MARION LOUISE TURNER FLEMING
Marion Louise Turner Fleming, 82, entered her eternal home on Jan. 31, 2005, to be with her heavenly father.
She was born in Fort Smith on Jan. 9, 1923 to the late Edison Turner and Edna Rieche. She was a life-long resident of Saline County and was a member of Springhill Baptist Church for 50 years. She will be remembered for her gracious hospitality and home-cooked meals. She was an avid reader and enjoyed painting and camping with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, two grandchildren Paul Farmer and Jerry Dobbins preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years John Fleming of the Springhill community; five children Leslie Farmer and husband Gene of Seadrift, Texas, Janet Fooks and husband Boyd of Haskell, George Fleming and wife Linda of Hot Springs, Susan Brown and husband Ronnie of Springhill, and Gary Fleming of Benton; one sister Edith Chapman of Little Rock, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Springhill Baptist Church. Burial was at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements by Roller-Ballard Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be made to Springhill Baptist Church, Missionary Baptist Seminary of Little Rock, and Saline Memorial Hospital Hospice Program.
VIRGINIA LEE HOLLINGWORTH
Virginia Lee Hollingworth, 79, of Little Rock, retired from Arkansas State Teacher's Association as music director after 25 years of service, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005.
Our Lord sent down his band of angels to pick up the leader of his choir, to spend eternity playing and singing His holy praise. She was born on June 24, 1925, in Mountain Home to W.Fay and Jewell Tracy Nelson. She was a long-term member of Life Line Baptist Church. She was an inspiration to many of the people she came in contact with. She had a loving and giving heart and was loved by all. She was happily married
for 51 1/2 years to Ramon J. Hollingworth, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughter Raellyn Cockerham of Bryant and her son Hal O. Hollingworth of California; three grandchildren Brandi Henson and family of Little Rock, Nacole Robinson and family of Malvern and Robert Cockerham, Jr. and family of Mayflower; her sister Carolyn Griffith and family of Mountain Home; her brother William Nelson and family of Springfield, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A graveside service was Monday, Jan. 31, at Forest Hills Memorial Park, with Rev. LaDon Chancellor officiating. Roller-Drummond Funeral Home Southwest is in charge of arrangements.

ALICE LOUISE HUDSON
Alice Louise Hudson, 80, of Alexander, passed away Friday, Jan. 28, 2005.
She was born Oct. 3, 1924, the daughter of the late Frank and Mattie Pamplin. She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Hudson.
Surviving are her daughters Judy Hudson of Alexander, Barbara Newkirk and her husband Greg of Conway, and Pam Marshall and her husband Billy of McKinney, Texas; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Chapel.
MABLE D. HALE
Mable D. Hale, 83, of Alexander, a retired LPTN, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005 in Benton.
She was born Oct. 11, 1921 in Benton to the late Charles and Minnie Mangum. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Golden Hale and a daughter Carol Jean Rogers.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law Charles C. Hale of Del Rio, Texas, Bobby G. Hale and wife Margaret of Glen Rose, daughter and son-in-law Janie Westbrook and husband Gerald of Benton; sister and brother-in-law Mildred Pitts and husband Bill of Benton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Monday, Jan. 31, at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Brian Moore officiating. Burial was at Forest Hills cemetery.
BOBBY WALLACE POWELL
Bobby Wallace Powell, 75, of Austin, a retired telegrapher, station agent and dispatcher with St. Louis Southwestern Railway (Cotton Belt Line), passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Baptist Health Medical Center, North Little Rock.
He was born in Gillett on Oct. 17, 1929. He began his career immediately after graduation from Gillett High School. He was a member of Sixteenth Section United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father Bradford William Powell, his mother LaVerne Wallace Ball, his brother Bradford William Powell, Jr., and his son Randy William Powell.
Surviving are his wife Louise Powell; Margie Powell (the mother of his children); two sons Richard Wallace (Erin) Powell of Little Rock and Ronald Wayne (Christy) Powell of Houston, Texas; one daughter Robin Powell Alexander of North Little Rock, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother David Powell of Bryant, four sisters Darlene Hollman and Jane (Dewey) Faught, both of Cabot, Barbara Holzhauer of Gillett, and Alicia (Rob) Donner of Jonesboro; and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
Funeral was Saturday, Jan. 29, at Sixteenth Section Methodist Church. Burial was at Lone Tree cemetery in Stuttgart by Westbrook Funeral Home of Beebe.
William Dean Karabinus
March 16, 1959 - August 23, 2012
William Dean Karabinus, Jr., 53, of Cabot died Thursday, August 23, 2012. He was born March 16, 1959 in Los Angeles, California to the late William Dean Karabinus, Sr. and Floy Dean Sanders Karabinus. Bill was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Jacksonville and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He also served as a lay associate with Companions of the Cross. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a sister.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Alisha Diane Karabinus (Terry Babb) of Lafayette, Indiana; a grandson, Jack Ferrence Hendricks and a special friend, Suzanne Ware of Cabot. Bill wanted to send a special “Thank You” to Suzanne for her love and care; also to his Church family, to Judy, Ellen and staff of Baptist Hospice and to Dr. Sneed and staff at Arkansas Oncology.
A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at St. Jude Catholic Church under the direction of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home (501)982-2136. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church.
JUDY ELLEN DENTON THOMPSON
Judy Ellen Denton Thompson, 66, of North Little Rock died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Baptist Health Center North following cancer surgery and two months of hospitalization.
Born April 4, 1938, she was the daughter of William Monroe and Jewel Lloyd Denton. She attended Little Rock public schools and graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1956. After attending Randolph Macon Women's College in Lynchburg, Va., she graduated with honors in 1960 from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. While her husband pursued a journalism career, the couple lived in Pine Bluff and West Palm Beach, Fla., before moving to North Little Rock, where he became part owner of the city's weekly newspaper, The Times. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she served as an usher, a member of the Arkansas Unit of the Herb Society of America, a former member of the Pine Bluff Junior League and a former docent at the Little Rock Zoo. She was a talented pianist, an avid reader, cook, animal lover, gardener, volunteered in numerous political campaigns, including those of Gov. Winthrop Rockefeller, former U.S. Sens. David Pryor and Dale Bumpers and U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln.
Surviving are her husband John A. Thompson; two sons William A. Thompson of Macomb, Ill., a librarian and assistant professor at Western Illinois University, and Matthew L. Thompson of New Orleans, owner of a remodeling business; and two daughters Ann T. Uglietta of Paradise Valley, Ariz., a lawyer, and Joan T. Miscenich of New Orleans, a medical social worker; a sister, Ann D. Shults and husband Dan of Bryant; sons-in-law John P. Uglietta and Christopher S. Miscenich; and grandchildren Jordan, Elena, and Christian Uglietta and Simon and Sebastian Miscenich.
A Rosary was held Friday, Jan. 28, at Griffin, Leggett, Healey and Roth, Little Rock. A funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, Jan. 29, at Immaculate Conception Church, with Rev. James P. West, pastor, and Msgr. Francis I. Malone officiating. Burial was at Calvary cemetery.

Emma Sue Wilkerson, 64, Springfield, formerly of Bryant, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005.
Surviving are her husband Roger Wilkerson; son Terry Neil Wilkerson of Springfield; brother Floyd McCann of Little Rock; and sister Alva Brown of Benton.

OPAL MCKINNEY POE
Opal McKinney Poe, 86, a retired secretary with Arkansas Power & Light Co. in Strong, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Oak Ridge Nursing Home in El Dorado.
Born March 15, 1918, in Strong, she was the daughter of James Harris McKinney and Pearl Cobb McKinney. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Strong and active in Sunday School. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Harry Eugene Poe.
Surviving are two daughters Suzanne Caprio and her husband Gene of Crossett, and Jeanie O'Connell and her husband Bill of Frisco, Texas; a son James "Jimmy" Poe and his wife Fran of West Monroe, La.; four sisters Merlynn Ware of El Dorado, Janeece Parker of Calion, Lillie Faye Beckwith of Bryant, and Lettie Sue McKinney of El Dorado; a brother James Wilbur McKinney of El Dorado; five grandchildren Melissa Brattlof of Georgetown, Texas, Carol Miller of Crossett, Glen Hodge of Monroe, La., Michelle Euler of Midway Park, N.C., and David Poe of West Monroe, La.; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at First Baptist Church of Strong, with Deaton Norsworthy officiating. Burial was at Teel cemetery, under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors of El Dorado.
