DEACON PERRY DODSON, JR.

Deacon Perry Lee Dodson, Jr., 64, died Oct. 22, 2005.

He was vice chairman of St. John Baptist Deacon Board, one of the original members of the Zion 5 Jr. Gospel Singers, vice president of St. John Baptist Choir and was a veteran of the Army.

His parents, Perry Lee Dodson, Sr. and Annie Elizabeth Waller Dodson and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Estella Dodson; daughter, Bonita Walter and husband Anthony of Little Rock; son, Rev. Brian Dodson and wife Jackie of DeValls Bluff; brothers, Major Dodson of California and Robert Dodson and wife Aretha of Lonoke; one sister, Laura Spencer and husband Eddie of Lonoke; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Gateway Fellowship Church.

Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Garden.

JOSEPH CHAMBLEE

Joseph D. Chamblee, 69, of Ward, died Oct. 21, 2005.

He was born in Romance, and was a retired meat cutter.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his son, Mark Allen Chamblee of Ward; two daughters, Melinda Ryan and husband Charles of Batesville and April Gammel and husband David of Lonoke; two grandchildren, Amanda Armstong and Cliff Ryan; one great-grandchild, Camden Ryan; two brothers, Dennis Wondel Chamblee and Joe Chamblee; and two sisters, Emma Madding of Forest City and Laura Eubanks of Morrilton.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Apple Hill cemetery.

JOHN PARR SR.

John Robert Parr Sr., 70, of Lonoke died Oct. 24, 2005.

He was retired from the city of Lonoke.

He is survived by one son, Harold Parr and wife Joanna of Ward; one daughter, Tammy Mackey and husband Dale of Lonoke; seven grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held today at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe, with burial in Monk cemetery.

DORA HAYNES

Dora E. Riggs Haynes, 92, of Austin died Oct. 21, 2005.

She was retired from MacMillan-Bloedel and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo M. Haynes.

She is survived by one son, Joe W. Haynes of Plano, Texas; two daughters, Rosemary Sutton of Saratoga and Martha Martin of Austin; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Monday at Oak Grove cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church for the Lottie Moon Foreign Mission Offering, 163 Mt. Carmel Road, Cabot, Ark., 72023.

LULA MCCLURE

Lula McClure, 68, of Jacksonville, passed away Oct. 23, 2005.

Born Feb. 24, 1937, in Lake City and she was the daughter of Homer and Sarah Smallman Seay.

She was a member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

McClure is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ken; two sons, John McClure and Ray McClure, all of Jacksonville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Arrangements by Griffin Leggett Rest Hills in North Little Rock.

SANDRIA GOWEN

Infant Sandria Marie Gowen of Ward died Oct. 15, 2005 in Searcy.

She is survived by her parents Michael Gene and Kathy Jean (Razer) Gowen; maternal grandparents, Bruce and Ann Razer of Cabot; and paternal grandmother, Patricia White of Cabot.

Graveside services were held Thursday at Oakland cemetery.

Arrangements by Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home.

RICHARD LACROIX

Richard Carl LaCroix, Sr. 75 of Lonoke, formerly of Fairfield, Calif., passed away Oct. 21, 2005 in Jacksonville.

He was born April 2, 1930, in Georgiaville, R.I., to the late Richard C. LaCroix and Marion Morvan LaCroix.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Edith Pate LaCroix in 1997.

Survivors include one daughter: Cynthia Hawk of Cabot; one son Richard Carl LaCroix, Jr. of River Bank, Calif.; two grandchildren: April Renee Boyd and Adam Russell Shaw; four great-grandchildren: Tawnie Rae Boyd and Amber Jean Boyd, Thomas Adam Shaw and Samantha Kristine Shaw all of Cabot; two sisters and several other family members of Rhode Island.

Private family services are arranged by Thomas Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Richard's name be made to the Lonoke County CASA program at the Lonoke County Court House, 201 Court St., Lonoke, Arkansas 72086.

CARLIS D. HATFIELD, JR.

Carlis D. Hatfield, Jr., of Ward went home on Oct. 7, 2005 to be with his mother and father, and two sisters.

He was a retired Air Force master sergeant, and also retired from Remington Arms at the age of 55.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mabel Hatfield; one daughter, Paula Jean Hatfield Peppers and husband Charles; two sons, Carl David Hatfield and wife Wanda Joyce, and Max Hatfield and wife Connie; six grandchildren, Kelly Michelle Passen, Stephen Eric Smith, Jessica Nicole Graves and husband Charlie, Becca Jean Peppers, Amanda Leigh Wood and Jeffery David Wood; six great-grandchildren, Jordan Blake Passen, Cody Spencer Passen, Skylar McCala Passen and Baliegh McKenzie Passen, Brennen Cade Smith and Summerlyn Skye Graves; and one sister, Jean Miller of West Palm Springs, Florida.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

ROSEMMA HEDRICK

Rosemma Morris Hedrick, 84, of Carlisle died Oct. 8, 2005.

She was the widow of Dean Hedrick and a member of Palm Street Church of Christ, Lonoke.

Survivors include one son, Ray and wife Mary of White Bluff, Tenn.; her daughter, Mary Dulaney and husband Dewayne of Carlisle; two sisters, Cora Madar, Pine Bluff and Florence Losak, Searcy; and a brother, Ruben Morris of Lonoke.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Palm Street Church of Christ, with Interment in Carlisle cemetery.

ILA MALONE

Ila Mae Malone, 81, of Little Rock, died Oct. 10, 2005.

She is survived by one son, David Malone and wife Deborah of Little Rock; a grandson, Michael and wife, Allyson Malone of Arlington, Va.; two great-grandchildren, Olivia-Lin Malone and Mia Rose Malone; and one sister, Vernie Gray of Jacksonville.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17 at Old Austin cemetery, by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Arkansas, 10411 W. Markham, Ste. 130, Little Rock, Ark. 72205-1409 or Pulaski Heights Methodist Church, 4823 Woodlawn Ave., Little Rock, Ark. 72205-3755.

Gary Boyles

Gary L. Boyles, 55, of Lonoke, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 1, 2006 after a long battle with cancer.

He was born March 23, 1951 in Little Rock.

Gary was a dedicated employee of Remington Arms, Inc., in Lonoke where he worked for 34 years making his way up to shift supervisor.

He was a proud graduate of Lonoke High School and a dedicated Jackrabbit.

He played on the 1969 state champion teams in baseball and basketball and was captain of the undefeated Jackrabbit football team.

Gary also ran track, played in the band and was president of his class.

Gary would say, 'The way of a leader is long and hard.'

Gary attended Arkansas Tech where he played football before starting his career at Remington Arms Inc.

Gary was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 51 in Lonoke and Lonoke First United Methodist Church.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to have time with his friends.

Most of all Gary was a devoted husband, a loving father and proud son.

Gary was a team player and was loved by all.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jimmie Cheek Boyles; his daughter, Tammy Rowe of Sherwood; one son Matt Boyles and daughter-in-law Janette, and a grandson to be of Lonoke; his parents, Pete W. and Regina Boyles of Lonoke; brothers, Harrell (Renee) Boyles of Bryant and Brad (Debbie) Boyles of Arlington, Texas; sisters, Tanya (Ted) Hensley and Tina Boyles of Lonoke and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lonoke First United Methodist Church with arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.

Burial will follow at Concord cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lonoke First United Methodist Church.
