MOUNTAIN PINE - Helen Anderson, 83, of Mountain Pine, died Monday, Aug. 10, 2009.
The service will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Community Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Anderson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Charles Chapmond, Buddy Chapmond, Jeremy Anderson, Johnny Anderson, Jason Black and Greg Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers are Quapaw Nursing and Rehab Center staff and Clarence Hill.
Burial will be in New Mount Pleasant cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

NORMAN - The service for Ena Mae Hays Cowart, 80, of Norman, who died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, will be 10 a.m. today in Black Springs Baptist Church with Brothers Gary Sloan and Tommy Adams officiating.
Pallbearers will be Rickey Cowart, Sean Adams, David Allen, David Lybrand, Leon Cogburn, David Graves, Brian Rogers and Brendan Glasspool.

Dewey Alan Thurman
May 24, 1949 - August 7, 2009
Dewey Alan Thurman, age 60, of Hot Springs, died Friday, August 7, 2009 at a local hospital. He was born May 24, 1949 in Hot Springs. He retired from the Corps of Engineer after 28 years of service and was a veteran of the United States Army.
Alan was a hard working dedicated man who loved his family deeply through his actions and was loved by all his friends and family in return. He was a special son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great friend, who will be missed by many.
He was predeceased by his father, Dewey H. Thurman and his stepfather, Olin D. Stevens.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Gibson Thurman of Hot Springs Village; one son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Alan and Deidre Thurman of Plainview, Arkansas; one daughter, Staci Lea Thurman of Little Rock; mother, Dorothy E. Kelley Stevens of Hot Springs, three sisters, Sherry Ann Beavers and husband Lanny of Hot Spring Village, Judy Daniels and husband Herbie and Pam Echols; two brothers, David Thurman and Mike Thurman all of Hot Springs; two grandchildren, Adrianna Nicole Thurman and Christopher Alan Thurman II also of Plainview, Arkansas.
Funeral services with military honors will be Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Gross Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Taylor officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday, at funeral home.
Honorary Pallbearers will be, Danny Sherer, Donald McAfee, Terry Smith, Dale Leggett, Jack Johnson, Greg McDade and Richard Oliver.
Ryland Fletcher II
Ryland Fletcher II, 'Pops,' 65, of Hot Springs, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009.
Born Dec. 29, 1943, in California, he was a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam War veteran and retired truck driver.
Survivors include his mother, Marie St. Just; one daughter, Sara Lee Fletcher; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Ryland Fletcher III, Timmy and Mindy Fletcher, Lee and Stacey Fletcher and Christopher Fletcher; seven grandchildren; one sister, Susan Absalon; and one brother, Steve Fletcher.
The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Thaddeus H. Caraway VFW Post 2278.
Aline L. Burks
Aline L. Burks, of Hot Springs, was called to her eternal home on Thursday, July 30, 2009, at the age of 74.
She was born on May 17, 1935, at Bonnerdale, the daughter of Henry Shepherd and Naomi Sims Shepherd. On Oct. 25, 1952, she was married
to Benjamin Burks. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Everett, Clifford, Archie, Arlie and Jimmy Shepherd.
Aline was a member of Oma Community Church and a homemaker.
Her greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren. Aline loved to listen to them tell of activities they were involved in.

Sue Goodwin, 69, of Hot Springs, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009, in a Little Rock hospital.

ARKADELPHIA - Mary Lou Frances Jackson Bradshaw, 80, of Arkadelphia, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at home.
Born Jan. 15, 1929, to Romey L. and Janie Story Jackson, she was a graduate of Gurdon High School, worked for Levi Strauss & Co., owned and operated Bradshaw’s Grocery, Gum Springs, was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church and attended Richwoods Baptist Church. She was predeceased by two sisters, Gertrude Faber and Leo Williams, and her husband, Doyle Bradshaw.

BENTON - Kimberly LaVon Blaylock, 50, of Benton, died Monday, July 20, 2009.
Born Oct. 17, 1958, in Hot Springs, she was a nurse and member of North Fork Baptist Church, Paron. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Noah and Opal Williams and Clyde and Grace Ault.
Survivors include her husband, Carmon Blaylock, of Benton; two sons, Eric Blaylock, of Benton, and Patrick Blaylock, of Conway; one daughter, Holly Blaylock, of Conway; her parents, Robert and Yvonne Ault, of Paron; one brother, Marty Ault, of Morrilton; one sister, Stacey Ault Bean, of Paron.
