Joe Bechel
Joe Bechel, 77, died July 6, 2007.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathryn Bechel; son, Robert Bechel; daughters, Debbie and husband Banks Breashears, Cindy and husband Corey Burns and Beverly and husband Chuck Overturf, all of Lonoke; grandchildren, Gina and husband Mark Clark, Michele and husband Casey Findley, Douglas and Tyler Breashears, Sterling, Emily and Caroline Burns, Blake and Madison Overturf; two great-grandchildren, Drake and Brilynn Findley; brothers, Frankie and wife Brenda Bechel of Hernando, Miss., Charlie and wife Lora Jean Bechel of Jones Mill, Jerry and wife Nancy Bechel of Germantown, Tenn.; and a sister, Betty Sue and husband Billy Mauppins of Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Maggie Bechel and brothers, Ray and James Bechel.
Funeral services were July 9 at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.
Betty Clement
Betty Jo Brumett Clement, 76, died July 6, 2007 at Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Little Rock.
She was born Feb. 25, 1931 to Archibald and Hazel Brumett at Lonoke.
She graduated from Lonoke High School in 1948 as valedictorian of her class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Clement, of the Furlow Community near Lonoke.
She is survived by a son, Skipper Clement of Furlow; a daughter, Kathi Howard of North Little Rock; son, Roger Clement and wife Libby of Little Rock; brother, Donald Brumett of Lonoke; and seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were July 9 at Concord United Methodist Church, with burial in Concord cemetery.
Arrangements were by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice in her honor.
Artle Crocker
Artle Brady Crocker, 100, passed away July 25, 2007, just two weeks shy of her 101st birthday.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three daughters and one grandson.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Dennis and and his wife Carol Armstrong, Marva and and her husband Paul Verkler and Debbie Cooper; five great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
She will be missed by her loving family and a host of friends.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home.
Mary Roetzel
Mary Lou Roetzel, 79, of Lonoke, formerly of Shannon Hills, passed away July 26, 2007.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Roetzel; two sons, Vic Ashcraft of Kansas City, Mo., and Tom Ashcraft of Sims; one daughter, Susan Davenport of Lonoke; two step-sons, Bobby Roetzel of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Steve Roetzel of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a host of friends and family.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 28 at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.
Graveside will follow at Pine Crest cemetery in Alexander at 1 p.m.
Velma Cummings
Velma Lee Cummings, 84, of McRae passed away July 26, 2007.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd R. Cummings; her parents, Floyd and Trema Cook; two brothers, J. E. and Ralph Cook of McRae.
She is survived by her daughter, Annette Lockwood of West Monroe, La.; son, Wayne Cummings of McRae; one granddaughter, Monica Hemphill and husband Chris of Monroe, La.; two great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Tyler Hemphill of Monroe; two brothers, Carroll Dean Cook and wife Eldean and Homer Cook and wife Gene; one sister, Nellie Ruth Cook; and one sister-in-law, Virginia Cook, all of McRae, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by her family and a host of friends.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe with burial in Lebanon cemetery.
Turner Mitchell
Turner Mitchell, 93, of Carlisle went to be with the Lord July 24, 2007.
He was born Dec. 5, 1913, at Wattensaw to Tom and Pearl Hensley Mitchell.
He was retired from Carlisle Implement Co. and was a member of Landmark Baptist Church where he served as deacon for many years.
He was preceded in death by a son, James 'Jimmy' Mitchell and his parents; four brothers, Lloyd, Cecil, Elmer, Clyde; and a sister, Thelma.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Blanche Mitchell; five sons, William Mitchell and wife Susie of Cabot, Vernon Mitchell and wife Linda of Carlisle, Miles Mitchell and wife Carol of Nashville, Ronald Mitchell and wife Lori of Mablevale, Jerald Mitchell and wife Pam of Carlisle; two daughters, Carla Barnwell and husband Charles of Beebe, Clara Mae Harlan and husband Henry of North Little Rock; 11 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Johnson of Odessa, Texas; and numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends.
The family would like to thank Arkansas Hospice staff and staff at Chambers Nursing Home in Carlisle for all their care and services.
Funeral services were July 27 at Landmark Baptist Church in Carlisle with burial in Carlisle cemetery.
Arrangements were by Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe.

Neleta Balding
Neleta 'Rose' Balding, 65, went to be with the Lord July 24, 2007.
She was a daughter of Harvey Thomas and Mary Poe, born in Roe on Oct. 10, 1941.
She married
Forest Bedford Balding Jr. (1935-2005) and together they raised three sons, T.H. Balding (1961-1993), Forest Bedford Balding III, and Harvey Atwood Balding.
Rose loved her family and friends and she lived her life according to the Gospel.
She was a firm believer that the Lord Jesus was her Savior.
Rose will be sorely missed by all of her friends and family.
She is survived by her two sons, Forest and wife Jeannie and Harvey and wife Cecile, and her three wonderful grandchildren, Krystal, Nathan, and Forrest.
She is also survived by three sisters, Mary Huges, Dorothy White, and Alice Periece.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe with burial to follow at Sylvania cemetery, Ward.
David Hagar
David James Hagar, 50, of Beebe died July 24, 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Tina; three children, Elizabeth, Rachel and Derek, all of Beebe; his mother, Elnora Hagar of McRae; two sisters, Verna Holder of Greenbriar and Mary Maslow of Fort Worth, Texas, and three grandchildren, Malakai, Mason and Marian Shaw.
Memorial service was held July 27 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe.
Lucile Price
Lucile Price, 93, of London, died August 16, 2007 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 22, 1913, at London to William Henry and Mina Victoria Hon Becker.
She was a member of West Side Church of Christ.
For the past two years Lucile had lived in Stella Manor Nursing Center.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Burris Price; two brothers, Henry Becker and Dwain Price; a sister, Nadine Dale; and a grandson, Jim Price.
Survivors include two sons, Darwin and wife Glennette Price of London, and Larry Gwyn Price and wife Nancy of Jacksonville; a daughter, Laura and husband Jerry Smith of Monticello; a brother, Joe and wife Ruth Ellen Becker of Russellville.
Also surviving her are four grandsons, Randy and wife Olga Price of Kokomo, In., Tad and wife Brenda Price of Jacksonville, Jerry and wife Stephanie Price of Cabot, and Dr. J. Scott Smith and wife Celena of Searcy; three granddaughters, Joni and husband Mike Kozak of London, Marilee Rodefer of Jacksonville, and Tracy and husband David Roberts of Southlake, Texas; six great-grandsons, David Price of Kokomo, Ind., Trent Roberts, Turner Roberts, Connor Whitted of London, Trey Price of Jacksonville, and Jackson Price of Cabot; seven great-granddaughters, Kaylan Whitted, Lisa Goodman, Mikki Rodefer, Tori Roberts, Sydney Smith, Gentry Smith, and Jaclyn Price; and three great-great-grandchildren, Bailey Jackson, Wyatt Jackson, and Tristen Seiter.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 18 at Shinn Chapel with Mr. Dan Lightfoot and Mr. Bruce Grice officiating.
Burial will be in Price cemetery near London.

Billy Floyd
Billy Roy Floyd, 68, of Searcy passed away at White County Medical Center Aug. 10, 2007.
He was born May 10, 1939.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy 'Bud' and Estelle Floyd.
At 18 years of age, he married
his high school sweetheart, Sandra Sue Harrison.
Together for 48 years, Billy and Sandra had three children, Tina, Ricky and Randy.
Billy's life example of stability led each of his kids to currently be married
for 25 years (Tina to Robert Hudgins), 23 years (Ricky to Kim Stark), and 18 years (Randy to Lu Anne Graves).
Each of these couples have three children, giving Billy nine grandchildren; Christina Hudgins, Scott Hudgins, Michael Hudgins, Audra Floyd, Austin Floyd, Abby Floyd, Madeline Floyd, Jacob Floyd and Joshua Floyd.
He attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.
Starting out early as a route driver for Coca-Cola Bottling Company, he progressed to various senior management positions concluding a 35-year career with Coca-Cola.
In 1970, Billy completed his executive management certification at Harvard Business School.
Billy and Sandra left Searcy in 1986 with Coca-Cola, living in Little Rock then Shreveport, La., before returning to Searcy in 1996.
Not a person for retirement, Billy worked for Yarnell's Ice Cream for more than five years as a consultant.
He concluded his career owning and operating a successful motorsport business, Searcy Yamaha Suzuki Kawasaki Polaris Sales for over seven years.
He was also on various bank boards with First Community Bank.
Billy was successful in the various aspects he pursued and will be remembered by the many employees that worked for him as a great leader who cared about them and their families' well being.
During his life he also was a Sunday school teacher and an ordained deacon of the Baptist faith.
Billy was president of several groups, including Sidney Deener PTA, Jaycees, Kiwanis Club, Whitewood Shrine Club and the chamber of commerce.
In 1978 he was named citizen of the year.
He was involved with 4-H clubs because he showed cattle as a young 4-H member.
Funeral service was Aug. 13 at First Baptist Church in Searcy with Brother David Crouch and Dr. Dennis Bennett officiating.
Entombment will be at the mausoleum at the Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
