Charles Scott August 7, 1929 - October 14, 2002

He was born August 7, 1929 at Darlington, Missouri to Charles Preston and leola Bell Roy Scott. He married Willie Mae Hightower on April 26, 1969 at Rigleland, South Carolina. He was a heavy equipment mechanic and had worked in the copper mines in Idaho. He served with the US Army until retirement in 1970 where he was a fixed wing helicopter mechanic and helicopter instructor. Mr. Soctt had lived in the Gassville area since moving from St. Charles, Idaho in 1976. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a life member of Cotter VFW #5742, Alley - White American Legion #52, DAV Chapter 30 and VVA chapter of Mountain Home. He was a personal mechanic for President Kennedy's helicopter in Washington, DC and rode with the St. Charles, Idaho Cattleman's Association Horseback in cattle drives. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother.

Survived by: He is survived by his wife Willie Mae Scott of Gassville, son Charles Paul Scott, Jr., daughter Marjorie (Dan) Beard of Maryland, stepson Carlos (Valerie) Cawthan of Huntsville, Texas, stepdaughter Cathy (Richard) Musial of Webster, Texas; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a sister Ruhlene (Eldon) Steinman of Albany, Missouri.

Preceded in Death by: Parents and 1 brother

Visitation: Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 Wednesday at Kirby - Boaz Funeral Home.

Funeral: Funeral service for Charles Paul "Scotty" Scott of Gassville will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Kirby - Boaz Funeral Home.

Burial arrangements: Burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery with American Legion Alley - White Post #52 as honorary pallbearers.

Ruth Seigal 1908 - 2002

Ruth L. Seigal was born January 29, 2002 at Pawnee City, Nebraska the daughter of Keith Brown and Lula Cox Brown. She married the late Earl Seigal and had resided in the Flippin area since moving from Louisville, Colorado in 1997.

Survived by: 1 son, Gerald A. Seigal of Flippin, AR; 1 daughter Betty Hardy; 8 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and numerous nices and nephews.

Preceded in Death by: parents, husbands, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, 1 sister and 1 grandson.

Charles Louis Shapiro 1918 - 2002

Charles Louis Shapiro of Mountain Home was born on September 18, 1918 at Des Moines, Iowa to Louis and Minie Eastridge Shapiro. He married Mary Lucile Tharp on May 1, 1948 at Des Moines, Iowa and was a Salesman for Ford Motor Company. He moved to Mountain Home in 1975 from Des Moines and he belonged to the Emmanuel Church. He passed away on April 5, 2002 at his residence at the age of 83 years, 6 months, and 17 days.

Survived by: Wife - Lucile Shapiro, 1 Son - Mark Eugene Shapiro of Salina, Cal., 2 Daughters - Rosalie J. Sandahl of Las Vegas, NV. and Dalene Thompson of Pensacola, FL., 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in Death by: Parents, Son - Clark Eugene Shapiro, 1 Brother and 2 Sisters.

Funeral: Services were held in Kirby - Boaz Funeral Home Chapel on April 9, 2002 with Reverend Jerrel Venable officiating. military Honors were by the North Central Arkansas Veteran's Council(Mountain Home VFW Honor Guard)

Burial arrangements: Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.

Additional Notes: He was a US Navy World War II Veteran. Member of Disabled American Veterans, Ozark VFW Post # 3246, and Alley White American Legion Post # 52.

Robert H. Shaw October 30, 1925 - February 2, 2003

Robert H. Shaw was born October 30, 1925 at Girard, Ohio to Eugene W. and Nellie E. Cotton Shaw. He married Margaret F. Collins on June 10, 1969 at Carson City, NV. He was a Radio Telemetric Engineer for Federal Electric CO. He was a resident of Mountain Home, AR since moving from Arizona in 1996. He loved fishing, golfing and working with computers, and he was protestant. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Robert Shaw entered into eternal rest on February 2, 2003 at Mountain Home, AR at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 2 days.

Floyd A. Sherman 1916 - 2003

Floyd Alfred Sherman was born May 1, 1916 at Ogallala, NE to Sylvester and Annette Johnson Sherman. He married Opal Hoagland on August 19, 1936 at Ogallala, NE and was a retail salesman. He moved to Mountain Home, AR from Omaha, NE in 1982, and then to Springfield, MO in 1991 and lived there until moving back to Mountain Home in 1997. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was active in the AARP. Floyd Alfred Sherman entered into eternal rest on February 12, 2003 at Mountain Home, AR at the age of 86 years, 9 months and 11 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter - Carole Jelinek, and 1 brother.

Elwood Lawrence Shoop March 28, 1913 - June 22, 2003

Elwood L. Shoop, age 90, passed away June 22, 2003, after a long battle with liver disease. Mr. Shoop was born March 28, 1913 in Chicago, Illinos, the oldest of four siblings. He moved as a young man to reside in Kalamazoo, Michigan for over forty years. In Kalamazoo, he met and married Mae Honeycutt Shoop. They were married for sixty - one years. He was a member of the Masons. He was a member of College North Church of Christ. He had recently moved to Edmond, OK. from Mountain Home, Arkansas living since 1996.

Survived by: He is survived by his wife Mae Honeycutt Shoop of Edmond, OK., two daughters Judy and Rob Ford of Edmond, OK., Gloria Morrow of Edmond, OK., Five Grandchildren and Six Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and one sister.

Visitation: Visitation for Mr. Shoop will be from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 25, 2003.

Funeral: Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 26, 2003 at Kirby - Boaz Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial arrangements: A graveside service will be at the Jeff Family Cemetery outside Thayer, Missouri.

She was born on October 12, 1918 in New York City, New York to Norman Lee and Bertha Booth. She worked as a insurance company secretary and was a resident of Yellville, Arkansas since moving from Miami, Florida in 2002.

Survived by: She is survived by one daughter, Jeanne (Gary) Simmons of Yellville, Arkansas, Doyle Allen Bush, David Lee Bush and daughter in law Judith Lee Bush.
