Violet Yarbrough
January 9, 1925 - April 27, 2011
Violet Yarbrough, 86 of Camden and formerly of the Sandyland Community died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden following a brief illness.
Born January 9, 1925 in Hico, Texas she was the daughter of James and Minnie Ramsey Tinsley. Mrs. Yarbrough was a lifelong homemaker, enjoying cooking and sewing in addition to being an avid reader. She was a member of the Sandyland Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death along with her parents were her husband, Roy A. Yarbrough and sisters, Ola Bennett and Clo Yarbrough and brothers, Lavell Tinsley, Bronnie Tinsley, J. M. Tinsley and Robert Tinsley.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Yarbrough (Pat) of El Dorado, a daughter, Carolyn Estes of Camden along with five grandchildren, Eric Estes (Kelly) of Little Rock, Kimberley Smith (Bo) of Camden, Jennifer Yarbrough of Phoenix, AZ, Eric Bearden of Salzburg, Austria, and Laura Yarbrough of Arequipa, Peru. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, Logan Estes, Lauren Estes both of Little Rock, Katherine Smith and Alexandria Smith both of Camden and Darian Caulkins of Phoenix, AZ.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 29, 2011 at Smackover Cemetery with Rev. Jason Yarbrough officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. Thursday evening.

William H. "Bud" Marks
January 7, 1924 - August 16, 2012
William H. “Bud” Marks, 88 of El Dorado passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at his home. He was born January 7, 1924 in Ouachita County, AR to James Leon and Ethel (Smith) Marks.
Bud was a longtime member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He served in the Navy during WWII. After the war Bud returned home and married the love of his life. Bud retired from Pumps and Power as a welder. In 1968 Bud went to Guyana, South America for a few years and became a welding instructor for (AIFLD) Training School. While in Guyana, he also started the first square dancing club where he instructed square dancing and even called the dances. Over the years Bud and Dorothy were blessed with six daughters and being out numbered seven to one might explain why Bud was so active in civic affairs. Bud was a member of the Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge in Lisbon. He was a charter member of the Local 706 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union and also the apprenticeship program coordinator for 24years. He was a member and past president of the Farm Bureau Association and served on the board for 25 years. He was also a member and past president of the Union County Cattleman’s Association in addition to being a member of the State Cattleman’s Association.
Preceding him in death are his parents, one daughter, Carol (Marks) Dees, seven sisters, Beatrice Kellum, Elsie Gardner, Mildred Edwards, Myrceal Whitten, Delores Bergeron, Linda Matthews and Avalene Messina.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Marks of El Dorado; five daughters, Judy Floyd and husband, Skip of Arlington, TX; Linda McConnell of Van Alstyne, TX; Barbara Marks of El Dorado, AR; Betty Ferguson of Texarkana, AR; Gail Griffith and husband, Claude Earl of Three Creeks, AR; eight grandchildren, Reck McConnell, Trevor McConnell, Jackie Floyd, Trey Floyd, Heath Lotz, Heather Scheaffer, Michael Stegall, Michelle Porter; nine great grandchildren, two sisters, Laurie Wolchik, Syble Horn, special godsons, Buddy Jackson, John, Dwayne, Dennis, and Jerome Thompson and numerous nieces, nephews and host of many friends.
Visitation will be from 5-8pm Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Monday, August 20, 2012 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Pelz officiating. Burial will follow at Burns-Ebenezer Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado, AR.
Pallbearers will be John Thompson, Dwayne Thompson, Dennis Thompson, Buddy Jackson, Joe Willett, Bob Willett. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Local 706.

Robert Chris Phillips
November 12, 1950 - October 23, 2012
Robert Chris Phillips, 61, of Magnolia, passed away with family by his side on October 23, 2012 after a lengthy battle with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy at the University of Arkansas Medical Science in Little Rock, AR.
He was born at Lamartine Community on November 12, 1950 to Christopher Columbus and Avis Florene (Bridges) Phillips. Robert worked for many years as a Mechanic for Billy Lowery Automotive in Pasadena, TX. He loved spending time with his family and especially his two grandsons.
He is survived by his loving wife, Irene; daughter, Kristi Christie & husband, Gary; two grandsons, Braden Christie and Cameron Christie all of Magnolia, AR; three brothers, Richard Phillips Meyerhoff, Floyd Sanders and Lloyd Sanders; two sisters, Ola Mayfield and Linda Young; three sisters in law, Wanda Thomas, Anja Edwards and Connie Walker; one brother in law, Billy Foster; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James Sanders, two brothers in law, Richard Foster and Junior Thomas.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8pm at Bailey Funeral Home in Magnolia.
Memorial services will be at 3:00pm Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Billy Lowery officiating under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in Magnolia.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Jerry's Kids Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Rosa George Norris
August 14, 1923 - August 2, 2011
Rosa George Norris, 87 of Junction City, AR; died on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Union General Hospital in Farmerville, LA. after a lengthy illness.
Born on August 14, 1923 in Pine Bluff, AR.; she was the daughter of Marshall and Ethel Lewis George. Rosa retired from the Junction City School System where she worked in the cafeteria and drove a bus. She was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church of El Dorado.
Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Herschel George, Rex George, Raymond George, a sister Marie George, and her husband Lenox R Norris.
Survivors are sons Buddy and Shelley Norris of Farmerville, LA and Rick Melanie Norris of Hot Springs, AR, a brother Lloyd George of Sheridan, AR, along with 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, August 5, 2011 in the chapel of Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City with Rev. Nick ONale officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Junction City.
The family will receive friends at Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Graveside services and Interment for Mrs. Kathleen Malone, will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Chalybeate Springs Cemetery with Rev. Deryl Jones officiating. Services are under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing, LA
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at Bailey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Malone was born November 11, 1939 in Bradley, AR to Charlie Judson “C.J.” and Velma Gleason Spruell and died Thursday, July 5, 2012 in Shreveport. She lived most of her life in the Plain Dealing area, was a member of the Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church and worked as a cook at several convenience stores. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jefferson Malone on May 20, 1993; by her parents and brother. Charles Spruell.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Louise Malone of Plain Dealing, LA; son, Robert J. Malone of Many, LA; sister, Christine Fisher of Georgetown, GA; brother, Raymond Spruell of Avinger, TX; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dan and Johnette Malone; Larry Malone, brother-in-law, all of Keithville, LA; Minette Cox, sister-in-law and her husband, Bill of Ruston, LA; and several nieces and nephews.
LaDonna Eloise Watts
January 24, 1928 - August 16, 2012
LaDonna Eloise Watts, age 84 of Norphlet, passed from this life on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at her home in Norphlet. She was born on January 24, 1928 at Mt. Ida, Arkansas to the late Gilbert Lawrence and Eva McCaskill Bates. LaDonna was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norphlet. She was a loving Mother, Mamaw, Great Mamaw, sister and friend. Ladonna was also known as the cake lady around Norphlet. She loved making cakes for her family and friends of the Norphlet Community.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Woodrow Watts; two brothers, G.L. Bates and Fred Bates; and one sister, Othelda Toombs.
Those left to cherish her memory include; one son, Jimmy Watts and his wife Lynda of Norphlet; two granddaughters, Kim Ingram and her husband James, Krista Ward and her husband Keith all of Norphlet; three great grandchildren, Whitney Milhollen, Chase Milhollen and Courtney Ingram all of Norphlet; two sisters, Arnell Arnold and Nelda Bates both of Norphlet.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Doug Wells and Bro. Bob Inmon officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
Visitation will be Saturday evening, August 18, 2012 from 4-6 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home.
