Gailey, D.J., Pine Bluff, Sept. 3 - Mrs. D.J. Gailey, aged 70, wife of a planter of Grant county, died Sunday at Lamont. Besides her husband she is survived by one son, W.S. Gailey; one daughter, Miss Bettie Yarber, and one sister, Miss Fannie Doylton of Faith.

Galbreaith, John, Bentonville, Jan. 14 - John Galbreaith, aged 58, former resident of Bentonville, died at his hime at Doming, N.M. He is survived by a brother, Pierce Galbreaith of Bentonville, and a sister, Mrs. William Chastain, of Humansville, Mo.

Gallagher, Anna, Mrs. Anna Gallagher, aged 67, died at 6:15 o'clock last night at the family residence, 1022 Louisiana street, after an illness of several weeks. She is survived by two sons, Frank J. O'Fallon of the Terminal Railway Association of St. Louis, and William A. Gallagher of the Little Rock Fire Department; two daughters, Mrs. B.E. Kirby and Miss Fannie O'Fallon both of Little Rock, and four grandchildren, Sam B., William, Joseph and Mary Frances Kirby. Funeral services will be held from St. Andrew's cathedral at 9 o'clock Saturday morning and burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Mrs. Gallagher was born in Ireland, but for the past 50 years has lived in Little Rock. Her husband, James Gallagher, who was a well known local contractor, died 10 years ago.

Galloway, Wander, Prescott, March 14 - Miss Wander Galloway, 12 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.A. Galloway of Sutton, died at a local sanitarium today of appendicitis. Burial will be at Sutton tomorrow.

Gantt, W.H., W.H Gantt, 58, died at a local hospital at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He is survived by his wife, one sister, Mrs. Alban, and one daughter, Miss Ruth Jaquemine, both of Memphis. The body will be sent to Memphis today by P.H. Ruebel & Co., 112 East Sixth street, for burial. Mr. Gantt was a lawyer and was formerly a member of the firm of Gantt, Patterson & Gantt of Memphis.

Gardiner, W.W., Arkadelphia, Sept. 1 - The Rev. W.W. Gardiner, aged 74 years, a veteran of the Confederacy, and for many years a prominent Baptist minister, died at his home here yesterday. For the past 20 years he was field agent for the Baptist Orphan's Home at Monticello. He has made Arkadelphia his home since 1898. He had been a most active man and until a few weeks ago was still in service. His death was the result of a general breakdown due to old age.

He is suvived by eight children; S.E. Gardiner of Stockdale, Tex.; W.A. Gardiner of Sabinal, Tex.; F.J. Gardiner of Bixby, Okla.; C.B. Gardiner, Miss Mamie Gardiner, Miss Hassie Gardiner of this city and Mrs. W.E. Ellis of San Antonio, Tex. Funeral services were held yesterday, conducted by Dr. C.E. Dickes, president of Ouachita College. Interment took place in Rose Hill cemetery.

Garrett, Martha E., Clarksville, Jan 7 - Mrs. Martha E. Garrett, aged 81, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emma Hicks, at Fort Gibson, Okla. The body arrived in Clarksville this morning and funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian church, of which she was a member, by the Rev Marcus E Lindsay. Mrs. Garrett was a former resident of Johnson county, having gone to Oklahoma in recent years. She was a sister of Mrs. R D Dunlap Sr. and A. F. Ward, both of Clarksville. She is survived by four daughters and two sons.

Gash, L.R., Clarksville, July 18 - L.R. (But) Gash of Spadra, 40 years old, while working on the coal tipple of the Needmore mine, was thrown from a runway cage 70 feet from the ground and was instantly killed when his head struck a timber in the fall. Another man was with him when it started up, but managed to clear before it developed great speed. Mr. Gash is survived by his wife and four children; 7/19/1917

Gatlin, Jesse, Earle, May 18 - Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Gatlin, each aged about 60, were instantly killed at a grade crossing, about two miles south of here, early this afternoon, when an auto they were driving was struck by a switch engine. Mr. Gatlin's head was crushed and Mrs. Gatlin's body was nearly cut in two.

Mr. and Mrs. Gatlin were making their first trip in a new automobile. At a crossing in the yards of the Crittenden Lumber Company, two miles south of town, the car stalled on the track and was struck by the locomotive. Mr. Gatlin is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lena Rasberry of Memphis; and a son, Claude Gatlin of Marianna. Mrs. Gatlin is survived by a son, Russel May of Mariana. The funeral services will be held Saturday at Wynne.

Gattinger, J.E., Piggott, Jan 28 - J E Gattinger, aged 50, of this place, died Thursday night from a stroke of apoplexy. Mr. Gattinger had been in the hotel business many years at Malden, Mo., Prescott, Rector and Pigott, having been proprietor of the Palace hotel here for several years. He established the Gattinger hotel. His wife, three sons and one daughter survive.

Mrs. George was born in Benton County, her parents being Mr. and Mrs. Henry Butler. She was Married December 29, 1895 and moved to Little Rock in 1920. Mrs. George was a member of the First Methodist church and of the state and local Women's Christian Temperance Union. She took an active part in the work of the union, having been corersponding secretary of the state organization for several years. She also was an officer of the Educational Aid Society. She is survived by her husband, and two sons, Leslie and Floyd, all of Little Rock, and two brothers, John Butler of Welch Okla. Funeral services will be held at the parlors of R F Drummond & Co at 2:30 p.m.today in charge of the Rev W C Martin, assisted by the Rev Otto Whittington. Gerlach, Godfrey, A. B. Gerlach of North Little Rock yesterday received notice of the death of his brother, Godfrey Gerlach, aged 78 of Kenton, O. Mr. Gerlach died at 10:20 o'clock Wednesday. He is survived by three sons and one daughter and one brother. His wife died several years ago.

Ghio, A.L., Texarkana, March 26 - Former Mayor A.L. Ghio, aged 85, one of the founders of Texarkana, Tex., died this norming at his home here after an illness of several weeks. He was born in Italy April 10, 1832, and came to Boston, Mass., when a young man. He was married in 1865. He came to Texarkana in 1873, and was present at the first sale of town lots in the city. He retired from business several years ago, having accumulated a comfortable fortune. He was three times mayor of the city. He had also served as a member of the School Board and alderman. He is survived by his wife, three sons and three daughters. The children include Mrs. J.L. Griffin of Mineral Wells, Mrs. John Fiedler of Bonham, Mrs. Homer L. Vaughan of Texarkana, Victor, Gus and A.L.Ghio. The funeral services will be held from the Sacred Heart Catholic church here tomorrow.

She was the daughter of the late George Powell; a pioneer stockman of this county, and was reared at Roe. She is survived by her husband, a St. Louis business man.

Gilbert, R. R., Hot Spirngs, Jan 9- R. R. (Ed) Gilbert, aged 67, died at Joseph's infirmary Wednesday night. Mrs. Gilbert was a member of a well known west Tennessee family and was born at the ancestral home. Lone Pine plantation, near Martin, in 1861, the son of Robert Reece and Elizabeth Boyd Gilbert. He came to Hot Springs in 1879 and spent his early life in this city, leaving here for several years, but returning about 15 years ago, making his home with his sister, the widow of the late Dr. P D McCulloch, 106 Ledwidge street. She is the only member of his immediate family surviving.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Nell; one son, William; and three brothers. He was a member of the Iowa Traveling Men's Association, also of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 60. The body is at the parlors of Healey & Roth awaiting completion of funeral arrangements. The Eagles will have charge of the services. Burial will be in this city.

Stanley, Funeral services for Mrs. Stanley Godby, aged 21, who was fatally wounded Monday afternoon at her home 512 West Thirty-first street, when a revolver was accidently discharged, will be held at 10 o'clock this morning at the residence. The Rev. J O Johnston will be in chrage and burial will be in the Oakland cemetery. She is survived by her husband, two stepsons, George L and Neville Godby; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G D Owens; two brothers, Tolley and Elbert Owens, and a sister, Miss Mary Owens, all of Little Rock.

Godman, C.C., Fort Smith, June 16 - Col. C.C. Godman, aged 66, pioneer railroad builder of western Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma, died in Kansas City today, according to word received here tonight.

He built the Arkansas Central, the Arkansas Western, the Darfanelle and Ola railroads in Arkansas; the Clint and Western, the Webbers Falls, Shawnee and Eastern railroads in Oklahoma, and was interested in a propsed railroad from Hugo to Atoka at the time of his death.

Goldsmith, Charles T., Van Buren, Jan 4 Charles T Goldsmith, aged 25 died last night in the marine hospital at Fort Stanton N M after a long illness. He had been bacteriologist at the hospital the last two years, following a course of instruction at Little Rock. Mr. Goldsmith was born and reared in Van Buren and was the son of the late D T Goldsmith, who was in the wholesale grocery business here. He was a graduate of the local high school and the Chicago Art Institute. He is survived by his stepmother, Mrs. Harry Ellis of Van Buren; a sister, Mrs. C F Maddy of Little Rock; two brothers, Orian T Goldsmith of Little Rock and Nat C Goldsmith of Ferndale, Mich, and an uncle, Tom Clark of Denison, Tex. The body will be brought here for burial Monday.

Greenlee, Will, Sheridan, July 11 - Will Greenlee, a farmer living about six miles east of Sheridan, in Washington township, died very suddenly yesterday afternoon. After he ate dinner he went to his field to hoe cotton. At dark he did not return to his home and his wife sent some small children down to the field to see about him. They found him dead not far from where he began work after dinner. The coroner's jury found that he came to his death by the rupture of blood vessels.

Funeral services for the two will be held tomorrow.

Griffith, Stephen M., Texarkana, Oct. 21 - Stephen M. Griffith, aged 76 years, a confederate veteran, died suddenly Friday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nannie Biddle. He apparently was in his usual good health until just before supper, when he told his daughter he must lie down, as he was very sick. Mrs Birle stepped into an adjoining room to turn down the covers on his bed, when she heard a noise, and hastening back to her father found that he had fallen to the floor. He never spoke and was dead before a physician could reach him.

He was with General Price in his Missouri campaign, but was later transferred to the Army of Northern Virginia. He was at Chancellorsville and various other battles. At Gettysburg he was badly wounded, but retured to his command after several weeks in a hospital and served through the war.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Lutheran church, Eighth and Rock, the Rev. A.H. Poppe officiating. Burial will be in Oakland.

Grover, J. L. W., Batesville, Jan 20 - J L Grover, aged 78, died yesterday at his home on Broad street as a result of stroke of paralysis. He had lived in Batesville 47 years. During most of this time he was a travelling salesman in Arkansas. He was a past grand eminent commanded of Knights Templar of Arkansas. He was a charter member of the St. Elmo Commandery No 13, Knights Templar, a member of Mount Zion Lodge No 10 F and A.M. and the First Baptist church. He is survived by three sons, J S Grover of St. Louis, R F Grover of New York city, and Dr. J L Grover of Taylor, Tes; one daughter, Mrs. W T Jernigan of Batesville.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the First Baptist church and burial will be at Oaklawn cemetery, with the Knights of the Commandery as escorts. Pallbearers will be J O Burnes, Marvin Andrews, George Rosenthal, Dene Wiles, O M Ward. Frank Grammer, Ben Jernigan and Ray Johnson.

His wife, Mrs. Martha Tennessee Gwyn, was buried last Tuesday and Mr. Gwyn was removed to the home of his son. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mary Knott of Paragould; four sons, Dick and John Gwyn of Route six, and Allen and Robert Gwyn, both of Blytheville.
