MERLE ELLIOTT, 101

Merle Nixon Elliott, 101, of Jacksonville, passed away May 23, 2006 in Jacksonville.
She was born on Oct. 9, 1905, in Greenbrier to the late Ada M. and Pernecy 'Harvey' Nixon.
Also preceding her in death, her husband James Bryant Elliott; son, Royce Elliott; two sisters and four brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Joy Elliott of Jacksonville, two grandchildren, James P. Elliott and his wife Sandy, Anthony Elliott, daughter-in-law, Mary Nell Elliott all of Jacksonville; great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Philip Elliott both of Jacksonville.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family extends a special thank you to Odyssey Hospice, Dr. Mitzi Washington, Cindy Jeffers and Betty Jackson.
Funeral arrangements under the direction of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.

WILLIAM MCLEAN

William Vernon McLean, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed on to be with the Lord on July 5, 2006. He was preceeded in death by his parents and one son, Roland 'Buddy' McLean. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Ava McLean; one son, Randy and wife Pricilla McLean; four daughters, Peggy and husband Boyce Nichols, Laurie and husband Randy Phillips, Rhonda and husband Charles Farmer and Mary McLean; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke with Interment in Old Carlisle cemetery. Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home.

JIMMIE GLOVER

Jimmie Joe Glover, 70, died July 7, 2006. He was a member of Lonoke Baptist Church, was retired from the military, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a 25-year faithful employee and funeral director at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.
Survivors include his wife Martha Glover; children, Billie Dean and husband Bill Reed of Carlisle, Debbie Thomason of Louisiana, Rosemary and husband Teddy Hoskins of Kentucky, Pamela and husband Craig Blackard of Lonoke and Jimmy Ray 'Rowdy' and wife Beverly Glover of Kentucky; brothers and sisters, Shirley Lewis of East End, Charlotte Kinslow and Dixie Rye of Lonoke, Sonny Glover of Cherokee Village and Ray Glover of Carlisle; grandchildren, Brooke, Zack and Tyler Reed of Carlisle, Carmen Fletcher of Louisiana, Heather, Ryan and Kaci Hoskins, Megan and Paige Glover, all of Kentucky and Taylor and Peyton Blackard of Lonoke.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Marvin and Essie Glover and a sister Rosemary Glover. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Lonoke Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.

JEAN HAZEL

Jean R. Hazel, 73, of El Paso, was born Sept. 11, 1932, in El Paso to James 'Sam' and Bessie Riley; and died July 4, 2006. She was owner of Jean Hazel Tax Co., and was a member of Oak Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond G. Hazel, and her stepdaughter, Charlotte Rogers.
She is survived by one stepdaughter, Phyllis Bohannon of Florida; one stepson-in-law, Paul Rogers of El Paso; five brothers, James and wife Alice Riley of Ward, Tom, Sr. and wife Lela Riley, Jerry and wife Lula Riley, Doug and wife Kay Riley and Don and wife Arlena Riley, all of El Paso; four step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. Funeral will be services were held Friday at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Blasingame cemetery.

JEROLD MULLOY

Jerold Alan Mulloy, 62, of Jacksonville, died June 30, 2006. He was born July 23, 1943. He served as a captain in the Marines. He received the purple heart for injuries sustained in Vietnam and was a member of the Retired Military Association. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Wooten Mulloy of Jacksonville, daughters; Shannon Hickman and husband Michael of Ashland, Ore., and Shelly Mulloy of Jacksonville, his mother, Grace Mulloy of Yreka, Calif., brother, Larry Mulloy of Yreka, Calif., and grandchildren; Franklin LimeMa Mulloy and Kathy Mulloy. Private services will be set at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under direction of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.

HARLEY KEISTER SR., 97

Harley E. Keister, Sr., 97, of Jacksonville, died May 22, 2006 in Little Rock.
He was born Nov. 2, 1908, in Ohio to the late George and Elizabeth Pearl Bolick Keister.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marie Clair Keister, infant son, Harold, six brothers, and one sister.
Harley served in WW II in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Wildcat.
Survivors include his children: Cecil Keister of Jacksonville, Harley 'Sonny' Keister, Jr. of Jacksonville, Clarence Keister of Rogers, Hazel Wylie of Cabot, Patsy Hall of Jacksonville and Faye Little of North Little Rock, sister, Mary Davison of North Little Rock, brother, John Keister of Jacksonville, 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 10 a.m., today. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Arrangements by Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.

HELEN COCHRAN, 85

Helen Louise Parnell Cochran, 85, died Feb. 17, 2006. She was a member of Hamilton Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, John R. Cochran (Bob); one son, Butch Cochran (Theresa) of North Little Rock; two daughters, Roberta Daniels and Esther Matthews of Sherwood; six grandchildren, David, Donny and Billy Daniels of Sherwood, Christie Johnson of North Little Rock, Pamela Lott of Jacksonville and Matthew Cochran of Maumelle; seven great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; two sisters, Gracie Cochran and Carolyn Reaves of Carlisle; one brother, Roy Matlock of California and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents John Ed and Daisy Parnell.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Hamilton Baptist Church with Interment in Hamilton cemetery, arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
Memorials may be made to Hamilton Baptist Church or cemetery.

ELAINE ALLEN, 82

Elaine Leisle Allen, 82, of Jacksonville died March 31, 2006.
She was born Sept. 26, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to William P. and Edna L. Robinson Skogland. Allen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Jacksonville. She volunteered in the X-Ray department at Rebsamen Regional Medical Center and then was hired by that department.
As a young woman, she enjoyed fly fishing, snow skiing and learned how to fly an airplane and soloed.
In 1952, Allen was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis but still enjoyed occasional outings with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James G. Allen, Sr. and two grandsons, Marcus F. Allen and Matthew W. Allen.
She is survived by three sons, James G. Allen, Jr. of Jacksonville, C. Richard Allen and his wife Kimberly of Floyd, and Harold 'Bill' W. Allen and his wife Terry of Jacksonville, as well as one sister, Barbara Crawford and her husband Jim of Salt Lake City, Utah. Also surviving her are three granddaughters, Ashley Singleton, Lindsey Hendrick and Kristin Allen as well as four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Tyler, Nicholas and Hunter.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Jacksonville with Bishop Phillip Misseldine officiating.
Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis; 773 Third Ave., New York, N.Y., 10017.

IMOGENE WOOLEY, 91

Imogene Fortner Wooley, 91, of Jacksonville died April 1, 2006 at Sherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 31, 1915 in Little Rock to the late Hugh Pickney Fortner and Emma Freese Fortner.
She was a sweet, gentle woman who always saw the best in people. As a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, she lived her faith through service as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a member of the choir and Methodist Women.
She worked in the community as a sales clerk in Pace's Department Store, Alco, Magic Mart and as a greeter at Wal-Mart.
Many young servicemen would come to Wal-Mart to see her because she would make time to listen and made them feel a little less lonely a long way from home.
Imogene was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, H.P. 'Peanut' Wooley, a sister, Juanita and two infant children.
She is survived by six children, Hugene Wooley and his wife Doris, Bob Wooley and his wife Bonnie, Tanya Sorrels and her husband Keith, all of Jacksonville, Don Wooley and his wife Mary of Crown Point, Indiana, Carmelita Burks and her husband Don of North Little Rock, Juanita Ann Booth and her husband Don of Baytown, Texas.
She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Tuesday at First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville with Rev. Carol Goddard officiating. Burial was in Bayou Meto cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, 220 W. Main St., Jacksonville, Ark. 72076.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.

ANDY DEDMON, 57

Andy Dedmon, 57, of Beebe, died April 2, 2006.
He had worked for the city of Cabot for 24 years. Mr. Dedmon is survived by his wife, Darla Dedmon; son, Shane Dedmon of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Rachel Dedmon of Ward and Nichole Dedmon of Beebe; stepson, Tommy and wife Lisa Boyce of Beebe; two stepdaughters, Angela Lentz and Sandra and husband Jay Martin, all of Beebe; five grandchildren; one brother, Wendall Dedmon of Cabot; three sisters, Martha Osgood of Iowa, and Rhoda Burgess and Anna White, both of Cabot.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.
Funeral is at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Sumner cemetery.
Arrangements are by Westbrook Funeral Home.

SHIRLEY NOVAK, 52

Shirley Ann Novak, 52, of Austin passed away on March 30, 2006. She was born June 12, 1953 in Mannheim, Germany.
Survivors include her husband, Erick Novak of the home; a son, Richard Wayne Duvall of Austin, Texas; her parents, Billy and Michelene Wilcox of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Annie Marie Black and her husband Bill of Raymore, Mo.; one grandchild, Lauren Taylor Duvall of Dallas-Fort Worth.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Little Rock Air Force Base Chapel. Arrangements are by Thomas Funeral Service 713 S. Second St., Cabot.

FRANK SALAZAR, 17

Frank David Salazar, 17, of North Little Rock, passed away on April 3, 2006.
Survivors include his parents, Mark and Denise Salazar; brothers, Marcus and Brandon Salazar all of the home; aunts, uncles, cousins, and his special friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, from 11 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at McArthur Assembly of God Church in Jacksonville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sylvan Hills High School Band Program, 484 Bear Paw Drive, Sherwood, Ark., 72120.
Funeral service arrangements are by Thomas Funeral Service of Cabot.
