ark., and a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Hankins Kelly of De Queen; two sons, Peter Jonathan Kelly II of South Riding, Va., and Jason Michael Kelly of Crawfordville, Fla.; one daughter, Athena Kelly Holmes of De Queen; two brothers, Kenneth Kelly of Terrytown, La., and Robert Kelly of Kenner, La.; one sister, Denise Holzhauser of Gonzales, La.; three grandchildren, Alysia Kelly, Paul Kelly and Cydney Holmes; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Gillham First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob McManus officiating. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery, Gillham, under direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

LITTLE ROCK - Thomas F. "Tommy" Garrett, 80, of Mountain Home, Ark., died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, in a Mountain Home hospital.
Mr. Garrett was born June 12, 1923, in McClellan, Ark. He was retired from the Department of Defense, former employee of Red River Army Depot, a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans,
Korean War Veterans, Ozark VFW Post 3246, First Cavalry Division Association and First Christian Church and an Army veteran of the
Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Frances V. Garrett of Mountain Home; one son and daughter - in - law, Thomas A. "Sonny" and Kim Garrett of Mountain Home; one sister, Dorothy Rowland of Augusta, Ark.; one half - brother, Walter Garrett; two grandchildren, Samuel Eli Garrett and Amelia Morgan Garrett of Mountain Home; one great - granddaughter, Bethany Garrett of Mountain Home; two special friends, Ronny and Sabre Baker; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lee Nirschl officiating. Burial will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens with military rites by the North Central Arkansas Veterans Council.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
HATTIE HAWTHORNE
NASHVILLE, Ark. - Hattie L. Hawthorne, 68, of Nashville died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Hawthorne was born Oct. 26, 1935, in Tollette, Ark. She was a member of Schaal Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hawthorne.
Survivors include four brothers, Frankie Coleman of Lockesburg, Ark., Lonzo Coleman of Alleene, Ark., Ray Coleman of News, Okla., and William Earnest Coleman of Hanston, Kan.; one sister, Nona Mae Wilson of Shreveport, La.; two special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Fritts of Schaal, Ark.; and a number of other relatives.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today in Columbus Cemetery
with Ronnie Morris officiating. Burial will be under direction of Nashville Funeral Home.

HERSCHELL TEAGUE
NASHVILLE, Ark. - Herschell R. Teague, 68, died Sunday, March 7, 2004.
Mr. Teague was born Jan. 1, 1935, in Mineral Springs, Ark. He was a teacher with Mineral Springs and Saratoga schools, founder of Teague and Teague Insurance, member of St. Martin's Catholic Church, Nashville, Chamber of Commerce president, member and past president of the school board and a
Korean War Marines veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Cay Carlton Teague of Nashville; two sons and daughters - in - law, David and Helen Teague of Oklahoma City and Larry and Debbie Teague of Nashville; his mother, Johnnie Teague of Nashville; one sister and brother - in - law, Blanche and Eddie Harrison of Scottsboro, Ala.; four grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at St. Martin's Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Rehkemper officiating. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park under direction of Nashville Funeral Home.

Ruby Mae Smith, 89, of Fouke, Ark., died Monday, March 8, 2004.
Mrs. Smith was born Nov. 13, 1914, in Omaha, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of Fairland Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl H. Smith.
Survivors include one daughter and son - in - law, Martha and Charles Reed of Fouke; two sons and one daughter - in - law, Cecil and Helen Smith of Fouke and Tony Smith of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Dovie Tefteller of Texarkana and Jessie Bishop of Fouke; one granddaughter and grandson - in - law, Denise and Woody Woodruff of Redwater, Texas; two great - grandsons; and one great - great - granddaughter.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fairland Holiness Church with the Revs. Lloyd Shuecraft and Ben Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery
under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.

De QUEEN, Ark. - George Harold Garrett, 85, of De Queen died Sunday, March 7, 2004.
Mr. Garrett was born Oct. 15, 1918, in Benton, Ark. He was retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a member of Disabled American Veterans and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Eugenia Medlock Garrett of De Queen; two sons, Richard Hugh Garrett of Sherman, Texas, and Gary Harold Garrett of Grand Junction, Colo.; four grandchildren; one great - grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Rosemont Cemetery, Benton, with John Garrett officiating. Burial will be under direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

ASHDOWN, Ark. - David Scott Lasley, 57, of Texarkana died Thursday, March 4, 2004.
Mr. Lasley was born Sept. 27, 1946, in Texarkana. He was a former employee of The Salvation Army in Lufkin and a member of The Salvation Army Church.
Survivors include one brother, Michael Lasley of Texarkana; two sisters and one brother - in - law, Linda Brower of Fort Worth, Texas, and Judy and Earl Hilton of Maud, Texas; two special friends, Ed and Hannah Whitherspoon of Texarkana; and a number of nieces and nephews, including Shane Hale of Red Lick.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today in Rock Creek Cemetery. Burial will be under direction of Hamburg Funeral Home.

De QUEEN, Ark. - Earl E. Hughes, 83, of Texarkana, Ark., died Saturday, March 6, 2004, in a Texarkana hospital.
Mr. Hughes was born Jan. 16, 1921, in Sevier County, Ark. He was a member of the Oklahoma Bar.
Survivors include two brothers, Norman Otis Hughes of Paden, Okla., and Bobby Weldon Hughes of Texarkana; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. today in Redmen Cemetery
with the Rev. Faron Rogers officiating. Burial will be under direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
HIRAM BUFFINGTON JR.
MAGNOLIA, Ark. - Hiram Buffington Jr., 89, of McNeil, Ark., died Thursday, March 4, 2004, in a Camden, Ark., hospital.
Mr. Buffington was born July 7, 1914, in Columbia County, Ark.
Survivors include his wife, Virda Buffington of Stephens, Ark.; a number of children; four sisters; one brother; and other relatives.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Marks Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Darrion Buffington and James Scott officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery, McNeil.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
