Paulette Burris
February 12, 1941 - May 7, 2013
Donnie ”Paulette” Burris, age 72 of Hampton, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at her residence in Harrell. She was born on February 12, 1941 in Venus, Texas to the late Harold Aubrey “Jack” McNeill and Bessie Lee (Cummings) McNeill. Paulette was a retired truck driver. She loved tending to her flowers, working crossword puzzles and playing Bingo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank Burris and by one sister, Dorothy Lawrence.
She is survived by one brother, Charles McNeill and wife Betty of Everman, TX; one uncle, Robert L. Cummings of Hampton, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family, also a special K9 Companion, Bandit.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements were provided by Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
Louise Manor Sanders
May 6, 1915 - May 10, 2013
Louise Elizabeth Sanders, 98, of Norphlet, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas.
She was born May 6, 1915, to Inez Lacy and Giles Marion Manor in Anding, Mississippi. Louise was a resident of Norphlet for over 85 years. She married Radie Sanders in 1936. She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Louise was a member of the Norphlet First United Methodist Church and was a founding member of the Norphlet Civic Club. She was a leader in her church and community.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Radie, and son, Giles Ray. Survivors include her daughter, Beth Ann Barnhardt of Norphlet, granddaughters, Shannon Deckard of Clinton; Sheryl Warren of Norphlet; and Donna Kay Snow (Robbie) of Bryant; Suzy Bridges (Jamie) of Hot Springs; grandsons, Andy Sanders (Monica) and Jon Sanders of Norphlet; 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 13, 2013, at 10am at the Norphlet First United Methodist Church. Burial and a brief graveside service will be at Rest Haven Cemetery immediately following the funeral. Pallbearers are Jim Crotty, John Crotty, Mike Crotty, Paul Long, David Long, Mitchell McNeill, Zac Warren and Cecil Polk.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening 5pm to 8pm at Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Norphlet.
Lillie M. Greer
November 2, 1932 - May 17, 2013
Lillie Mae Greer, age 80 of El Dorado, passed from this life on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. She was born on November 2, 1932 in El Dorado to the late Duncan Spencer Foster and Effie Irene (Lawrence) Foster. Lillie was a lifelong member of Bethel Chapel Assembly of God, where she loved its people and loved attending. She loved the Lord and doing his work, and reading her Bible daily. Lillie was a very caring person and was always doing good things for others. She enjoyed fishing and was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother whom will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edgar Greer; one brother, William “JR” Schmitz; one sister, Marie Stanley; two grandsons, Gregory Allen Greer and Barry Huffstetler; son in law, Tommy Wilson and daughter in law, Pat Greer.
Those left to cherish her memory include; seven children, Jo Ann McDiarmid and husband Glen of El Dorado, Don Greer and wife Linda of El Dorado, Michael Greer and wife Nancy of El Dorado, Kay Wilson of Junction City, Eddy Greer and wife Ann of El Dorado, Johnny Greer and wife Katherine of Norphlet and Rusty Greer and wife Beverly of El Dorado; special nephew, Steven Stanley; seventeen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one great, great grandson.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2013 at Bailey Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Bethel Chapel Assembly of God, with Bro. Steve Moss officiating. Burial will follow at Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
Memorial may be made to Bethel Chapel Assembly of God.
Arnold Jennings Perdue
August 15, 1925 - May 10, 2013
Arnold Jennings Perdue, age 87 of Smackover, passed from this life on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital in Little Rock, AR. He was born on August 15, 1925 in Miller County, AR to the late Arthur Jennings Perdue and Helen Claire (Barnes) Perdue. Arnold worked for Cross Oil Refinery, serving 43 years before his retirement. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the World War II Era. Arnold was a former Smackover city alderman, a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Lions Club, The Genealogical Society and several other Civic Organizations throughout the years. He attended First United Methodist Church in Smackover and was a loving Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother and Friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie (Klippert) Perdue; one sister, Martha Joiner and one brother, Charles Reuben Perdue.
Those left to cherish his memory include; one son, Randy Perdue of Lonoke, AR; two daughters, Lynn Perdue of Little Rock and Rev. Beth Perdue of Harrisburg, AR; two granddaughters, Lori Andrews of Rogers, AR and Brandy Perdue Granger and husband Jason of Ruston, LA; one grandson, Kyle Jordan and wife Valerie of Bryan, TX; two great grandsons, Caleb and Seth Granger of Ruston; one sister, Margaret Farley of Houston, TX; one aunt, Laura Doyal of Seguin, TX and a special friend, Yvonne Horne of Smackover also, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Bailey Funeral Home.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Bailey Funeral Chapel with Rev. Leon Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.

June Shurtleff, age 91 of Magnolia went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 8, 2013.
She was born November 8, 1921 in Missouri to Richard Lawrence and Sylvia Grace Clara (Pike) Meyers.
She was a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker. June always enjoyed being with her friends and family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Glyn Shurtleff, two brothers and one sister.
Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Robert Shurtleff, Sr. of Scott, AR; Sue Dickson and husband, Clay of Magnolia, AR; three grandsons, Robert Shurtleff and wife, Shannon of Virginia; Dean Dickson and wife, Angelina of New York; John Dickson of Dallas, TX; two great granddaughters, Caitlyn Shurtleff and Ava Shurtleff of Virginia; one sister in law, Carolyn Meyers of Magnolia; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:30AM Monday, May 13, 2013 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Magnolia.

Virgie Lee Hendrix White
April 3, 1941 - May 12, 2013
Virgie Lee Hendrix White, age 72 of El Dorado passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Lifetouch Hospice in El Dorado. She was born April 3, 1941 in Epps, Louisiana to Grady and Beatrice (Matthews) Hendrix. Virgie spent her childhood in Epps, LA where she was born and also Akron, OH for a time. After her marriage to Nile “Smokey” White, she devoted her life to raising their family. She continued to be a loving caregiver to her daughter Tina. Virgie loved gardening and she spent countless hours tending to her vegetables and her flowers. Virgie loved spending time with her family, but her greatest joy came from being with her grandchildren who always held a special place in her heart.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Nile “Smokey” White and one brother, Grady V. Hendrix.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Nile M. White and wife, Cindy; Grady R. White and wife, Kathy; one daughter, Tina R. White all of El Dorado; grandchildren, Corey White of El Dorado; Lauran Sappenfield and husband, Nickolas of Benton, AR; Wendy White of Sherwood, AR; Shane White and wife, Angel of Ft. Smith, AR; five great grandchildren, Gavin, Sienna, Archer, Adyson and Brayleigh; four sisters, Mary Mathis & husband, Steve of El Dorado; Margie Dopson and husband, Ronald of Crossett; Leona Bailey of El Dorado and Jeanette Lum and husband, Jimmy of El Dorado; two aunts, Mildred Lloyd of Mississippi and Jessie Baucum of Texas, numerous cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday May 15, 2013 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Strong Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
Pallbearers will be Barry Dopson, Brian Dopson, Grady Manning, Scotty Bailey, Todd Mathis and Jimmy Lum.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Allen Elbert Duggar JR
December 29, 1935 - May 14, 2013
Allen E. Duggar, 77, of El Dorado, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado. He was born on December 29, 1935 in El Dorado to the late Allen E. Duggar SR and Eva (Hafer) Duggar. Allen was a member of College Avenue Church of Christ. He enjoyed Deer and Duck Hunting, along with Bass Fishing. He was a lifelong member of the NRA, B.A.S.S, Buck Masters and the North American Hunting Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Arch and Ella Duggar; aunt, Lela Evans and his daughter, Kay Bishop.
Survivors include; his wife, of 51 years, Hazel Duggar of El Dorado; two sons, Jeff Duggar and wife Cyndi of North Richland Hills, TX and Charlie Duggar and wife Jane of Parkers Chapel; one daughter, Tabitha Rausch and husband Richard of Hot Springs; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Arlington Memorial Park with Bro. Kent Jobe and Dr. Dan Williams officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. There will be no public visitation prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Union County Animal Protection Society.
