Robert Thomas "Bob" Collins
August 20, 1942 - August 7, 2011
Robert T. Bob Collins, a resident of Redfield, died Sunday, August 7, 2011, at McClelland Veterans Administration Hospital in Little Rock.
Born August 20, 1942, in Borderland, West Virginia, he was a son of Nick and Alice Brannham Collins.
Mr. Collins was reared and received his early education in Chattaroy, West Virginia. He was a United States Army veteran of Viet Nam. Robert Thomas Collins married Shirley Gray on December 12, 1970, in Tampa, Florida. He attended Otter Creek United Pentecostal Church.
Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jessie Laird.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Collins of Redfield; three daughters, Stacey (Raymond) Westbrook, and Kim Collins of Redfield, and Rebekah Morrow of White Hall; one son, Bobby (Donna) Collins of White Hall; two brothers, David Lee Collins of Oak Hill, Ohio, and Billy Ray Collins of Chattaroy, West Virginia; three sisters, Jean Moore of Kentucky, Joy Crowder of Lakewood, Ohio, and Jewell Copley of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
The visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Ralph Robinson & Son.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, August 12, 2011, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Percy Billingsley officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery
by Ralph Robinson & Son.
Charlie Stone
April 28, 1949 - August 9, 2011
Charlie R. Stone, 62, of Wabbaseka died Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at Davis Life Care.
He was born April 28, 1949, in Pine Bluff to Robert Milner and Ila Merle Orton Stone.
He was reared and received his early education in Altheimer, graduating from Altheimer High School. He was a farmer and a member of First Baptist Church of Altheimer.
He is survived by two brothers, Dickie(Jean) Stone of Wabbaseka, Tommy Stone of Pine Bluff; two sisters, Bobbie Kay Stone of Kingsport, Tennessee and Sherry Ann (Eugene) May of Dover, Florida.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday, August 15, 2011, at First Baptist Church, in Altheimer, with Brother Joe Meador officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, by Ralph Robinson and Son.
The family will receive friends at Robinson’s, Sunday afternoon, 2-4pm.

Kenneth R. Doss
September 28, 1926 - August 10, 2011
Kenneth R. Doss, 84, of Pine Bluff died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at his home.
He was born September 28, 1926 in Warren, to William Thomas and Emma Burrough Doss. He was reared and received his early education in Warren, graduating from Warren High School. He moved to Pine Bluff in 1944.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, during WWII, and worked for Arkansas Power and Light (now Entergy), retiring in 1986.
Mr. Doss was married to Bobbie Murray in 1948. She died in 1981. He married Lillian Robinson Rushing in 1987.
He was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church, Jacob Brump Lodge, #160 F. &A.M, and held lifetime memberships in Optimist International, and the Pine Bluff Men’s Bowling Association. He also coached Babe Ruth baseball for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and a sister, Bertha Doss Edwards; two half-brothers and two half-sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Doss, and his adopted family, Wayne and Debbie Easterly of Pine Bluff, and two granddaughters, Stephanie Easterly of Ft. Worth, Texas and Stacy Easterly of Houston, Texas. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son, with Reverend Todd Howard and Reverend Steve Monk officiating. Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery, near Star City, by Ralph Robinson and Son..
The family will receive friends at Robinson’s, Friday evening, 6-8 PM.

Winfrey Daymon McClain
February 8, 1935 - August 13, 2011
Daymon McClain, 76, a resident of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, August 13, 2011, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Born February 8, 1935, in Cleveland County, he was a son of Edgar Faye and Thelma Mae Stewart McClain.
Mr. McClain was reared and received his early education in Cleveland County, attending Woodlawn Schools. He was a machinist for Central Maloney for over forty years, retiring in 1999. Mr. McClain was a member of Union Methodist Church in Rye. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Pine Bluff Lodge # 69 of the Free and Accepted Masons.
Mr. McClain was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Scottie McClain; one sister, Wanda McClain Miller.
Survivors include two brothers, Willie Frank McClain of Lebanon, Tennessee, and Martin Dale McClain of Pine Bluff; one sister, Donnie Faye McClain Batchelor of Longview, Texas; many nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at Ralph Robinson & Son.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 16, 2011, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Mr. Don McClain officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery

Louise Locke (Waters)
July 10, 1922 - August 16, 2011
Louise Waters Locke, 89, of White Hall, died Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Locke was born July 10, 1922, in Utica, Illinois, to John Waters and Mary McCuen Waters. She was reared and received her education in LaSalle, Illinois, where she was a graduate of Peru High School in 1940. During World War II, Mrs. Locke became like one of the cultural icons ( Rosie the Riveter).
Louise Waters married Robert E. Locke on August 2, 1941, in LaSalle, Illinois. Mr. Locke died December 15, 2004.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, active in many church and Catholic school activities and fundraisers. Very patriotic and a lover of athletics, she was very involved in her childrens' and community activities including Little League Baseball and softball. She was very musically inclined and passed this interest to all her children.
Mrs. Locke is survived by four sons, James E. Locke of Dumas, Robert Eugene Locke of Pine Bluff, Terry V. Locke of Pine Bluff, and Michael A. Locke of Prairie Grove; one daughter, Luanne M. Hinton of Grapevine; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughters Leanne Locke and Lynda Creasy, brother, and two sisters.
A vigil will be held Friday, August 19, 2011, 6:30 PM, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with a visitation following from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
Her funeral mass will be Saturday, August 20, 2011, 10:00 AM, St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father L. Warren Harvey officiating. Interment follows at Graceland Cemetery.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Joseph Church, 412 W. 6th Avenue, Pine Bluff, AR 71601.
Raymond Douglas "Ray" Yates
February 20, 1938 - August 17, 2011
Raymond Douglas "Ray" Yates, Sr. 73, a resident of Wright, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at his home.
Born February 20, 1938, in Yancopin, Arkansas, he was a son of Willie and Lydia Mae Rowe Yates.
Mr. Yates was reared and received his early education in Watson. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Science, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Arkansas State University. Mr. Yates was a United States Air Force veteran of Korea and Vietnam where he earned a Bronze Star. He was a water plant operator for East Prairie Water Company in East Prairie and Cotton Plant, retiring in 1999. He was also a retired farmer. Mr. Yates attended the Church of God of Prophesy.
Mr. Yates was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and one brother.
Survivors include four sons; Raymond D. Yates, Jr. of Wright, Mike Yates of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Will Yates of White Hall, and Kevin Yates of El Paso, Texas; two daughters, Judy Chambers of White Hall, and Christi Partain of Vilonia; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six brothers; two sisters.
The visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, August 19, 2011, at Ralph Robinson & Son.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Saturday, August 20, 2011, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Kenneth Ripper officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Watson Cemetery

Rodney Glenn Herring
December 19, 1953 - August 18, 2011
Rodney Glenn Herring, 57, of Woodlawn, passed away, Thursday, August 18, 2011, at his home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born December 19, 1953, in Pine Bluff, he was a son of the late Glen D. Herring and Diane Dilger Bearden. He attended schools in Pine Bluff, and he was a 1973 graduate of Woodlawn High School. In 1973, he married Janet Allred in Cleveland County, Arkansas.
Mr. Herring was a Service Operator III for International Paper (now Evergreen Packaging) for almost 20 years, retiring in 2011.
He was a devout Christian man, who now rests peacefully in Heaven with his Savior. A loving husband and devoted father, he loved his flowers, his motorcycle and treasured spending all the time he could with his family.
Mr. Herring is survived by his wife of 38 years, Janet Herring; daughter, Stacey Herring Owen and her husband, Kevin; twin sons, Casey Herring, and his wife, Erin, and Tracy Herring and his wife, Mandy; three grandchildren, Dylan Owen, Everett Herring and Jackson Herring; his step-father, Bill Bearden; his step-mother, Barbara Herring Pennison; three brothers and an extended family of dear friends.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the team of doctors and staff of the Oncology Department of St. Vincent Infirmary, including Dr. Joseph Beck.
The family will receive friends Sunday, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at Robinson’s. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, August 22, 2011, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son, with Brother Paul Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Henry B. Penny
July 3, 1933 - August 19, 2011
Henry B. Penny, 78, of Wright, died Friday, August 19, 2011.
He was born July 3, 1933 in Rio Honda, Texas, son of Johnny and Opal Howard Penny.
Mr. Penny was reared and received his early education in Texas.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
Henry worked as a carpenter and truck driver.
He loved hunting and fishing.
Mr. Penny was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Marvin, Paul and David Penny; and a sister, Debbie Penny.
Survivors include two daughters, LaCindy Gentry and Sabrina of Idaho; three sisters, Helen Dunham of Scotland, Arkansas, Wanda Newsom of Oakwood, Texas, Hazel Daring of San Angelo, Texas; brother, Billy Penny of Miles, Texas' 8 grandchildren and 12 great grand-children.
A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Arkansas State Veterans’ Cemetery
in North Little Rock with Reverend Tony Williams officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors.
Evelyn Darlene Sinks (Jarrett)
December 4, 1943 - August 19, 2011
Evelyn Darlene Jarrett Sinks, 67, of Rison, Arkansas, passed away Friday, August 19, 2011, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Born December 4, 1943, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Presley Jarrett and Lucille Parnell Jarrett. She was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1962. She also attended and graduated from Pines Vocational College (now SEARK College) with a degree in Nursing.
Mrs. Sinks was a Licensed Practical Nurse for Dr. Shafqat Hussain for several years until retiring in 2006. She was a member of Oak Park Free Will Baptist Church.
A loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother, she loved spending time enjoying her family. She was an avid reader, enjoying all kinds of stories, including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and other Disney characters. She spent her free time completing jigsaw puzzles and playing games.
Mrs. Sinks was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Steven Sinks and a brother, Presley R. Jarrett.
She is survived by her husband 36 years, Samuel M. Sinks, of Rison; sons, Sammy Sinks and wife, Beth, of Houston, Texas and Jimmy Sinks and wife, Marsha, of Cabot, Arkansas; daughters, Debbie Feaster, Cathy Robinson of Arizona, Darla Drye and husband, Dwayne of Rison and Mary Hudspeth of White Hall; fourteen grandchildren, including Mary Ellen Hudspeth of White Hall, Jason Smith and wife Kayla of Iowa, John Smith and wife Jennifer of Pine Bluff, Karla Maley and husband Robert of Jacksonville, Arkansas and Parker Sinks of Sheridan, Arkansas; seven great grandchildren and one on the way; brothers, Freddie Jarrett of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Sammy Jarrett of McGehee, Arkansas; and sisters, Betty Sue Evans, Carolyn Pipkin and Judy Ashcraft all of Pine Bluff, and Joan Quinn of Conway, Arkansas.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Robinson’s. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 23, 2011, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son, with Reverend James Conn officiating. Burial will follow in Kingsland Cemetery
