Larry Stephen Hobbs
November 30, 1944 - July 14, 2004

Larry Stephen Hobbs, 59, of Eugene, Oregon, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at Eugene Rehabilitation Center in Eugene, Oregon.
Mr. Hobbs was born November 30, 1944, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to the late James Eugene and Louise Gresham Hobbs. He was reared and educated in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School. He attended Arkansas State University for one year. He served in the United States Army. He had resided in Eugene, Oregon for twelve years.
Mr. Hobbs was a railroad engineer for the St. Louis Southwestern Railroad.
He is survived by one son, Christopher Hobbs; three daughters, Cameron Hobbs Stanaker, Jennifer Hobbs, and Stephanie Hobbs; one brother, James Fred Hobbs of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and eight grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, July 22, 2004, 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Jimmy Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.

Bobby Hartless
November 10, 1977 - July 17, 2004

Bobby Hartless, 26, a resident of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, July 17, 2004, in Little Rock.
Born November 10, 1977, in Pine Bluff, he was a son of Pete and Judy Lawrence.
Mr. Hartless was reared and received his early education in Woodlawn, where he attended school to the twelth grade. He was a bus mechanic for the Coach USA Bus Company in Little Rock. He married Alicia Reed on October 25, 2003, in Pine Bluff.
Mr. Hartless was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Hartless; his paternal grandmother, Alice Hartless.
Survivors include his wife, Alicia Reed Hartless of Pine Bluff; one daughter, Marissa Hartless of Pine Bluff; one step son, Allen Munn of Pine Bluff; his parents, Pete and Judy Lawrence of Redfield; three brothers, Eric and Chris Gatlin of White Hall and Johnathon Lawrence of Little Rock; one step-sister, Tonya Reynolds of Pittsfield, Massachusetts; his paternal grandparents, Bobby and Cindy Hartless of Norman, Oklahoma; his mother and father-in-law, Randy and Melody Reed of Pine Bluff; his brother-in-law Chris Reed and his wife Tisha of Jefferson; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, July 22, 2004, in Lee Cemetery with Brother Billy Burks officiating. Burial will follow by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. The family will receive guests from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Ralph Robinson & Son.

Albert Robert ( Al ) Aureli
May 18, 1926 - July 21, 2004

Albert Robert Aureli 78, of Pine Bluff, died peacefully surrounded by his family at the Arkansas Hospice Center at St. Vincent Doctors Hospital in Little Rock on July 21, 2004.

He was born in Pine Bluff on May 18, 1926 to Primo and Annunciata "Lucy" Mazzanti Aureli. He attended Our Lady of the Lake Catholic grade school in Lake Village, and Pine Bluff High School where he graduated in 1944. He volunteered for the US Army Air Corps in 1944 where he served for the remainder of World War II. Returning to Pine Bluff after the War he worked at Western Auto until 1948. In March, 1948 he started employment at Arkansas Power & Light where he worked until retirement in 1986 after 38 years of service as a draftsman then an electrical engineer assistant. In 1957, he and his brother opened Aureli Mobile Home Park on Highway 65 south of Pine Bluff where it continues in operation today.

A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years where he served terms in the following leadership positions: Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator of the Pine Bluff Council, and District Deputy of the Southeast Arkansas Area. He was an active member of the 25 For Now Club (a charitable organization that provides funds to area families in need). As an avid hunter and fisherman he was a member of the Lakeport Hunting and Fishing Club near Lake Village, the Walker Deer Camp of Hamburg, and the Tower Hunting and Fishing Club near Yorktown.

He married Betty Louise Owen Aureli June 5, 1948. They were married for 34 years before she died on April 2, 1983.

Survivors include his present wife of 17 years, Phebe Ann Barrett Aureli; the five children of his first marriage including two daughters Dora "Dori" Aureli of Mayflower, Sandra Aureli of Reno, Nevada, and three sons, Michael Aureli and his wife Sharon of Mayflower, Gregory Aureli and his wife Karen of Stuttgart, and Thomas Aureli of Little Rock; a brother, Geno Aureli and his wife Marilyn of Pine Bluff; a sister, Regina Aureli Magnini of Pine Bluff; and one step-son, Lester Barrett and his spouse Terry of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a step-son, John Barrett, and two infant brothers, David and Matthew Aureli.

He will long be remembered for his warm smile, cheerful greetings, sense of humor, kind heart, and eagerness to help someone in need.

The family will be at #16 Southern Pines Drive in Pine Bluff. A Rosary service will be Friday, 6:00 PM at Ralph Robinson & Son. Funeral services are Saturday, 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Monsignor Jack Harris celebrating. Interment follows in St. Joseph Cemetery. (Online register: www.ralphrobinsonandson.com)

John E. ( Jack ) Jehlen
August 06, 1926 - July 20, 2004

John E. "Jack" Jehlen, 77, of Pine Bluff died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Jehlen was born August 6, 1926, in Pine Bluff, to John Elmo and Ellen Gertrude Goss Jehlen. He was a 1947 graduate of Pine Bluff High School and a 1948 graduate of Hemphill Diesel Engineering School in Memphis.
He served in the U. S. Army during WW II.
He worked for the U. S. Postal Service for 37 years, retiring in 1986, as an Accounting Technician.
He was a member of White Hall United Methodist Church, a Ham Radio Operator, and a member of MARS (military Affiliate Radio System), a Red Cross Volunteer, a Lieutenant in the Pine Bluff Special Police, and ARES/RACES Emergency Coordinator.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Isom Jehlen, who he married, September 24, 1948 in Pine Bluff, a son and daughter-in-law, John Jehlen Jr. and Carol, and their daughter, Jordan Jehlen, of Russellville, brother, Charles Rex Jehlen of Warren, Texas and a sister, Shirley Walker of Bella Vista.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, at White Hall United Methodist Church, with Reverends David Baker and Rob Walker officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, by Ralph Robinson and Son.
The family will receive friends at Robinson's, Thursday, 6-8 P.M.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Red Cross or White Hall United Methodist Church.

Thomas Collier Barnett
December 24, 1913 - December 23, 2001

Thomas Collier Barnett, 87, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, December 23, 2001, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born December 24, 1913, in Pine Bluff, a son of the late Richard Stuart and Elizabeth Stuart Collier Barnett. Mr. Barnett was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, graduated from Pine Bluff High School and attended Henderson State University.
He farmed as a young man in Jefferson County before World War II. During that war, he was a decorated veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, serving as a bomber crew engineer and navigator. He was awarded the American Theatre Campaign Medal, the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal, and two Bronze Stars for the Bismark sea battle and the Papuan campaign.
Returning to Jefferson County, he began operating the Collier Farm near Altheimer which he managed until retiring in the 1970s. In 1965, he was appointed postmaster at Altheimer, serving there until retiring in 1980.
He was a active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where he served on the Vestry. He served for several years as a member of the Jefferson County Soil Conservation Board. He was a member of the Altheimer Lions Club. An avid sportsman, hunter and fisherman, he was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He and his friends established Fish Lake Cypress Farms Hunting Club. He was a member of the American Legion and a longtime supporter of the University of Arkansas Razorback athletic programs.
Mr. Barnett is survived by his wife, JoAnne Gadberry Barnett, to whom he was married in Pine Bluff on November 30, 1946, daughter and son-in-law, Jan Barnett Jacobs and Tom Jacobs of DeWitt, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard S. Barnett, Jr., and Virginius J. Barnett.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 26, in Bellwood Cemetery with the Reverend Mr. Pat Seymour officiating. Arrangements are by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. The family will be at home. The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to Trinity Episcopal Church, American Cancer Society, or to the donor's favorite charity.

Mary Frances De La Hunt
March 23, 1919 - July 25, 2004

Mary Frances De La Hunt, 85, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, July 25, 2004 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. De La Hunt was born March 23, 1919 in Redfield, Arkansas, a daughter of the late L. C. McNeill and Jenny Watson McNeill. She was reared and received her early education in Redfield.
She married Rex J. De La Hunt April 31, 1943 in Pine Bluff.
Mrs. DeLaHunt was a homemaker and a member of the Central Baptist Church. SHe enjoyed gardening, fishing and raising flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bill McNeill.
Mrs. De La Hunt is survived by her husband of 61 years, Rex De La Hunt of Pine Bluff; daughter, Betty Ann Wilson of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two sons, Roger T. De La Hunt of Harrison, Arkansas and William C. De La Hunt of Pine Bluff; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 29, 2004 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with the Brother Gary Akers officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at Robinson's.
Memorials may be made to the Central Baptist Church, 6107 Dollarway Road, White Hall, Arkansas 71602.

Terry Bowers
January 28, 1947 - July 25, 2004

Terry Bowers, age 57, of Sheridan, died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at S Vincent's Doctors Hospice in Little Rock. Mr. Bowers was born January 28, 1947, in Little Rock, a son of Billy Lou Bowers and the late Powell Clayton Bowers.
Mr. Bowers was reared and educated in Dewitt, Arkansas. He was a graduate of Dewitt High School. He loved to fish ahd hunt. He later moved with his family to Sheridan, Arkansas and gave his life to Christ.
He was a self employed Carpenter and had been a member of Family Church for ten years and had become very involved there. He loved being in the prison ministry. Terry was a family man and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Bowers was a veteran of the U S Air Force and had served in Viet Nam.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Easley Bowers, who he married February 14, 1987, in Little Rock; two sons, Jeff Bowers of Kirklan, Washington and Jason Bowers of Sheridan; daughter in law, Erin Bowers of Sheridan; his mother, Billy Lou Bowers of Little Rock; one brother, Scott Bowers of Cottonwood, Tennessee; two grandsons, Clayton Hunter Bowers and Benjamin Ross Bowers both of Sheridan; one granddaughter, Samatha Denise Bowers of Sheridan.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at 2:00 PM at Family Church by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with Reverend Bill Fitzhugh officiating.
Burial will be in the Old Dewitt Cemetery in Dewitt at 5:00 PM.
The family will receive friends at Robinson's Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Family Church Building Fund, 2500 Highway 104, White Hall, Arkansas 71602.

John Robert Kitchens, Jr
July 21, 1942 - July 25, 2004

John Robert Kitchens, Jr, 62, of Pine Bluff died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
He was born July 21, 1942, in Pine Bluff, the son of John Robert Kitchens, Sr and Linda Euseppi Kitchens. He was a 1960 graduate of Pine Bluff High School and 1964 graduate of Ouachita Baptist University, where he was an All-AIC Defensive Tackle on the Tiger football team.
He coached football at Clarendon, Benton and Lewisville, and then worked for Entergy Corporation for 20 years, retiring in 2000.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Shepherd Kitchens, whom he married July 17, 1982, in Pine Bluff, a son, John Robert Kitchens, III of Cumming, Georgia, his mother, Linda Euseppi Kitchens of Pine Bluff and a sister, Sue Kitchens Merritt of Pine Bluff.
Funeral services will be 10:30 Wednesday, at Lakeside United Methodist Church, with Reverends Jim Brooks and David King officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Cemetery, by Ralph Robinson and Son.
The family will receive friends at Robinson's, Tuesday, 6-8 P.M.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 909 W 2nd Street, Little Rock, AR 72201.

Myra Cook
December 05, 1925 - July 27, 2004

Myra Cook, 78, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Cook was born December 5, 1925, in Nettleton, Arkansas, to the late Alfred and Beatrice Pierce. She was reared and educated in Nettleton.
She married James H. Cook on December 28, 1941 in Nettleton.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Cook is survived by her husband, James H. Cook of Pine Bluff; a son, James M. Cook of Little Rock, Arkansas; four daughters, Cherry Bell of Panama City Beach, Florida, Brenda Tiner of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Beverly Donehue of Londonderry, New Hampshire, and Darla Cook of Mobile, Alabama; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Alfred Pierce, Jr., of Abilene, Texas; two sisters, Marguerite Hinton of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Joann Farley of Whittier, California.
Graveside Services are scheduled for Thursday, July 29, 2004, 2:00 PM, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro, Arkansas, with Reverend Jimmy Watson officiating by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Home.

Marie Lawrence
July 11, 1926 - July 27, 2004

Marie Lawrence, 78, a resident of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock.
Born July 11, 1926, in Marked Tree, Arkansas, she was a daughter of John and Flora Billow Angel.
Mrs. Lawrence was reared and educated in Marked Tree. She married Grover Lawrence in Pine Bluff on May 8, 1955. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Lawrence was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Ruby Crane, Juanita Short, Sybil Rogers, Minnie Mae, and Pauline Angel.
Survivors include; her husband, Grover Lawrence of Pine Bluff; one brother, John Morris Angel of Missouri; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, July 30, 2004, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with Reverend Nathan Petty officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Cemetery. The visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Ralph Robinson & Son.
