Derrick Matthew Rowe
PARAGOULD -- Derrick Matthew Rowe, 17, of Paragould came into this life on September 10, 1988.
He was called to his eternal home on July 3, 2006.
His last days were spent in Lebonheur Children's Medical Center at Memphis.
Derrick graduated from Paragould High School on May 15, 2006.
He was an active member of the Future Farmers of America and the Happy Trails Riding Club. He was an avid hunter, a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club, an employee of Arkansas Storm Shelter and Septic and of Church of Christ faith.
Derrick was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Oval and Mable Haynes, and Everett and Gracie Rowe.
He is also preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ted Banks, and his paternal great-grandparents, Edward and Prudie Banks.
He is survived by his mother, Marsha Hill; his father and step-mother, Kevin and Missy Banks, all of Paragould; his sister, Jessica Eakins; his maternal grandparents, Ruth "Nana" Rowe of Jonesboro and Carmon and Sue Rowe of Florence, Ala.; his paternal grandmother, Louise Banks, and his paternal step-great grandmother, Thelma Banks, both of Paragould. Derrick is also survived by his "special parents," Beverly and Dennis Hammon, his special "Sis," Darrian Hammon and his "special grandpa," Roy Barrow; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Kevin Banks, Dennis Hammon, Richard Carroll, Randall Carroll, Aaron Pugsley III and Aaron Pugsley IV.
Honorary pallbearers will be his agriculture teachers from Paragould High school, Mr. James Potter and Mr. Johnny Clark, Jeremy Ward, and the members of the Paragould High School chapter of the FFA.
Visitation will be 6:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Heath Funeral Home at Paragould with L.R. Smith officiating and burial following in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Arkansas 135 North.
Heath Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Edward 'Hink' Walker
MOUNTAIN HOME -- Funeral services for Edward Eugene "Hink" Walker of Mountain Home will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 7, in Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Howell officiating.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today in Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home. Mr. Walker was 78.
Edward Eugene Walker was born May 4, 1928, at Des Arc, to William Frank and Effie Josephine Linton Walker. He married Mary Imogene Fry on Nov. 20, 1948, at Sedgwick.
Mr. Walker worked in the printing industry for more than 30 years. He and his wife settled in Chicago in 1945. They retired back to Walnut Ridge in 1993 and then to Mountain Home in 1998.
Mr. Walker was a member of the Assembly of God family and served as an usher for numerous years. He was a steadfast and faithful servant to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, visiting family and friends, and miscellaneous craft projects.
Edward Walker is survived by two sons, David and his wife Virginia Walker, of Libertyville, Ill., and Steven and his wife Nancy Walker of Fort Wayne, Ind.; four grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Kyle and Lindsey Walker; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Walker; seven brothers, Alva, Lilbourn Hayes, Gardner "Doc" Wyatt, James Otto, Ray Linton, Gaylon Scott and William Frank Walker; and two sisters, Georgia and Lela Mae Walker.
Burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery
with Matthew Walker, Kyle Walker, Keith Morris, Bruce Morris, Bob Walker and Lanny Walker as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Morris and Jim Griffin.
Arrangements are by Kirby-Boaz Funeral Directors.
Ruby Marie Brooks
VAN BUREN -- Ruby Marie Brooks, age 74, of Van Buren, the widow of Mr. Lyman "L.A." Brooks, died Thursday at Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith.
Born in Leachville, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas and Delilah Marie Hicks Fortson. She had been a Leachville resident before making her home in Van Buren three and one-half years ago.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Fortson; a brother, Robert Fortson; and two sisters, Sue Hodge and Barbara Blocker.
Survivors include three daughters, Tina McCoy and her husband Melvin of Leachville, Mary Lewis and her husband Allan of Van Buren and Terrie Broyles and her husband Ed of Barling; five brothers, Billy Joe Fortson of McDonough, Ga., Earl Fortson of Barnsville, Ga., Charles Fortson of Hackett, Ronnie Fortson of Manila and Randall Fortson of Hornersville, Mo.; and one sister, Shirley Hamilton of Hackett. She also leaves four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Howard Funeral chapel in Leachville with Mr. David Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Gainesville Cemetery
near Paragould.
The family will receive visitors Sunday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Brent Cox, Chad McCoy, Joe Black, Dean Fortson, Melvin McCoy, Allan Lewis and Ed Broyles.

MONETTE -- Kathy Drummond, 61, died Friday, July 14, 2006 in UAMS at Little Rock.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
Willo Dean Free
WYNNE -- Willo Dean Free, 87, of Wynne died Friday, July 14, 2006, at Crest Park of Wynne. She was born Dec. 2, 1918, in Vardaman, Miss.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Will and Sophia Murphy Spratlin.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Free; two daughters, Judy Frankenstein and Susan Rolley; one brother, three sisters, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne. Interment is at Cogbill Cemetery
in Wynne.
Visitation is 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Treana Galloway
SHADY GROVE -- Mrs. Treana R. Galloway, 49, died Thursday, July 13, 2006.
Galloway is survived by husband Butch Galloway; two sons, Mathew and Mark Galloway; two daughters, Cynthia Hill, Tina Galloway; three brothers, James, Wayne and Daniel Plunkett; six sisters, Katherine Baney, Martha Davis, Doris Proctor, Betty Knight, Shirley Morris and Jennie Plunkett; and nine grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by parents James and Faye Plunkett, one sister and one brother.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today in Highway Valley Church. Interment will be in Holly Springs Cemetery. Arrangements by Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home.
Blake Anthony Wiencek
GOSNELL -- Blake Anthony "Jax" Wiencek, 7-week-old son of Shannon Ciepiela Karr and Bernell Wiencek of Gosnell, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006.
Survivors include his brother, Ryan James Karr; sister, Victoria Deboard; grandparents, Keith Anthony and Doris Ann Ciepiela and Bernell Wiencek Sr.; step-grandmother, Carol Wiencek, all of Gosnell; great-grandparents, William and Louise Welsh of Charleroi, Pa., and Helen Zyski Dins of Monessen, Pa.; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time.
Sandra Jane Wilson
WYNNE -- Sandra Wilson, 64, of Wynne died July 13, 2006, at Cross Ridge Community Hospital in Wynne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn and Era Tackett; one son, George Wilson; two daughters, Robin and Lisa Wilson; one sister and one brother.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Wilson; one son; two brothers; two sisters; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Monday at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne. Interment is at Halk Cemetery
in Wynne.
Visitation is Monday from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ona Billingsley
GLENCOE -- Ona Marie Anderson Billingsley, 71, of Glencoe passed away Sunday, July 16, 2006, at Mountain Home.
She was born Aug. 24, 1934, at Franklin, the daughter of the late Monroe Albert and Leota Edith Troxler Anderson.
She was a beautician and was a member of Franklin Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard Billingsley; one grandson, Gene Tharp; and two granddaughters, Christy Carlton and Angela Carlton.
Survivors include two daughters, Dian Carlton of Paragould and Robin Tharp of Glencoe; two brothers, Calvin Anderson of Wenatchee, Wash., and Johnny Anderson of Ohio; a sister, Joyce Lee of Malgia, Wash.; five grandchildren, Misty Thomas of Leachville, Amie Cole of Paragould, Chad Carlton of Jonesboro, Zac Tharp of Glencoe and Brina Camet of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday in Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday following visitation in Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel with Harold Russell officiating.
Burial will follow in Roberts Cemetery
at Franklin.
Pallbearers are Zac Tharp, Tim Thomas, Chad Carlton, Steven Cole, Wayne Billingsley and Jerry Floyd.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.
