Mrs. Cecilia C. Geels

Mrs. Cecilia C. Geels, 92, of Scranton died Wednesday, May 7, 1997, at Russellville.

She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Morrison Bluff, St. Anne's Mother Society, and Catholic Women's Union, daughter of the late William and Appolonia Raible Wewers, and widow of Joseph Geels.

She is survived by four daughters, Lona Seiter and Evelyn Wofford, both of Fort Smith, Jo Ann Brandow of Rhineland, Wis., and Marie Needham of Russellville; one son, Tony Geels of Scranton; one sister, Lona Wall of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, William Wewers of Fort Smith and Al Wewers of Kansas City, Kan.; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great-grandchildren.

Rosary was at 7 p.m. Friday, May 9, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Morrison Bluff. Funeral mass was at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with burial in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.

Pallbearers were grandsons, David Seiter, Tim Seiter, Jerry Seiter, Mick Wofford, Jason Needham, and Dennis White.

Mrs. Dora M. Myers

Mrs. Dora Magaleen Myers, 89, of Fort Smith, grandmother of Jo Ann Gassaway of Lamar, died Saturday, May 3, 1997, in a Fort Smith nursing home.

She was a native of Denning, daughter of the late Steve and Lula Richert English, and widow of James A. Myers.

She is survived by one daughter, Ina Mae Freeman of Chicago Heights, Ill.; one son, James A. Myers Jr. of Muldrow, Okla.; one stepdaughter, Imogene Hill of Denning; one stepson, B. A. Myers of Ohio; two sisters, Susie Foster of Ozark and Lorene Crabtree of Barling; one brother, George English of Altus; eight other grandchildren, Bill Myers of Fort Smith, Kathy Chandler and Jamie Myers, both of Muldrow, Okla., Sherry Creek of Tulsa, Okla., Donna Hendricks of Cedarville, Randy Gassaway of Altus, Ronnie Gassaway of Ozark, and Terry Gassaway; 15 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, May 5, at Hartford Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Ben Kirk and Rev. Dale Howard officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Mrs. Margaret Patton

Mrs. Margaret C. Patton, 79, of Clarksville died Tuesday, May 6, 1997, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Lamar, daughter of the late Charlie Gus and Caroline Louise Drittler Schlafke, and a member of the East Mount Zion Baptist Church and the Coal Hill VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Patton; one daughter, Christine Schoening of Kearney, Neb.; three sons, Dennis Patton of Little Rock, Kenneth Patton of Russellville, and Terry Patton of London; two sisters, Eula Cable of Omaha, Neb., and Bertha Holman of Lamar; one brother, Charles Schlafke of Oregon; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at East Mount Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating.

Burial was in Stillwell Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Buddy Beavers, Carl Curtis, Doyle Jordan, Mike Mee, Shelby Shook, and Roy Shook.

Mrs. Nelle H. Morgan

Mrs. Nelle Hardin Morgan, 87, of Spadra died Tuesday, May 8, 1997, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Spadra, daughter of the late James Newton and Genora Caroline Middlebrook Hardin, and a member of the Spadra Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, organist, and pianist for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Clyde "Chic" Morgan; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Richard Leisman of Maumelle, Ruth and Larry Burnham of Fort Smith, and Rachel and Harold Johnson of Clarksville; one son and daughter-in-law, C. D. and Barbara Morgan of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two brothers, Cotney Hardin of Russellville and Delmas Hardin of Little Rock; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at the Spadra Methodist Church with Rev. Robert "Bob" Oden and Rev. Steve Hearrell officiating.

Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were David Morgan, Doug Morgan, Grant Johnson, Mike Johnson, Steve Burnham, Pat Burnham, Eric Leisman, and Derek Dishner.

Mrs. Thelma M. Hughes

Mrs. Thelma Mae Hughes, 83, of Clarksville died Saturday, April 26, 1997, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, 25-year member of Mt. Vernon Grange No. 847, long-time member of the American Legion, daughter of the late Elmer and Mabel Mae Sundberg Coleson, and widow of Barnard T. Hughes.

She is survived by one cousin, Harriet Swanson of California.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 15, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lance Jones officiating.

Mrs. Wanda Lee Loch

Mrs. Wanda Lee Loch, 63, of Clarksville died Friday, May 9, 1997, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.

She was a daughter of the late Elmer Jerry and Addie Mae Skiles Shade and attended the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jesse Loch; three daughters, Linda M. Loch of Salton City, Calif., Karen J. Gibson of Chino Hill, Calif., and Lisa Fretwell of Clarksville; one son, Gary P. Loch of Clarksville; one sister, Emma Helton of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, Edward D. Shade of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, May 12, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Morris officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Edgar Brown, Tom Fretwell, Ross Dillingham, Larry Kern, Harlen Gattis, and Wendell Stumbaugh.

Mrs. Bonnie W. King

Mrs. Bonnie Wilson King, 90, of Clarksville died Wednesday, July 23, 1997, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.



She was a native of Hartman, daughter of the late Harlow and Etta Phillips Wilson, lifelong resident of Johnson County, graduate of Hartman High School and The College of the Ozarks, member of the Harmony Presbyterian Church, and was employed as a county supervisor for ARVAC for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Ferrell King; one son, Keith King of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Terry Don King of Fort Smith and Stephanie King of Marble Falls, Texas; two great-grandchildren, London King of Altus and Austin Cole King of Fort Smith; one niece, Ann Wells of Orange, Calif.; and one nephew, Arch Wilson Conway of Cota de Caza, Calif.



Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at the Harmony Cemetery with Burley King officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Mrs. Billie Jean Martin

Mrs. Billie Jean Martin, 57, of Knoxville died Sunday, July 27, 1997, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a daughter of the late James Author and Nora Mae Crotts Callahan.

Survivors include her husband, Willard Martin; one daughter, Karen Marvel of Lamar; one son, Michael Berg of Lamar; three sisters, Betty Petersen of Oark and Viola Zahn and Izola Drittler, both of Lamar; two brothers, Roy Callahan of Lamar and Vincent Callahan of Dewitt; and five grandchildren, Donnie Lin Marvel, Dustin Allen Marvel, Jarrod Berg, Whitney Berg, and Sierra Berg.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 31, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Lamar Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Glen Morgan, Donnie Marvel, Gary Garrison, Glen Garrison, Lee Warren, and Chad Kendall.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Jack Faye Harger

Jack Faye Harger, 71, of Coal Hill died Tuesday, July 29, 1997, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.

He was a native of Denning, son of the late James and Johnnie Dorrough Harger, Protestant, retired truck driver, member of the VWF, served in the U. S. Navy and U. S. Marines, veteran of World War II, and Purple Heart recipient.

He is survived by one sister, Wilma Hecker of Coal Hill; one brother, Shannon Harger of Little Rock; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 31, at Coal Hill Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Pallbearers will be Bud Hoing, Robert Wall, Bentley Yates, Gene Harger, Jim Harger, and David Torres.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark.
