Nathaniel Holmes III
Nathaniel Holmes III “Nat", 69, passed away on Tuesday, July 11th, 2017 in Bella Vista, Arkansas. Nat was born in Chicago, Illinois to Gwendolyn Joyce Macdonald and Nathaniel Ralph Holmes II.
He is survived by his sister Daphne Joyce Daniels; brother William “Tad” Holmes; son, Nathaniel Chandler Holmes IV, and his wife Karen; daughter, Dianna Jayne Wissink, and her husband Travis; daughter, Julia Anne Ortiz, and her husband Joseph; daughter, Elizabeth Anne Holmes; their mother, Mary Ann Holmes, and his six grandchildren; Alexandra, Jack, Addison, Aiden, Jacob and Amalia.
Nat served his country in the United States Marine Corp in Vietnam (1967-1968). During his time in Vietnam he served in 5 major combat operations providing key communications for air and fire arm support of his unit. Nat received the Navy Achievement Medal for his service as well as a Purple Heart.
He later graduated from the police academy and University of Redlands in California. He went on to work for the San Clemente PD, the City of Orange PD and lastly for the San Jacinto PD where he retired in 1997 after serving as their police chief. He retired from the Riverside FBI in 1998. Upon retiring, Nat settled in Arkansas and enjoyed flying helicopters, road trips, visiting friends and family and reading.
A graveside service will be held on July 21st at 10:00 am at Cedar Hill Cemetery located in Brownsville, Ohio. Full military honors will be provided by Mound Builders, VFW Post #1060, “All American Post” of Newark, Ohio.

Raymond A. Phipps
Raymond A Phipps, 86, of Fayetteville passed away at home July 10th, 2017. He was born December 24th, 1930 to Earl and Grace Phipps.
Raymond graduated from Prairie Grove in 1949 and served honorably in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife Deena Cowan Phipps.
Raymond is survived by four sons and their wives, Tony and Donna, Mike and Darlene, Scott and Joni, Danny and Debbie, a daughter and her husband, Tammy and Brad Wetzel, a sister, Mary Campbell, eight grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at 10:30 Saturday July 15th, 2017 at Weddington Cemetery.
Don Allen Bright
Don Allen Bright, 80, of Fayetteville passed away July 10 at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born May 15, 1937 in Oklahoma City, OK to Virgil and Martha Bright, both of whom preceded him in death.
Don is survived by his wife, Maureen Bright; daughter, Debbie Van Horn and her husband Lee; grandsons, Jacob and Nathan Williams; great-grandchildren: Ryan, Reagan, and Ian Williams; and sisters, Jackie Bredenger and Judi Davis.
Don was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he attended Marquette High School. He also attended the University of Tulsa, as well as Texas Christian University. During his life in Tulsa, he was a member of the Air National Guard.
Through mutual friends he met and married Maureen Johnson and they lived in Tulsa until moving to Prairie Grove, AR to raise cattle in 1978. In 2002 after Don retired, they moved to Fayetteville. This year they celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.
Don enjoyed writing most of all and was a prolific poet. He also wrote editorials for the local newspaper and hosted call-in shows for local radio stations.
No service or viewing will be held.
Stacie Sjoquist
Stacie Sjoquist, of Springdale died Monday, July 10, 2017 at Willard Walker Hospice House.
Survivors: two sons; Eric Jones and his wife Nicki, of Springdale, Jayson Bonetti, of Washington DC, three brothers including Eric Sjoquist, of Springdale, one sister, and two granddaughters.
Mary Linda Peterson
Mary Linda Peterson, 69, of Farmington died Sunday, July 09, 2017 at Willard Walker Hospice House located in Fayetteville. She was born September 27, 1947 in Bristow, Oklahoma the daughter of Edna Mae Long and Chester Alexander Penn.
She enjoyed reading, working with her husband Mike and spending time with family.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Linda is survived by: her husband of 29 years, Michael Peterson, four sons; Jason Peterson and his wife Lou of Utah, Corey Peterson, of Utah, Kyle Peterson and his wife Sarah, of Utah, Jeremy Peterson, of Farmington, two daughters; Tonya Stout and her husband Darrell, of Washington, Michele Levine, of Rogers, two brothers; Leroy Penn and his wife Kathy, of Idaho, Larry Penn and his wife Katie, of Oklahoma, one sister; Lois Shamas, of Oklahoma, numerous nieces and nephews, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Marilyn Elizabeth Briggs
Marilyn Elizabeth Briggs, 79, of Bentonville died Tuesday, July 04, 2017 at her residence. She was born March 16, 1938 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
She was a Homemaker and a Catholic.
Survivors: five children, grandchildren, many extended family members, and host of friends.
Regenia Mae Bates
Regenia Mae Bates, 63, of Bentonville died Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 19, 1954 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma the daughter of Dorothea (Parks) and Bill Dail.
She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, friends, and fur babies, and also baking, cooking, fishing, sewing, and scrapbooking. She was preceded in death by her father.
Regenia is survived by: her husband; David Lee Bates, whom she married October 2, 1971, her mother; Dorothea Dail, of Rogers, two sons; Matthew Bates and his wife Meshell Bates, of Bentonville, Marcus Bates and his wife Amy, of Bentonville, one brother; Billy Dail and his wife Misty, of Bella Vista, two sisters; April Warner and her husband Wayne, of Rogers, Kim Fletcher and her husband Jay, of Garfield, and her grandchildren; Caitlin Bates, Haliegh Bates, Madison Bates, Layne Sisco, Braeden Bates, Bryce Bates, Brennen Bates, Brylee Bates, and Brielle Bates.
Funeral service will be Friday at 10am at House of God Church located at 218 North 1st Street in Rogers with Lisa Schroder officiating. Interment will follow at Centerton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Billy Dail, Matthew Bates, Mark Bates, Braeden Bates, Bryce Bates, and Dereck Brandon.

Betty Jane Craiglow
Betty Jane Craiglow, 83, of Fayetteville died Tuesday. She was born December 29, 1933 in Flint, Michigan to Henry and Elsie Enders.
Preceded in death: her parents and her husband, George.
Survivors: sons: Kevin Barnett, Keith Barnett, and Kent Barnett; nieces: Sarah, Jessica, and Rebecca Barnett.
Andrew "Jackie" Harley Noland Jr.
Andrew "Jackie" Harley Noland Jr., 64, of Garfield died Sunday, September 24, 2017, at Circle of Life Hospice House located in Springdale after a long battle with cancer. He was born May 22, 1953, in Springdale, the son of Andrew "Jack" Harley and Anna "Faye" Pollock Noland.
Andrew proudly served in both the United States Air Force and Navy. He loved spending time with his family and friends, traveling, fishing on his boat, and singing and playing his guitar. Most of all, he loved Jesus with all his heart.
In addition to his parents, Andrew was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Lee Noland.
Andrew is survived by his wife Rosemary Ann Noland, whom he was married to for 45 years; his eldest son, Veral Dwayne Noland and wife Kristi, of Springdale; his only daughter, Kimberly Faye Coger and husband Larry, of Springdale; his youngest son, Justin James Noland and wife Marna, of Garfield; two loving sisters, Suzie Augusta DuFrene and Anna Faye Moore, both of Lowell; brother, Timmy Noland, of Lowell; six grandchildren, Corey and Ashley Crowther, Jadon Coger, Amber Smith, James Gray and Savannah Noland; one great grandchild, Carter Crowther; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Andrew’s life will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 1PM at the Apostolic Life Church, 2320 W Huntsville Road, Springdale, AR. Interment was held at Hickory Creek Cemetery in Lowell.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Arvest Care savings account for Andrew Harley Noland, Jr.
