Robert "Bob" G. Petersen, Col. USAFR, Ret. passed away on June 17, 2012. Bob was born December 3, 1930 in Little Rock, Arkansas to his parents, Nell and Gregg Petersen. He graduated from Little Rock High School and attained his undergraduate degree from Hendrix College. He went on to receive a Master's degree from the University of Arkansas and began his teaching and coaching career in 1960 at Jeff Davis High School in North Little Rock. Bob moved on to become coach and athletic director at Northwest Mississippi Junior College and then on to Kilgore Junior College where the team won the 1966 NJCAA National Championship. For this accomplishment the entire Kilgore football team was inducted into the 2008 National Junior College Athletics Assn. Hall of Fame. After a brief coaching stint at Louisiana College, Bob became a pharmaceutical representative for Smith, Kline & French in Monroe, Louisiana. From there, he became a representative for E. R. Squibb in North Little Rock. He retired in 1986.
Bob served in the United States Air Force Reserves. He was Commander of the 96 MAPS at the Little Rock Air Force Base. He specialized in proper aircraft loading techniques of C130s deployed from LRAFB. He was an Air Force liaison to Adjutant General Harold Gwatney.
Bob was an ardent supporter of Camp Aldersgate. He volunteered his time to support and educate people on the importance of such a wonderful organization. He was also a member of the North Little Rock Rotary Club where he actively participated in the club's charity efforts. One in particular was the "I Like Me" Books for Kindergarten Children.
Bob leaves behind his loving wife, Melba, of 55 years. Two sons, R. Gregg Petersen, II and his wife Marie D. Friend and Steven B. Petersen and his wife Denise, both of Little Rock. Grandson, Joseph Petersen, wife Patience and great grandson Jaiden, and grandsons, Jordan Petersen and Garrett Burrow and granddaughters, Laura Taylor Burrow and Mary Katherine Burrow. Two sisters, Barbara Huban of Conway and Andrea Gillespie and her husband Melvin of Beaver Creek, Ohio. Two nephews, John Huban, his wife Sarah Marie and daughter Emma of Decater, GA. and, Andrew Gillespie, his wife Jennifer and daughter Olivia of Columbus, Ohio.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday at First United Methodist Church located in North Little Rock at 6701 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, followed by a visitation at the church.

Bertie Mae (Kinley) Gordon, 95, of North Little Rock made her transition into the next phase of her spiritual journey on Thursday, June 14, 2012. She was a retired elementary school teacher and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, quilting, cooking and spending time with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Janie Berry and husband Robert, of Sherwood and Laurie Waters and husband, Robert, of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Angela Ferguson and husband, Jud, Ashley Berry, Andrew Berry and wife Janessa and Adrian Berry; great-grandchildren, Sam and Olivia Ferguson, Lucas, Locklan, Leven and Lyric Berry and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Allan Gordon; grandson, Allan Berry; two brothers, Raymond and Pete; and two sisters, Tennie and Faye.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.

Gerald "Jerry" Stanley, 76, of Conway passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012. Jerry was greeted in Heaven by his grandmother, Ethel Montgomery and mother, Audrey Gardner who preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons Ray and Elvie; five brothers, Aubrey, Butch, Mike, Burt and Kirk Gardner; and his sister, Becky Boeckmann.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Conway Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, where his many friends and caretakers loved his kidding and caring personality.

Floyd "Butch" Bisbee, 68, of Little Rock, passed away on June 15, 2012.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Edith Bisbee of Little Rock; two sons, Bart William Bisbee and wife, Winter, of Little Rock; Timothy Albert Bisbee and wife, Savannah, of Little Rock; daughter, Stacey Marie Bisbee Chambers and husband Capt. John of Jacksonville; brother, Kenneth "Pat" Bisbee and wife, Ilene of Little Rock; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Alma and Lessie Lenora Beard Bisbee; three brothers, Bill, Frank and LeRoy Bisbee.

Ellon B. Holmes, 90, of Little Rock passed away on Monday, June 11, 2012.
She is survived by her brother, Roy F. "Doc" Braden and wife, Lois, of Little Rock; nieces, Jennette Brown, of Woodland Park, Colorado; MaryFrances Travis (Michael) of Medford, Oregon; Becky Bryan (Tom) of Bentonville, Arkansas; nephew, James F. Braden (Mary Kay) of North Little Rock; and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Holmes, sister-in-law Betty Graddy Braden; brother, John Ed Braden (Mildred) and nephew, Johnny Braden.
Ellon and Carl operated a successful T.V. repair business from 1952 until Carl's death in 1969.

Beverly Diane Fuller, 55 of North Little Rock went home to be with the Lord on April 30, 2012. She was of the Christian faith and retired from the State of Arkansas.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, John Calvin Fuller and Louise Chreene Fuller. Survivors include her son, Brad Fuller (Tasha) and grandchildren, Dylan & Kailey Fuller all of Little Rock; special friend, Hugh Love; aunts, Betty Whittle (Don), Dorothy White (Eddie), Helen Dunn (Frank), Carol Fuller (Jack); uncles, Drew Chreene and Leon Chreene; grand-dog Molly, and several family members and friends.

Howard Phillips, 86, of Sherwood went to be with his heavenly Father Friday, April 27, 2012. He was a Baptist, a member of the Sherwood Masonic Lodge and retired car man from Union Pacific Railroad.
He is survived by four children, Virginia Satchell, Melissa Rankin, Mike Phillips, and Brenda Clark (Jay); five grandchildren, Jason Clark, Les Rankin (Tracy), Stephanie Rankin, Jennifer Moore (Chris), and Steven Phillips (Anna); seven great-grandchildren, Megan, Maddie, Jillian, Tinzley, Eilee, Kylee, and Aydin; two brothers, Jim Phillips (Ruby) and David Phillips; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maurice Phillips, his parents, seven brothers, one sister, and granddaughter, Jillian Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 2nd at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.
Leroy Hedrick

Leroy Hedrick, 87 of East End, passed away in Little Rock on Friday, May 4, 2012 from dementia. He was born to W.W. and Viola Potts Hedrick in White County, Arkansas on October 19, 1924.
He is survived by his wife, Bernia Hedrick; 1 son, WC "Dub" and Debbye Hedrick of East End; 2 daughters, Vicki Hedrick of Little Rock and Mary and Larry Bisbee of East End; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Alvin Hedrick; and 2 sisters and a brother.
Leroy was ordained as Deacon in 1966, and was a Sunday School Teacher and a wonderful Christian Man. He loved hunting and fishing, and mostly his family.
Visitation will be held Tuesday May 8, 2012 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at Forest Tower Baptist Church in Hensley, with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery.
The family wants to say thank you to Madison Health and Rehab on Dixon Road and Arkansas Hospice for their special love and care.
