Doyne Hefley
Doyne Hefley, 84, of Russellville died Sunday, May 13, 2001 at Stella Manor Nursing Center. A son of the late Mitchell Irvin and Ola Shelton Hefley, he was born March 7, 1917, in Newton County. He was a star route mail carrier in Newton County for over 20 years. He retired from Con Agra Foods in Russellville in 1983, havind served over 10 years as a security guard. He was a member of the 5th and Greenwich Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Hefley, and a sister, Sybil Hefley. Survivors include his wife, Lilden Hefley; two sons, James R. Hefley of Marion and Gary Hefley of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; a daughter, Brigetta Smith of Russellville; a sister, Helen Pratt of Ozark; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral was 1 p.m. Thursday May 17 at the Shinn Chapel with Jimmie McCutcheon officiating. Burial was in Tarlton cemetery near Lurton.

Henry C. Heflin
Henry C. Heflin, age 79, of Independence, died Friday, March 2, 2001 at the Maywood Terrace Living Center.
Mr. Heflin was born September 17, 1921 in Red Star, Arkansas and had lived in Missouri for more than 40 years. He worked in maintenance for the Ford Motor company, retiring after 26 1/2 years of service, and was a member of the United Auto Workers. he was an Army veteran.
His survivors include his wife, Harriet Heflin of Independence; two sons, Henry W. Heflin of Grain Valley, and Jimmy E.. Heflin of Sugar Creek; one daughter, Alice K. Feltinberger of Independence; one sister, Helen Hawkins of Judsonia, Arkansas; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were at Mount Washington cemetery. The Family suggests contributions to Mount Washington Baptist Church. Arrangements were under the direction of D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel.
Dale Eugene Hefner
Dale Eugene Hefner, 67, of Huntsville, Arkansas, died May 5, 2001 at his home. He was born August 4, 1933 at Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Oscar Milton and Bonnie Lee Everett Hefner. He had retired from Butterball Turkey Company in Huntsville and a veteran of the Korean War, Serving in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Debra Ann Cuzick on November 24, 1984.
Survivors include; his wife, Mrs. Linda Ann Wren Hefner of the home; two sons, Ross Milton Hefner of Huntsville and Steven Randall Hefner of Springdale, Arkansas; two daughters, Mrs. Terry Lynn Corkern and Mrs. Dawn Renee Alley, both of Huntsville. Twenty grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 8, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Rev. Butch Bolinger officiating. Interment was in Alabam cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. Pallbearers were; Gene Townsend, Randy Drumwright, Jamie Vanderpool, Matthew Duke, Stephen Corkern, and Corey Alley.
Charles Dean Heithold
Charles Dean Heithold, 35, of 301 Midland, Springdale, Arkansas, died June 23, 2000 at the Kellmark Nursing Center in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born June 10 2000 (error) at Fayetteville, Arkansas, the son of Gary Charles and Geneva Lee Johnson Heithold. He was a metal fabricator and a Baptist.
Survivors include: one son, Cody Heithold of Fayetteville, Arkansas; his parents, Gary and Dona Heithold of Springdale, Arkansas; two brothers, Curtis Lee Heithold of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Colonel Bradley Allen Heithold of Tamps, Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Dory Ann Shivers and Mrs.. Toni Louise Foster, both of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and his grandmother, Mrs. Mary Hampton of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Graveside services were held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 26, at the Wesley cemetery with Rev. Leslie Elam officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.
Velmer A. Herriman
Velmer A. Herriman, 87, of Omak, Washington, died May 7, 2001 at Harmony House, Brewster, Washington, She was born February 27, 1914 at Witter, Arkansas to David Delbert and Sarah Ellar Edens Odgen. She was raised at Witter. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, George, one child, Jerry, two grandchildren, Michael Davis and Cheryl Herriman, and three great-grandchildren.
She was married
Millard D. Herriman on August 2, 1929 in Huntsville, Arkansas. They were married
for 57 years when he died March 28, 1987. They lived in Madison County, Arkansas until 1943 when they moved to Pike County, Missouri. Then in 1948, she moved to Omak. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Okanogan.
She is survived by children Freda and Norman Fallesen of Bolivar, Missouri. Coy 'Zeb' and Nadie, Dewey and Donna Herriman of Omak, Troy and Carole, Frank and Trinia Herriman of Okanogan, Mary and Stanley Davis and Ellen and Art Anderson of Omak, Joanne Herriman, daughter-in-law, of Omak.
Grandchildren are: Anne Keller of Louisiana, Missouri, Jay and Mark Fallesen, Jan Burns of Missouri, Mary Sosa of Diamond City, Missouri, Glenn and Coy Ray Herriman, Connie Black, Thelma Marlett, Roy Gene, Jennifer, Josh and Jonathan Herriman of Omak, Sandra Badger of Tonasket, Washington, Michael Herriman of Nevada, Dan Herriman of Bothell, Washington, Kathy Rose of Edmonds, Washington, Troy Herriman of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Don and Debi England of Arkansas, Robert Davis and David Herriman of Cheney, Washington, Melissa George of Seattle, Washington, B. Funeral services were held Friday, May 11, 2001 at Barnes Elmway Chapel, Omak, Washington, with Minister Ed Rodgers officiating. Burial was at the Riverside cemetery under the direction of Barnes Elmway Chapel.

Joyce Ann Herrington
Joyce Ann Herrington, 61, of Huntsville, Arkansas died May 21, 2001 at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab in Huntsville, She was born May 5, 1940 at Huntsville, Arkansas, the daughter of Frank Orville and Mildred Irene Gabbard Herrington. She attended the Lower Smyrna Christian Union Church and was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Billy Joe Herrington, on February 18, 1945.
Survivors include: four brothers, James Herrington of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Bobby Herrington of Elm Springs, Arkansas, Kenneth Herrington of Cassville, Missouri and Alvin Herrington of Garfield, Arkansas; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Threat of Fayetteville, Arkansas and several nephews and nieces.
Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at the Fritts cemetery with Sister Anna Lea Warren officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.
Cora Hill
Cora Hill, 92, of Springdale died Saturday, February 10, 2001 in Springdale.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, at Sand Hill cemetery at Yardelle with Paul Eden officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.
The daughter of James and Laura Braden Henderson was born Feb. 3, 1909, in Hasty. She had lived in Wichita, Kan., for 11 years before moving to Springdale 38 years ago. She was a homemaker and member of Revival Tabernacle in Springdale.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arvil L. Hill; a son, Doyle B. Hill; three brothers, and a sister.
She is survived by a son, Gene Hill of Springdale; a daughter, Juanita Moxley of Andover, Kan.; a sister, Hazel Green of Harrison; seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Helen Shacoski Hodet
Helen Shacoski Hodet, 83, of Bella Vista died May 20, 2001, at her home. She was born Jan. 8, 1918, in Coraopolis, Penn. She moved to Bella Vista in 1968 from Brazil. She was active in a settlement house in Manila, Philippines, and was cited by Magsay Say, wife of the president, for her effort there. She was active in charities in Singapore, Malaysia and Brazil. She served as treasurer of the local chapter of United Ostomy for more than two years. She was an avid bridge player.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Richard Hodet Sr., to whom she was married
57 years; two sons, Robert P. Hodet of Rapid City, S.D., and Thomas R. Hodet Jr. of Navarre, Fla.; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.

Manda Hodge
Manda Hodge, 93 of Kansas City, Kansas died February 16, 1999 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 18, at the Morris Independent Baptist Church; burial will be in Mossville cemetery, Mossville, Arkansas. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Maple Hill Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hodge was born in Mossville, Arkansas and had lived the past 40 years in the Kansas City area. She was a member of the Morris Independent Baptist Church.
Manda was preceded in death by her husband, Will Hodge, and a daughter, Daisy Edgmon. Survivors include two sons, Johnny E. Hodge and Kenneth A. Hodge, both of Kansas City, Kansas; five daughters: Mildred Clayborn, Kansas City, Kansas, Walcie Edgmon, Centerton, Arkansas, Modena McConnell, Wright City, Oklahoma, Nadine Alexander, Milton, Florida, and Maxine Noe, Kansas City, Kansas; sister, Ola Langford, Shawnee, Kansas; 28 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Ollie Holland
Ollie Holland, 95, of Huntsville, Arkansas, died February 24, 2001 at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab in Huntsville. She was born February 16, 1906 at Red Star, Arkansas, the daughter of William F. and Corda Reed Killion. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Huntsville for more than sixty-five years. She was the widow of Felix Holland, whom she married
on March 24, 1921 and who preceded her in death on November 10, 1979. She was also preceded in death by one son, Kenneth L. Holland in 1987 and by one daughter, Ardath Yates In 2000.
Survivors include: one grandson and granddaughter-in-Iaw, Thomas and Leah Hunter of Elkins, Arkansas; one nephew, Obie Alexander of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one niece, Margaret Kelley of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two great-grandsons, Marshall Holland of Tennessee and Mason Hunter of Elkins; and one great-granddaughter, Anna Hunter of Elkins.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Rev. Rusty B1ann officiating. Interment was in the Huntsville cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville. Jerald T. Hooks, 62, of Westville died May 16, 2001, in Westville. He was born Dec. 22, 1938, in Kennett, Mo., to Warren and Dolpha Lindsey Hooks.
Survivors include his mother of Springdale; two sons, Jimmy Hooks of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Jerald Hooks of Elk City, Okla.; one daughter, Clara Rogers of Elk City; four brothers, Carl Hooks of Springdale, Eldon Hooks of Roland, Okla., William Hooks of Mena and Lonnie Hooks of Fort Smith; one sister, Geneva Dunaway of Norman, Okla.

Edith Irene Houston
Edith Irene Houston, 89, of Springdale died June 4, 2001. She was born Sept. 1, 1911, in Fayetteville. She had worked as a clerk in a department store, and she was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Clifford C. Houston, to whom she was married
Jan. 14, 1933; three sons, Marvin Houston of Springdale, Carlin Houston of Pine Bluff and Gordon Houston of Rogers; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Jewell R. Hudson
Jewell R. Hudson, 78, of Parthenon, died Thursday, December 21, 2000 at Parthenon. Funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23 at Coffman Chapel in Jasper with Bro. James Compton and Bro. Billy Paul Matlock officiating. Burial will be in the Snow cemetery at Wayton. Visitation from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 10, 1922, at Wayton, a daughter of Henry Allen and Cora Jane Snow Flippo. She was a homemaker, lifetime resident of Newton County and attended Buffalo Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joseph and Matthew Flippo and two sisters, Imogene Reynolds and Bertha King and an infant brother and sister.
She is survived by Garland Hudson of Parthenon; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dwain and Margie Hudson of Parthenon; Bill and Leda Hudson of Harrison and Larry and Margaret Hudwson of Jasper; two daughters and sons-in-law, Christene and Loy Breedlove of Japser and Maxine and Gary Nichols of Mt. Judea; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Loeda Eva Hudson
Loeda Eva Hudson, 69, of Springdale died May 30, 2001, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born Feb. 29, 1932, in Venus to Andy and Nancy Ollie Pruitt Maggard. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Hudson of the home; two sons, Glen Rush of Fayetteville and Randy Rush of Springdale; three daughters, Anita Manwarren of Springdale, Linda Brown of Ashdown and Rhonda Herzberg of Pea Ridge; four brothers, Everett Maggard and Jack Maggard, both of Springdale, Dale Maggard of Huntsville and Melvin Maggard of Witter; five sisters, Ruby Myers and Velma Porter, both of Witter, Loveda Smith and Jessie Allred, both of Springdale, Jeanie Easley of Gravette; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
Services will be at noon Friday at Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville with the Rev. Layton Porter and Porter Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Venus cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ernest 'Ernie' Wilson Hulen
Ernest 'Ernie' Wilson Hulen, 86, of Bella Vista died May 14, 2001, at his home. He was born Jan. 16, 1915, in Romulus, Okla., to Cole and Daisy Dee Jones Hulen. He attended school in Checotah, Okla., and lived in Laguna Beach, Calif., before entering the Army in 1941. He served in Alaska and Germany from 1941 to 1945. He worked at Southern California Gas Co. and retired as supervisor in 1973. He and his wife moved to Bella Vista in 1976 from Long Beach, Calif. He was a former member of the 9-Hole Men's Golf Association and the Rinkey Dinks Men's Golf Club and an avid bowler.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Mick Hulen, to whom he was married
Feb. 5, 1946; two sons and daughter-in-law, Gregory Hulen of Wrightwood, Calif., and Gary Hulen and Judy of Victorville, Calif.; three grandchildren, Jeremy, Janice and Michelle.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista with the Rev. Thomas S. Stone and the Rev. J.W. Walker officiating. Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home.

Eilene Manen, 76 of Ponca, Arkansas passed away Sat. April 7, 2001 at her home. She was born Nov. 20, 1924 at Wayton, Arkansas a daughter to Tom and Martha Pallie Youngblood Harris. She was a homemaker and a loving dedicated mother and had lived most all her life in Newton Co. She was preceded in death by her parents, a stepson, Gary Manen and a brother, Rufus Harris. A Husband Floyd Ramsey and a husband J.D. Compton.
Survivors are her husband Noel Manen of Ponca; 5 sons, Arnold (Dock) Ramsey, Bob Ramsey and Bill Ramsey all of Parthenon; James Compton of Jasper and Jiggs Compton of Moberly Mo. 4 stepsons: Jimmy Manen of Houston Tx, Larry Manen of Harrison, Richard Manen of Jasper, and Allen Manen of Compton. 8 daughters: Alice Hanna, Louise Brazeal and Betty Gaddis all of K.C. Ks.; Lavern Lawson of Mt. Home, Ar, Carol Brazeal of Pleasant Hill, Mo, Janice Turley of Shiloh, Judy Willey of Harrison, and Karen Walker of Athens, Tn. 8 brothers: Robert Loyd Harris of Humansville, Mo, Loyal Riley Harris of Flemington, Mo, Marvin Harris and Jessie Harris of K.C. Ks, Lonnie Earl Harris of Kokoma, Indiana, Arlis Gene of Harrison, Ar, Edgar Harris of Collins, Mo. and James Harris of Arma Kansas; 3 sisters: Dorothy Vanderpool of Jasper, Ark, Elvie Cain of Louisburg, Ks. and Susie Champlin of Cave City, Ar. and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services were held at the Mossville United Baptist Church Tue. 11:00am 4-10-2001 Officiating was Rev. David Stratton.
