Catherine Mary Gunsteen January 4, 1921 - December 30, 2002

Catherine Mary Gunsteen was born January 4, 1921 in Door County Wisconsin to Joseph and Cecila Fitzpatrick Noonan. She married Clarence Gunsteen on May 15, 1950 at Gilman, Wisconsin. She was a clerk for a railroad before retiring to Mountain Home in 1976. She was a member of the Bull Shoals VFW Auxillary where she served as president for two different terms. She loved to play bingo and Bowling. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She passed away at her residence on December 30, 2002 at the age of 81 years, 11 months, & 26 days.

Survived by: 2 Sons: Brian (Marilyn) Gunsteen of Bull Shoals, Ar. and Bobby J. Gunsteen of Belvedere, Ill., 3 Daughters: Kathy Mitchell (Vern) of Copperas Cove, Tx, Sharon Woloszyk (Fred) of Bradenton, Fl. and Donna Setzer (Lou) of Lombard, Ill., 11 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren, 3 Sisters: Irene Johnson, of Paris, Ill., Rose Engel (Russ) of Medford, Wisc, and Louise Jankowski (Les) of Shoreline, Wa.

Preceded in Death by: Parents, Husband, 1 greatgrandson, 2 Brothers, and 1 Sister

Visitation: 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 3, 2003 with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral: A Funeral Mass will be held at 10;00 a.m. Saturday January 4, 2003 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Reverend Gregory Hart officiating.

Burial arrangements: Newton Flat Cemetery, Bull Shoals, Arkansas

John William "Bill" Guy January 20, 1916 - March 12, 2002

John William "Bill" Guy, 86, of Midway died March 12, 2002 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. Mr. Guy was born January 20, 1916 in Chicago,IL. to John W. and Elizabeth Lapinska Guy. He was married July 21, 1951 to Theresa M. Medgren. he was a Buyer for Floor Covering Company for 25 years. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed fishing. He was Methodist.

Survived by: He is survived by 1 son James m. Guy of Midway, 1 daughter JoAnn E. Guy of Cary, IL., 3 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 stepdaughter Patricia Hanley.

Funeral: Graveside Services will be 2:00P.M. March 15, 2002 at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Jim Brooks officiating.

Burial arrangements: Entombment will be at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery.

Charles E. Haines May 21, 1928 - July 12, 2002

Charles E. Haines was born to Charles Edward Haines Sr. and Terry Spunagle - Haines in Hayes, Kansas. He married Marjorie Rose Winterfeld, June 29, 1956 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1989 from Fairfax, Virginia. Mr. Haines was also a veterinarian.

Survived by: Wife:Marjorie Haines 2 Sons: Micheal Haines, Dan Haines 1 Daughter: Patricia Haines 2 Grandchildren: Danielle Haines, Blake Haines

Preceded in Death by: parents and 1 brother

Funeral: Graveside service, Tuesday, July 16, 2002 at 11:00 AM.

Clarence E. "Butch" Hainey December 16, 1933 - August 11, 2003

Clarence "Butch" Hainey 69, of Lakeview died Monday August 11, 2003 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was born December 16, 1933 at Hartshorne, Oklahoma to Finice and Mary Hainey. He left Oklahoma at age 15 to fall timber in Oregon. He later went to Alaska to work on the pipeline. He spent the last 25 years of his life in Lakeview and Bull Shoals. Butch “The Treeman” loved nature. Trees and nature were the focus of his life.

Survived by: He is survived by one son, Sam Hainey, of Mountain Home, three daughters, Amy Hainey of Gassville, Renea Lomax of St. Helens, Oregon and Clarice Weathers of Yachats, Oregon; two sisters, Ruth Byrd of Long Beach, California and Frances James of Oakwood, Texas. He has fifteen grandchildren and one great - grandchild. He is also survived by his companion and friend, Dorothy Chittenden, Lakeview.

Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, August 17, 2003 at Kirby - Boaz Funeral Home Chapel in Bull Shoals.

Jason R. Hall May 8, 1973 - July 21, 2003

Jason R. Hall was born May 8, 1973 at Champaign, Illinois to William Aaron and Katharine A. Murray Hall. He was a Methodist and a resident of Fayetteville since moving from Fairview in 1995. A real estate attorney, he held a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hendrix and received his law degree from University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Jason Hall entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 21, 2003 at his residence at the age of 30 years, 2 months and 13 days.

Survived by: He is survived by his father and step - mother, Aaron and Terri Hall of Flippin; two brothers, Aaron (Beth) Hall, Jr. and Kenneth N. (Stephanie) Hall both of Fayetteville; paternal grandfather and step - grandmother, Nola and Loretta Hall of Flippin; one niece, Shelton Hall, and two nephews Owen and Eli Hall, all of Fayetteville.

Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his mother, Kitty Hall, and paternal grandmother, Ernestine Hall.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, July 25, 2003 at the Kirby - Boaz Funeral Home of Bull Shoals.

Funeral: Memorial service will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 26, 2003 at the United Methodist Church of Bull Shoals with Reverend Nicholas C. Lascaro officiating.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to Leukemia Society of America.

Marie Hall 1917 - 2002

Marie Hall age 85, of Flippin, AR died September 21, 2002 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and of Protestant Religion.

Dr. Allen Sanders Hall Phd.,67, of Mountain Home died March 5, 2002 at his residence. He was born August 8, 1934 in Paris, TN to Irvan and Alma Sanders Hall. He was a speech Pathologist in Mountain Home. He had a Ohio State Doctorate and a Memphis State Masters. He was Catholic.

Survived by: He is survived by 4 daughters Renee Hall of Las Vegas, Cheryl Riney of San Diego, Elizabeth Kathleen Hall of Mountain Home and Beverly, 2 sons of Eric Hall of San Diego and Allen Ray Hall of Mountain Home, 5 Grandchildren.

Patricia D. Halpin March 27, 1926 - May 22, 2002

Patricia Halpin was born to Henry Dickman and Mary Oderwald - Dickman. She married Vincent W.Halpin February 10, 1946 in Homewood, Illinois. She was a housewife and moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1982 from Home wood, Illinois.

Dolores Hammel 1911 - 2002

Dolores Hammel was born November 8, 1911 in Illinois the daughter of William Peters and Minnie Peters Halfstrom. She married the late Russell V. Hammel and had resided in the Mountain Home area since moving from Morocco, Indiana in 1964. She was a homemaker and former owner of Pelican Resort in Bull Shoals.

Donald Hand 1915 - 2002

Donald L. Hand was born June 1, 1915 at Lincoln, Nebraska the son of William B. Hand and Lennie Martin Hand. He married Wilma Couch at Yuma, Arizona on May 26, 1979 and had resided in the Midway area since moving from Friendly Valley, California in 1986. He was a retired Airplane Pilot for the U.S. Navy and continued flying until 2000.He also worked at Litton, Teledyne, Raytheon, Hughes following his naval retirement. He enjoyed motorcycles and rode for over 40 years and also enjoyed gardening. He was a member of the Black Cats (Naval Organization). Mr. Hand entered into eternal rest on February 19, 2002 at Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 86 years.

Survived by: wife; Wilma Couch of the home

Funeral: Graveside service at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery on February 22, 2002 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend James Hoffpauir officiating
