Karen Lanier Upchurch, 53, of Ashdown, Ark., died Monday, April 10, 2006, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Upchurch was born Feb. 27, 1953, in Naples, Texas. She worked at Candle Corp. of America and was a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Nicole Nichols and Reena Upchurch of Wake Village, Texas; her father, Charles Lanier of Wake Village; one brother, Roger Lanier of Texarkana, Ark.; three grandchildren, Alexiaus Nichols, Randel Daniels Jr. and Antonio Daniels; her fiance, Guy Loe of Ashdown; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of East Funeral Home, Moores Lane.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The family will be at 521 Northwest Drive, Wake Village.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Wilmer Jones, 48, of Texarkana, Ark., died Sunday, April 9, 2006, at his home.

DANNY WALLACE
Danny Wallace, 62, of Fouke, Ark., died Saturday, April 8, 2006, at his home.
Mr. Wallace was born Jan. 3, 1944, in Texarkana. He was an employee of Davis Lumber Co. He was preceded in death by one son, David Craig Wallace; and one daughter, Susan Danette Wallace.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Wallace; two sons, Dustin Wallace of Fouke and Tanner Martin of Nash, Texas; two daughters, Brandy Ward of Fouke and Peggy Lafayette of Nash; his mother, Vera Wallace of Texarkana; six brothers; two sisters; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at East Memorial Gardens with Shad McDonald officiating. Burial will be under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.
The family will be at the Wallace residence in Fouke.
VELMA OAKLEY
MURFREESBORO, Ark. - Velma Oakley, 97, of Murfreesboro died Sunday, April 9, 2006, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Oakley was born Dec. 7, 1908, in Pike County, Ark. She was a retired nursing assistant from Idle Hour Nursing Center and a member of Harvest Time Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin G. Oakley; two sons, Earl Dean Robinson and Calvin G. “Sonny” Oakley Jr.; and one daughter, Bonnie Sue Pennington.
Survivors include three daughters, Patsy Oakley Dean of White Hall, Ark., Mary Adams of Camden, Ark., and Sandy Roberts of Murfreesboro; one sister, Johnnie Mae Oakley of Lantana, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 33 great - grandchildren; 15 great - great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Harvest Time Assembly of God with Jerry Shinn officiating. Burial will be in Murfreesboro Cemetery
under direction of Latimer Funeral Home.

FORDYCE, Ark. - Levenda Beth Cosby, 54, of El Dorado, Ark., died Sunday, April 9, 2006, in an El Dorado hospital.
Ms. Cosby was born Jan. 1, 1952, in Camden, Ark.

Ollie Banks, 85, of Little Rock died Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, in Little Rock.
Ms. Banks was born April 10, 1920, in Fulton, Ark. She was a cafeteria restaurant worker and a Baptist.
Survivors include three special nieces, Ruthie Ann Sims of Little Rock, Ivory Lee Metlock of Texarkana and Felicia Lisa Heard of Nashville, Ark.; one nephew, Piercy Heard Jr. of Benton, Ark.; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Charity Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. O.V. Birmingham officiating. Burial will be in Westmoreland Cemetery, Fulton, under direction of Jones Funeral Home.

DIERKS, Ark. - Julian Bruce "J.B." Crow, 82, of McHorse community, Ark., died Wednesday, Aug. 17, at his home.
Mr. Crow was born Sept. 29, 1922, in Ada, Okla. He was retired from Sevier County Road Department, a member and Elder of Provo Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Provo, Ark., Belleville Masonic Lodge and The American Legion and a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Ruth Crow of McHorse community; three sons, William Bruce Crow and Wesley "Dillon" Crow of Ashdown, Ark., and Clayton Crow of McHorse community; one daughter, Bonita Ward of Dierks, Ark.; two brothers, Kenneth Crow of Provo and Gale Crow of McHorse community; two sisters, Millie McKeller of Falls Chapel, Ark., and Peggy Whatley of Bloomburg, Texas: 12 grandchildren; 10 great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Mrs. Burns was born Nov. 2, 1939, in Bald Knob, Ark. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Merle Burns of Ben Lomond; one son, Michael Burns of Joplin, Ark.; one daughter, Deborah Layrock of Mount Ida, Ark.; two sisters, Josephine Osborn of Bald Knob and Eloise Timberlake of Bradford, Ark.; one grandson, Jason Lynch; one granddaughter, Meryl Lynch.; and one great - grandson, Michael "Bud" Sweet.

DE QUEEN, Ark. - Paul Gonzales, 85, of De Queen died Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, at his home.
Mr. Gonzales was born Jan. 15, 1920, in Houston. He was retired from General Motors, Michigan, and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness.
Survivors include one sister, Ambroshia Jaure of Dallas; and one great - niece, Athena Markle of Lockesburg, Ark.

STAMPS, Ark. - Gertie Martin, 93, of Texarkana, Ark., died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, in a Texarkana hospital.
Mrs. Martin was born May 28, 1911, in Rosston, Ark. She was a retired cafeteria manager with the Willisville, Ark., Schools and a member of First United Methodist Church, Arkansas, and Montgomery Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Martin; and one daughter, Patsy Sanders.
Survivors include one brother and sister - in - law, Burl and Donna Burns of Magnolia, Ark.; one sister and brother - in - law, Doris and Louie Ginocchio of Texarkana; one granddaughter and grandson - in - law, Terri and Jimmy Thompson of Tatum, Texas; one grandson, Jim Sanders of Longview, Texas; two great - grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Bobby Jernell Neal, 75, of Texarkana, Ark., died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, in a local nursing home.
Mr. Neal was born March 22, 1929, in Coppell, Texas. He was retired from M - D Building Products, a Baptist and a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann Allen Neal of Texarkana; two daughters and sons - in - law, Bobbie and Rudy Chukran of Leander, Texas, and Dianne and James Hand of Texarkana; one son, Terry Neal of Alvarado, Texas; seven grandchildren; two great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
