Cecil Eugene Baker, age 67 died on Jan. 31, 2009. He is survived by two sisters, Betty Hollis (Raymond) and Janice Hicks (Mike). Services were 10 a.m. Monday at Gospel Mission Church with burial at Sandhill cemetery by Garth Funeral Home.

Laney Neoma Wallace, 89, of Des Arc, died Monday, February 23, 2009. Survivors include two sons, Howard Wallace and wife, Gail, TA Wallace and wife, Wanda; two daughters, Wadena Ramsey and husband, Johnny, and Carolyn Schmidt and husband, Bob; one sister, Carrie Schoffner; one brother, Marion Duncan; one sister-in-law, Kathy Duncan; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service was 10 a.m., Thursday at Morris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Hazen cemetery by Garth Funeral Home of Des Arc.
Virginia L. McCann
Virginia L. McCann, 87, of Lonoke passed away February 24, 2009 at Golden Years Nursing Home. She was a member of New Testament Missionary Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star, Hazen Chapter. She was born to Robert and Jennie Bumpous. She was preceded in death by her husband J.D. “Jake” McCann, sisters Connie Lincomfelt and Murlene Campbell and brother Wallace Bumpous.
Survivors include one sister, Nina Hamlin of Kalamazoo, Michigan; one brother Robert Bumpous Jr. of Humphrey; two daughters, Carolyn Elcan of Lonoke, Patricia Greer of Weatherford, Texas; her son Robert McCann of Lonoke; six grandchildren, Jennifer Burns, Casey Stock, Michael Elcan, Sharon Greer, Melanie Lloyd and John Greer; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Funeral Services were held at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke on Friday, February 27 at 10 a.m. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Testament Baptist Church, Lonoke.
Opal Sarah Hundley Redditt
Opal Sarah Hundley Redditt of Little Rock, Ark., crossed over to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 24, 2009. She was 96 years old, and was a longtime member of Markham Street Baptist Church. She was the last of 13 siblings.
Mrs. Redditt was born in Bryant’s Cove, Ark., on July 26, 1912. She married
Nathan Redditt of Casa, Ark., September 15, 1930. They were married
for 60 years and remained newlyweds throughout their marriage.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Nathan; a daughter, Lula Redditt Hurley; and a grandson, Thomas Dygard. She is survived by her son, Nathaniel Watson Redditt of Little Rock and a daughter, Patricia Dygard of Evansville, Indiana. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jim Hurley and wife Nancy of Jacksonville; John Hurley of Sherwood, Joe Hurley and wife Sheila of Hazen, Jacqui Hurley of Sherwood, Nathan Redditt of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Chea Redditt of Claremore, Oklahoma, Nancy Stevens and husband Raaf of Evansville, Indiana and Amy Cullers and husband Sean of Maumelle. Mrs. Redditt has also been blessed with 17 great-grandchildren, as well as 10 great-great-grandchildren.
“Mams”, was a pillar of faith and strength, and it was truly an honor to be a part of her life. Although we will miss her, this is the beautiful ending to a beautiful life, and we all look forward to seeing her again.
Graveside service were held at 10 a.m., Friday, February 27, 2009 at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Arrangements by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501) 224-8300.

Marsha Ann York O'Connor, age 58 of Jacksonville died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born January 18, 1955 in Cottonwood, Idaho to Will and Mona Slaten York. On February 14, 1983 she married
Patrick O'Connor Sr. in Juarez, Mexico. Marsha was of the Baptist faith, she was saved in August of 1996 at Grace Baptist Church in Odessa, Texas. She never met a child she did not love or a child that did not love her, she will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Shannon Terrell Aaron on March 13, 1972.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick O'Connor Sr. of the home; children, Sarah (Christopher) Springs of Jacksonville, Brian (Neysa) O'Connor of Jacksonville, Patrick (Lori) O'Connor Jr. of Jackson, TN., Jeff Aaron of Dustin, OK., Mike Aaron of Louisiana, Alan (DeAnn) O'Connor of Albuquerque, NM.; parents, Will and Mona York of Lampasas, TX.; 15 grandchildren, Michael Dylan, Shannon Janelle, Alyssa Nicole, Cody William, Brian Patrick Jr., Sean Patrick, Megan Nicole, Jefferey Shane, Elli Kate, Marleigh Grace, Elyse Gray, Austin Tyler, Madison Paige, Nathan Scott, and Ava Presley; three sisters, Pam of San Marcos, TX., Judy Back of Waco, TX., Vicky Beattie of Stratford, TX.; six brothers, Guy York of Alaska, Scott York, John York and Mark York, all of Roanoke, VA., Doug York of Shreveport, LA., and Ted York of Dumas, Texas.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Bruce Douglass Tarkington
Bruce Douglass Tarkington, 88, of Cotton Plant died Thursday, February 26, 2009 at home. He was born June 19, 1920 in Des Arc. He was a retired farmer from Cotton Plant and owned and operated Tarkington Stables where he, his daughter and granddaughter showed horses during the late1960s and 1970s. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Cotton Plant.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. & Mrs. Ray Tarkington formerly of the Johnson Chapel Community near Des Arc. His wife Irmadean also preceded him in death along with four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Kellar of Des Arc, Brucene Jumper of Palestine; three granddaughters; Dawn Verkler, of Cabot, Brandi Davis of McCrory and Candi Smith of Little Rock and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday at First Baptist Church in Cotton Plant. Burial followed in Cotton Plant cemetery. Arrangements by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home in Brinkley.
In lieu of lowers, memorials may be given to First Baptist Church in Cotton Plant or the Cotton Plant cemetery.
Larry Lane Grisham
Larry Lane Grisham, 60, an Estimator for Triple H Electricat Sheridan, passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009 at his home in Lonoke. A native of Redfield, Ark., he was born on Jan. 26, 1949 at Des Arc at the home of his Aunt Sibyl and Uncle Henry Bell. He was the son of the late, W.C. and BillieJo Grisham. He served in the United States Army, where he was stationed both in the states and in Iran. Larry played basketball at White Hall High and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where he met his wife of 40 years. He loved hunting and fishing with his family and close friends.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Patsy) A. Grisham; two daughters, Lorie and husband, Steve Moore and their children, Lane and Emily; Michelle and husband, David Tilley and their daughters, Victoria and Rheegan; two brothers, Tim Grisham and Tony Grisham and their families all of Lonoke; uncle, Harold Grisham of El Paso; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Edgewood Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home of North Little Rock.
Memorials may be made in his honor to the American Heart Association.

Vernice Townley, 88, of North Little Rock was born November 20th, 1921 in Scotland, Arkansas and passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, August 20th, 2010. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a long time member of Baring Cross Baptist Church in North Little Rock and was employed at JC Penney for 52 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Jo Ann Russell and her Husband Joel Sanders of North Little Rock, a sister Edith Gilpatrick of Leachville, Arkansas a brother Carl Skidmore of De Queen, Arkansas, two grand children Shannon Lensing and her husband Chris of Safety Harbor, Florida and Steve Cave and his wife Cathie of San Francisco, California and one great grandson Alex Cave of Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her first husband William Russell and her second husband Merle Townley, three brothers Sterling, Joe and Jack and one sister Audrey.
Funeral services will be held on Monday August 23rd, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, 501.835.3515 with visitation on Sunday August 22nd, 2010 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. Burial will follow at Edgewood Memorial Park in North Little Rock.

Susie Pauline Davis, 86, of North Little Rock, born July 8th, 1924, at DeValls Bluff, Arkansas to Fred and Martha Casteel, passed away on September 7th, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Doyn Davis; two brothers, Charlie and Henry; two sisters, Helen and Ruby; and a great-grandson, Cory McConnell.
She has been a faithful member of the First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock for forty-eight years. Her church and her family were her life. She loved to cook for all of her family, to have them all at her home, and to hear the sound of their laughter and having fun.
She is survived by: three daughters, Elouise Comer and her husband Billy Ray, Brenda Shelby and her husband Jim, Patricia Haney and her husband Stephen; two sons, Charles Davis and his wife Janet, David Davis and his wife Carolyn; sixteen grandchildren: Diane, Charlene, Rachel, Justin, Donna, Becky, Geniece, Dave, Davina, Craig, Julie, Brent, Jessica, Candy, Steve and Brittany; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of nephews and nieces whom she cherished very closely.
Visitation will be Friday September 10th, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock, 1401 Calvary Road with a funeral service to follow on Saturday September 11th, 2010 at the Church, services will be officiated by Bro. J.N. Holmes. Burial will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Robin Janine Walker, age 48, of Jacksonville, AR passed away September 14, 2010. Robin was born in Edwards Air Force Base, CA on December 15, 1961 to Gene & Gayle Owens. She graduated from North Pulaski High School in 1980 then attended UALR and got her Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 2007.She also was part of the Alumni and Honors Society at UALR. She was a member of Bayou Meto Baptist Church.
Robin is preceded in death by grandparents Walter and Lottie Owens as well as Elburn and Doris Mayhugh. She is survived by her husband J.R. Walker of Jacksonville, AR; one daughter Tiffany (Brian) Reel of Jacksonville, AR; one son Drew (Karen) Prine of Sherwood, AR; one sister Wendy (Kevin)Burkart of Eldorado, KS; Four grandchildren Avery, Gabriel, Madison Reel and also Hunter Prine; one niece Tori (Timothy) Morris; and great niece and nephews of Fisher, AR and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
