Floys Keenen
Floys Keenen, 77, of Rogers, Arkansas died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. She was born August 5, 1935 in Morrilton, Arkansas the daughter of Clintie Lamb and W.A. Dawdy.
She enjoyed scrapbooking, crafting, sewing and genealogy. She taught elementary school for many years at Lowell, Southside, and Westside where she taught the year it opened in 1964. She was a member of the Liberty Bell Extension Homemakers Club and worked with the Liberty Bell 4-H Club for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Rogers for over 50 years where she taught children and senior adult ladies in Sunday School. She also worked in Vacation Bible School.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kenneth.
Floys is survived by two daughters, Beverly Keenen of Rogers, Arkansas and Lori Smith and her husband, Jerry, of Lexington, Kentucky; one sister, Edna Smith and her husband, John, of Battle Ground, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, March 18, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at First Baptist Church of Rogers.
Funeral service will be Monday, March 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Rogers with Pastor Wes George and Mark Maier officiating. Interment will follow at Rogers Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randy Hickman, P.J. Harrison, Mike Shivley, Jim Casey, Wayne Welty, Richard Smith, and Russ Hillian.
Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church of Rogers to the Building Fund or Music Ministry.
Martha Schumaker
Martha Schumaker, 87, of Lowell, Arkansas died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born August 29, 1925 in Sellersburg, Indiana.
Survivors include her husband, Guy Schumaker, and many loving relatives.
Vivian Schliebe
Vivian Schliebe, 106, of Centerton, Arkansas died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Circle of Life in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born October 10, 1906 in Columbia, South Dakota.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Geary, and her husband, of Centerton.
Carol Moore
Carol Lee Moore of Bentonville died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Bradford House.
She was born January 14, 1945 at Holdenville, Oklahoma to Neil Sheilds and Artie Sheilds of Oklahoma. Her mother is still living in Holdenville and two brothers, Ronnie Sheilds and Mike Sheilds, of Oklahoma.
She has two surviving daughters, Tonya Hoerle, from Lebanon, Missouri; son-in-law, Sandy; two boys, Morgan and Wyatt; and a daughter, Kyza, adopted by Floyd Moore and Carol Moore, and husband, MacKenzie, and their two boys.
LaDean Ball of Bentonville, Arkansas with her three kids, Matthew, Kendra, and Marcus Ball. With five grandkids, a surviving son, Floyd Moore Jr, and Melanie with their one boy and three girls.
Floyd and Carol were married July 7, 1964, for a total of 46 years.
Memorial service will be Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Stars and Stripes Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Bro. J.P. Davis officiating.
Robert Mills
Robert Allen Mills, 66, of Fayetteville, Arkansas died Friday, March 8, 2013 at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville. He was born August 11, 1946 in Fort Smith to James and Kathryn (Keck) Mills.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Mensa. He enjoyed reading, fishing, golfing, and traveling.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother, and one grandchild.
He is survived by one son, Mark Mills, of Madison, Wisconsin; one daughter, Marie Adams, of Fort Smith; two sisters, Nancy Willis and her husband, Donnie, of Caldwell, Texas and Cindy Dryden of Everett, Massachusetts; four grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
Memorials may be sent to the VA Hospital in Fayetteville.
Deborah Brouillette
Deborah Lynn Brouillette, 59, of Fayetteville, Arkansas died Friday, March 8, 2013 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
She was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Story, and her parents.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Kyle; son, Zachary; daughter, Haley, all of the home; and brother, Ronnie Bogard, of Little Rock.
Nell Pederson
Nell Helen Pederson, 87, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas died Friday, March 8, 2013 at Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville. She was born September 12, 1925 in Fayetteville, Arkansas the daughter of Martha Ann Tendal and J. E. Edlin.
She was a unit secretary at St. Mary’s Rogers Memorial Hospital for many years. She enjoyed spending quality time with all her grandchildren, fishing, gardening, and serving with Marriage Encounter for many years. She had lived in the Northwest Arkansas for her lifetime. She was a member at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Loren Pederson Sr. in 1999, three brothers, three sisters, and her granddaughter, Desondra Comi.
Nell is survived by her son, Loren D. “Larry” Pederson and his wife, Hes, of Rogers; two daughters, Paula. R. Pierce and her husband, Carl, of Hermann, Missouri and Cathy L. Comi and her husband, Ron, of Eureka Springs; two sisters, Wilma DeClerk and her husband, Johnnie, of Pocahontas and Marie Forhand of Rogers; five grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers. Interment will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery in Rogers.
Pallbearers will be her family members.
Memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Marie Williams
Marie Meda Williams, 73, of Bentonville, Arkansas died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at her home. She was born October 29, 1939 in New York.
She was a homemaker and is survived by many relatives. Services will be in Alaska over the summer.
George Simpson
George Willis Simpson, 83, of Biloxi, Mississippi died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at a nursing home in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was born February 10, 1930 in Hagler, Arkansas the son of Ollie and Willis Simpson.
He proudly served in the US Navy for three years and for twenty years in the US Air Force, where he obtained an honorable discharge. He retired after fifteen years at Wal-Mart as the Director of Transportation. He enjoyed motor-homing and farming after retiring from the Air Force. He enjoyed living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 32 years, Mammie Nell Simpson, his parents, and five brothers, Joe Simpson, Paul Simpson, Lloyd Simpson, John Simpson, and Lawrence Simpson.
George is survived by two sons, David Simpson and his wife, Michelle, of Washburn, Missouri and Carl Simpson and his wife, Deborah, of Bentonville, Arkansas; six sisters, Laura Carter, Edith Hagstrom, Imogene Brown, Christina Miller, Elizabeth Bessie Hill, and Annie McBride; seven grandchildren, Ashley Camplain, Nicole Simpson, Cheyenne Easley, Jessica Doss, Rachel Hudman, Ryan Simpson, and Jordan Simpson; and four great-grandchildren, Brenley Camplain, Emery Doss, Ava Hudman, and Hayden Doss.
Graveside service will be Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Coffelt Cemetery in Vaughn, Arkansas with Pastor Phillip Smith officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Northwest Arkansas Honor Guard of Rogers.
