Andrew Parker

Andrew Martin Parker, 45, departed this world on Dec. 14, 2006, to join our Lord in heaven.

Andrew was born Sept. 10, 1961 at Great Falls, Montana.

He resided in Jacksonville since 1975.

He was a Christian and a member of Hope Lutheran Church.

Andrew was a 1980 honor graduate of Jacksonville High School.

He received an associate degree in business and management at Arkansas State University at Beebe, and continued his education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Being the gentle, caring soul that he was, he donated funds to many wildlife and animal-welfare organizations, and children's charities.

Andrew is survived by his father, Davis Parker of Gillett; his mother, Erika Parker of Jacksonville; two brothers, David and Walter Parker of Jacksonville; a sister, Sonya and husband Jim Dunn and their chidren, Connor and Rebecca of Alpharetta, Georgia.

Andrew was dearly loved by his family.

The family would like to thank Andrew's doctors at UAMS, Dr. Adada and Dr. Hutchins and his nurses at Arkansas Hospice for their care.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 19 at Hope Lutheran Church, 1904 McArthur Dr., Jacksonville, with the Rev. Kevin Conger officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.

Teresa Simpson

Teresa Gail Simpson, 40, of Jacksonville passed away Dec. 8, 2006, in Jacksonville.

She was born Dec 17, 1965 to the late Charles L. Sr. and Reva Cosby Simpson in Virginia.

She is survived by Danny Lacy; three sons, Timothy, Danny and John Simpson; one daughter, Crystal Simpson, as well as a brother, Charles L. Simpson.

Private service will be at a later date.

Madison and Landon Howard

Newborn twins Madison Faye and Landon Michael Howard of Beebe died Dec. 9, 2006.

They are survived by their parents, Shannon and Christie Howard of Beebe; grandparents, Leanna and Michael Howard of Cabot, Lisa Johnson of Terrell, Texas, John and Eva Fisher of Austin; great-grandparents, Bessie Burnett, Barbara and Dick Johnson, Val and Galen Poe.

They were preceded in death by their grandfather, Charles Eugene Kinney.

Graveside service was Dec. 15 at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Beebe.

ROBERT REYNOLDS

Robert Ralph Reynolds, 85, of Beebe passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006.

He was born January 4, 1921, in Vincennes, Ind., to William and Viola Reynolds.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge 145, both at Beebe.

He served his country with the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Second World War.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jewel Black Reynolds; two children, William Robert Reynolds of Beebe and Judith Lynn McCann of Springdale; a brother, Clarence Ray Reynolds of Vincennes, Ind.; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Westbrook Funeral Home with burial in Lebanon cemetery at McRae.

HAROLD HICKS

Harold L. Hicks, 73, of Jacksonville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, in North Little Rock.

He was born on Sept. 13, 1932, in Dillard, Okla., to the late William L. and Vera M. Hart Hicks.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Hicks, and a brother, Wayne Hicks.

He is survived by his wife, Alma Joyce Rockey Hicks of Jacksonville; children, Charles Hicks and his wife, Rhonda, of Peron and Debbie Haulton of Harrison; daughter-in-law, Vanessa Hicks of Jacksonville; sisters, Elwanna Hudson and her husband, Ernest, of Brownfield, Texas, Maudine Collier and her husband, Royce, of Huntsville, and Linda Holloway and her husband, Kenneth, of Kingston; a sister-in-law, Shirley Hicks of Huntsville; his grandchildren, Christopher Hicks and his wife, Tonya, of Fayetteville, Kim Trublood and her husband, John, of Harrison, Robert Haulton of St. Louis, Mo., Jeremy Hicks of Conway, and Lesley Hicks of Jacksonville, as well as two great-grandchildren, Silas Hicks and Tabor Trublood.

A graveside service was held Aug. 19 in Walnut Bottoms cemetery in Peron by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.

VERLA MIESSNER

Verla A. Miessner went to be with the Lord and Savior on Aug. 18, 2006.

She was born in Oplin, Texas, to the late Preston and Beulah Moore.

She spent her early years of life in Abilene, Texas, and later moved to Fort Worth, where she met the love of her life of 42 years, Hillis J. Miessner.

They were married on January 16, 1954 and began their life together in Fort Worth, Texas and later moved to Germany in 1974.

After spending five years in Germany, Hillis, Verla, and four of their children moved to Cabot, where they settled down to retire.

She was preceded in death by their first child, Margaret; her father, Preston Moore, and mother, Beulah Moore.

A loving wife, mother, friend and Oma, she is survived by her husband, Hillis Miessner; son Mark Miessner and wife, Sheryl; grandson Matthew; granddaughter Heather; son, Allen Miessner and granddaughter Laura, son Gary Miessner and wife, Terri, all of Cabot; daughter Gail Schwanke and husband, Keith Schwanke grandsons Joshua and Andrew of Junction City, Kan.; a sister, three brothers and many special nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Cabot.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church of Cabot or Baptist Hospice of Arkansas.

The family would like to thank family, friends and co-workers who lifted them up in prayers, and Baptist Hospice for the faith, care, and love shown during this difficult time.

Clarence Larkan

Clarence Lee Larkan, 50, left this earth Oct. 24, 2006.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Moody Larkan; three children, Kevin Larkan, Chrystal Siler and Amanda McConaha, all of Beebe; parents, Clarence W. and Ella May Larkan of Lonoke; one brother, Ricky Larkan of North Little Rock; two sisters, Anita Schenebeck of Lonoke and Shirley Sanders of Sherwood; four grandchildren, Justin, Madison, Cody and Garret and many relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Oct. 27 at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel in Lonoke.

Bernice Morris

Bernice Pearl Morris, 87, passed away Oct. 27, 2006.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and loved to fish, cook, can and loved her dog 'Little Cody'.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Terry Armstrong of Lonoke; one daughter, Mary Dormmey of Benton; two brothers, Joe Highland of Cabot and Lynn Highland of North Little Rock; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30 at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel in Lonoke with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

SAM MAHMOUD

Sam Mahmoud, 13, of Beebe passed away Oct. 23, 2005.

He was an eighth-grade student at Beebe Junior High.

He is survived by his parents, Sam and Aida Mahmoud of Beebe; three brothers, Adel of Beebe, Zack and Aaron of Attalla, Ala.; and one sister, Anna Mills of Jacksonville.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, with burial in Forest Lawn cemetery in Pine Bluff.

GIP JERRY WELLS

Gip Jerry Wells, 27, of North Little Rock, died Oct. 24, 2005.

Survivors include children, Dakota, Dalton and Aspen Wells of Texas, and Saera Cox of Little Rock; parents, Linda and Jerry Wells of North Little Rock; brother, Glenn Seyller, sister, Missy Moss both of Little Rock.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Wattensaw cemetery, Lonoke.

EDWARD PETERSON

Edward A. Peterson, 67, of north Las Vegas, Nev., died Oct. 21, 2005.

He was retired from the Air Force, having served in the Marines, Navy and Army Corp. of Engineers.

He was a veteran of the Korean conflict. Peterson was a Christian.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 35 years, Patricia Peterson and is survived by one son, Christopher P. Alveti of Clarksville, Tenn.; one daughter, Linda Alveti-Sarota of Riverside, Calif.; two grandchildren, Chad Alveti and Crystal Alveti, both of Beebe; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, with burial in Arkansas State Veteran's cemetery.

BRENDA REED

Brenda Kay Reed, 41, of Austin, passed away Oct. 23, 2005. She was born Feb. 26, 1964, in Mockley, Fla., to Owen and Mary Davis.

She was preceded in death by her father Owen Davis and a brother.

Survivors include her husband, Frankie Reed; two sons, Ronnie and Cody Reed all of the home; mother, Mary Davis of Ward; and three sisters, Pat Boone of Ward, Helen Dover and Billie Noey both of North Little Rock.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Campground Union Church in Cabot with Bro. Ron Cody officiating.
