LaVerne Potts
LaVerne Pryor Potts, 73, of Cabot died Saturday. She was retired from First Tennessee Bank and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
She was an avid gardener and lover of flowers. LaVerne is survived by her husband, James E. Potts; one daughter, Deborah Faye Potts Gubala and son-in-law Paul Gubala of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Alton Pryor of Sherwood; two sisters, Sandra Webber of Des Arc and Marcella Tippit of Cabot; four grandchildren, Thomas Stanley Davis, III, Crystal Kimberly Davis, Nicole Banks and James Paul Potts; and two great-grandchildren, James Maverick Banks and Hunter Brayden Smith. She was preceded in death by her son, James Michael Potts.
Funeral services were held Monday at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Hebron cemetery.

Joyce Minton
Joyce Irene Minton, 65, of Jacksonville, passed away June 19.
She was a member of Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church in Vine Grove, Ken. and worked for Pathfinder for 15 years.
She was a good wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Robert Minton; son, Robert Minton Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Tampa, Fla.; daughter Tammy Minton of Jacksonville; two brothers, James V. Bird of Sacramento, Calif., Richard Bird of Indianapolis; sister Louise Bell of Clarksville, Ind.; two grandchildren, Kimberly Minton and Jonathan Minton.
Funeral services will be Wednesday in Brownsville, Ken. Burial will be at Sweeden Baptist Church cemetery in Sweeden, Ken.
Arrangements in Arkansas were by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.

Richard Payne
Richard Gary Payne, 57, passed away June 18, 2004.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Payne and Goldie Duree.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Payne; son, Richard II and wife Valarie Payne of Cabot; daughter, Richelle and husband Derek Rice of Cabot; sisters, Barbara Brady and Louise Whittington, both of Missouri; brothers; Donald Spitzmiller of St. Louis, Mo.; William Payne, of Mo.; Robert Payne of Mo.; grandchildren; Joseph Payne, Austin Payne, Nathan Rice, Madison Rice and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 23 at McArthur Assembly of God Church in Jacksonville.
Interment will be at Pleasant Hill cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are by Cabot Funeral Home, 700 N. Second St.

William Tilghman
William "Bill" Tilghman, 80, was born Oct. 20, 1924, in Hamilton. He was married to Victoria Crouch for 54 years.
He is survived by three children, Kenneth Tilghman of Clarksville, Tenn., Robert Tilghman of Azle, Texas, and Diane Owens of Lonoke, one sister, Jennie Crouch, of Winn, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
His son Gerald Tilghman preceded him in death. Mr. Tilghman served in the Army from Dec 11, 1941 until Oct 21, 1945.
He then enlisted in the Air Force May 28, 1948, retired May 1, 1964. He retired as a staff Sgt. Advanced to Tech Sgt. On March 13, 1974.
He was awarded the citation and commendation medal for meritorious service while assigned as a B-58 crew chief, 43rd Organizational Maintenance Squadron, 43rd Bombardment wing at Carswell Air Force Base, Fort Worth, Texas, from Nov 15, 1959 until March 31, 1964. Mr. Tilghman was a resident of Lonoke for 29 years and an active member of American Legion Post 200.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel in Lonoke, with Interment at Brownsville cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Milton Clare
Milton T. Clare, 89, of Beebe died June 21.
He was retired from Arkansas Foundry where he worked as a welder.
He is survived by his wife, Effie Mae Clare; one daughter, Madean and husband Scott Johnson of Beebe; one grandchild, Diane and husband Robbie Collie of Beebe; two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Hunter Collie of Beebe, one soon to be great-great grandchild due in September; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with burial in Stoney Point cemetery.

CONNIE BROWN
Connie Sue Brown, 45, of Cabot, died Aug. 2, 2004.
She is survived by her husband Charles "Kenny" Brown; sons, Shane Boyer of Jacksonville, and Joshua Brown of Cabot; daughter, Shannon Boyer of Springfield, Mo.; sister, Cathy Schnell of Booneville, Mo.; brother, Michael LeGrant of Booneville, Mo.; grandchildren, Morgan Murray, Adison Boyer and Jordan Boyer.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cabot Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Cabot Funeral Home with Mark Quick officiating.
Funeral arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home, 700 N. Second St.

ELIHU BEVILL
SMSgt. Elihu 'Pappy' Bevill, Ret., United States Air Force, 86, of Jacksonville, passed away July 28.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maureen; three sons, Michael Bevill of Jacksonville, Patrick Bevill and wife Terrie of Houston and Kenneth Bevill of East Camden; two daughters, Kathy Berkenstock and husband Geri of Elizabethtown, Ind., and Susan Burton and husband Jap of Conway; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Monday at Huson Funeral Home Chapel, 7700 Hwy. 107 in Sherwood with chaplain Ted Grove officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care, 1501 N. University Avenue, Suite 500, Little Rock, AR 72207.

ERMA FRECK
Erma Lillian Freck, 95, of Cabot, died Aug. 2.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Freck; parents, William Skinkle and Jenny Booth; two sisters, one brother, and two great-grandsons.
She is survived by her three sons, Irving Freck of Cabot and Robert Freck and Earl Freck, both of Jackson, Miss.; three daughters, Marilyn Booth of Cabot, June Thomas of Michigan Center, Miss., and Barbara Jennkins of Leslie, Miss.; a sister, Letha Linburg of Jackson, Miss., and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Cabot Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Cabot Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be held at Hillcrest cemetery in Jackson, Miss.
Funeral arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home, 700 N. Second St.

ELLA LACKIE
Ella Scott Lackie, 90, formerly of Lonoke, passed away July 31. She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church in Bradford.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Lackie of North Little Rock and Curtis Lackie of Jefferson City, Mo.; a daughter, Floretta Phillips of Bradford; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday at Boyd Chapel with Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.

Ruby Richardson
Ruby Imogene Richardson, 74 of Cabot passed away Sept. 27. She was born March 24, 1930 to the late Andrew Anderson Honey and Florence Cornelius Gray Honey. She was a homemaker. Her parents and her husband, Franklin Thomas Hayes, preceded her in death.
She is survived by five sons - James Mullins and wife Vickie of Gentry, Tony Mullins and wife Debbie, Charles Mullins and wife Donna, Thomas Mullins, all of Beebe, Donald Mullins of Cabot; two daughters - Lois Foster and husband James of Ward, Kathy Ballard and husband Ronny of Cabot; one brother - Dewey Honey of Jonesboro; two sisters, Hazel Farmer of Rogers and Leona Barber of Florida; 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Cabot Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Old Austin cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jessie Reynolds, Mark Lovett, Allen Burr, Michael Apple, Jamie Apple and Donny Ballard. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Cabot Funeral Home.
Arrangements are by Cabot Funeral Home.

Hazel Jensen
Hazel Juanita Jensen, 78, of Scott passed away Sept. 27. She was born Nov. 25, 1925, at Hummnoke to Warren Henry and Tillie Belle Parker Henry. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Leroy Chris Jensen.
She is survived by two sons - Chris Jensen and wife, Connie of Lonoke, Donnie Jensen and wife, Charlotte of Cabot; one daughter, Trudie Long of Toltec; one sister, Bessie Antonio of North Little Rock; one brother, Alfred Henry of Jacksonville; five grandchildren, Melissa James, Angee Kennedy, Carrie Norman, Paul Jensen and Amber Watson; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at Mt. Carmel cemetery with Reverend Matthew Watson officiating. Burial under direction of Cabot Funeral Home.

Corbin Taykowsik
Corbin James Taykowsik, 16, of Cabot passed away Sept. 26. Born to Terry and Jerri Baker Taykowsik on May 18, 1988, in Blytheville. Corbin attended North Pulaski High School were he was a freshman.
Survivors include his parents Terry and Jerri of Cabot, brother Justin, sister Tara of Cabot, grandparents Freddie and Emma Kinder of Malden, Mo.; Charles Launius of Irvin, Texas; and Geraldine Baker of Ellisnore, Mo.
Visitation was held Tuesday at Thomas Funeral Service in Cabot with additional visitation being held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Interment to follow at Standfield cemetery. Local arrangements are by Thomas Funeral Service.

Wayne Rupe
Wayne Ray Rupe, 77, passed away Sept. 25. He was a member, Deacon and Sunday School Teacher of Lonoke Baptist Church, a member of D.H. Reynolds Masonic Lodge #563, member of Arkansas Scimitar Shiners Club and a World War II Navy veteran. He was a County Agent with University of Arkansas Extension Service. He was past Director of Arkansas Agriculture Aviation Association.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Rupe, one daughter, Joy Lynn Bowen and her husband Bob of Augusta, two sons, Ronald Wayne Rupe and wife Gloria of Searcy and Bobby Keith Rupe and wife Kelly of Marion; grandchildren, Michael, Lora, Jennifer, Olivia, Michelle and Sarah and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Lonoke Baptist Church. Graveside services followed in Augusta Memorial Park.
Arrangements were by Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lonoke Baptist Church Building Fund.

Gregory Sturch
Gregory Paul Sturch, 44, of Ward passed away Sept. 23. He was born April 24, 1960 at Greenfield, Ind. He was a veteran actively serving in the Army National Guard and a member of American Bass Fishermanıs Club.
He is survived by his wife, Frankie Sturch of Ward; his mother, Ruby Sturch of Clinton; one son, Tyler Sturch and one daughter, Lacey Sturch both of North Little Rock; two sisters, Debra Baker and Beverly Sturch of Clinton; two brothers, Rickey Meyer of Clinton and Ross Sturch of Batesville; one granddaughter and a host of family and friends. Funeral services were Monday, in the Chapel of Cabot Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors at Roosevelt cemetery near Judsonia. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.
