Mildred Witt
Mildred Witt, age 83, a resident of Russellville, AR, died Saturday, June 29, 2002 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, AR. She was born on April 9, 1919 in London, AR, to Sam and Lily (Fincham) Kendrick. She married
Walter O. Witt on November 30, 1935, in a ditch in front of the old London Masonic Lodge, at London, Arkansas. John Doyle McAlister held a match while George McDonald, a local justice of the peace, read and presided over the ceremony. The following Monday, she and Walter went to work picking cotton. Mrs. Witt retired as a retail Clerk for Food Giant Super Markets in California. She was a member of London Assembly of God Church.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at the Humphrey Chapel officiated by Rev. Jerry Schlinker. Entombment will be at Rest Haven Mausoleum in Russellville, Arkansas under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Humphrey Funeral Service, on Tuesday.
Rev. Louis Edward Yendrek, age 83, a resident of Russellville, died Sunday, June 30, 2002 at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on February 5, 1919 in Yell County to Joe and Annie (Hlass) Yendrek. Louis entered the United State Army on October 21, 1941, serving two years as S/Sgt instructor basic training, was in France as T/Sgt Co. A 15th Infantry Third Division. He earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star and was discharged October 21, 1945. He married
Madgelene Parks on June 6, 1948 and attended Arkansas Tech and graduated from Central Bible College with a Bible Major in 1952. Louis loved listening to and singing gospel hymns and he organized a monthly gospel singing from 1946-48 which was broadcast on KXRJ radio. The group met monthly at the First Assembly of God Church and was broadcast on KXRJ radio. He sang in the Valley 5 quartet which was broadcast weekly from First Assembly of God Church in Russellville. He pastored churches in North New Hope, Dyess, Forrest City, West Helena, all in Arkansas, in Linton, Indiana and Southaven, Mississippi. Louis was active in the Russellville Ruritan Club, serving for 9 years as Zone Governor, the American Legion and was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Russellville where he led the Always Young Ministry.
Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at the First Assembly of God Church, officiated by Rev. Larry Moore, Rev. James Phifer, and Mrs. Lois Hargrove. Burial will be at Oakland cemetery in Russellville, Arkansas under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, on Tuesday.
"Hob" Langford
"Hob" Langford, age 82, a resident of Russellville, AR, died Friday, August 3, 2001 at National Park Medical Center at Hot Springs, AR. He was born on July 29, 1919 at Hector, AR, to Oscar & Ellie (Williams) Langford. Mr. Langford retired in July 1981, as a Heavy Equipment Operator with the Arkansas State Highway Department, and was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Russellville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rheba Langford; a brother, Leslie Langford; his nephew, Bobby Langford; his parents; and one brother in law, Melton Trotter. Survivors include one brother & sister-in-law, Arbon & Georgia Langford of Russellville, Arkansas; one sister, Hildred Trotter of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Marie Langford of Russellville, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 6, 2001, at the Humphrey Chapel. Burial will be at the Rock Springs at Hector, AR under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Active pallbearers include Ken Langford, Nelson Langford, Loyan Langford, Bill Tate, Danny Russell and Russell Gates. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday.
Coy E. Blaney
Coy E. Blaney, age 90, a life resident of Russellville, AR, formerly of Russellville, Ar., died Saturday, August 4, 2001 at V. A. Regional Medical Center at Little Rock, AR. He was born on April 11, 1911, at Lost Corner, AR, to Elisah & Cora Mason Blaney. He was a Army Veteran of World War II having received the Purple Heart Medal. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Blaney of Little Rock, AR; a daughter & son-in-law, Jean & Fred Ciampi of Zephyrhills, Florida; and one grandson, Randell Tuell of Forrestville, California. Graveside funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 7, 2001, at the Lost Corner cemetery. Burial will be at the Lost Corner cemetery under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday. Military honors will be provided by Russellville VFW Post #2283.
W. A. Berg

The Reverend W. A. Berg, 88, of Russellville, finished his race and went home to be with his Lord Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock. The son of Dave and Bessie Berg, he was born September 20, 1925 in Arkansas County. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and also served in the Army National Guard. He was an ordained minister with Assemblies of God for over 60 years. His accomplishments include raising his family and faithfully serving the Lord. He was a member of the Damascus Assembly of God Church, the American Legion, Rogers-Rye Post 2283 Veterans of Foreign Wars and a lifetime charter member of the Washington DC National World War II Memorial. He enjoying going to church, antiquing, raising farm animals and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. W. A. was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, OcaDean Berg; his daughter, Diane Berg; his mother, Bessie Berg; and two siblings; Evalena Shumate and Jackie Berg.
Survivors include his two daughters, Scharlette L. Maxwell, Alvine L. Caldwell and husband Terry both of Russellville; three grandchildren, Roger D. Gray and wife Betty, Danielle Gray, both of Russellville and Shawn Caldwell and wife, Grace of Hope; five great grandchildren, Dalton Gray and wife Elexus of Okinawa, Japan; Dusty Gray, Elliot Metz, Gracie Metz, all of Russellville, and Mia Caldwell of Hope; three sisters, Anna Salley, Dora Inman and Kathryn Stiers; two brothers, Floyd Berg and Junior Berg; sister-in-law, Juanita North; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extend family.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at First Assembly of God Church in Russellville. Rev Larry Moore will officiate. Burial will be at Bowden cemetery in Pottsville by Humphrey Funeral Service. Full military honors will be provided. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00PM, on Monday, at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Darrel May, T. R. Hayes, Ronnie Hayes, Randy Hayes, Johnny May and Orville Berg.
Wealtha Daubenheyer
Wealtha Wilhelmina Daubenheyer, 87, of Russellville died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2008, at her home.
The daughter of Charles Benjamin Holaday and Stella Beatrice Wagoner Holaday, she was born Dec. 17, 1920, in Upper Oxford, Penn.
Wealtha served in The Order of the Eastern Star while in Indianapolis, Ind., as well as the American Legion in Monticello, Minn. She was a WAC during WWII. She and her husband, Miles, had an exciting life, living in many unique destinations including Haiti, where she was looked upon as a nurse to the Haitians in the area at the time. Wealtha was an accomplished seamstress and excelled in knitting, enjoyed oil painting and was an avid cat lover. She was a member of The First Christian Disciples of Christ Church in Russellville.
She was proceeded in death by her parents as well as her sister, Hazel Stancill.
Survivors include her husband, Miles; a daughter, Debra Jaworski and husband, James, of San Antonio, Texas; as well as a son, Fred Daubenheyer and wife, Candice, of Russellville; grandchildren Miles Ransdell and wife, Michelle, Shane Jaworski and wife, Melanie, Chris Jaworski and wife, Rose, Miles Daubenheyer and wife, Tammy, Brian Daubenheyer and wife, Brittny and Greg Daubenheyer and wife, Sissy; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held later at the family cemetery in Versailles, Ind.
Harold Harris
Harold Harris, 73, of Hattieville died at his home Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008.
He was born June 7, 1935, in Vinsons-Chapel, the son of Elbert and Mabel Hurley Harris.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Glenda Sue Harris; and a brother, Doyle Garrigus. He was a field technician for ConAgra Foods.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Harris of Hattieville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Len and Vicki Harris, Jeff and Sandra Harris, Steve and Cristi Harris and Greg and Sarah Harris; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Joe Sensabaugh; a stepdaughter, Corine Gibbs; a brother, Bob Harris; a sister, Margaret Boyer; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, under the arrangement of Lemley Funeral Service.

Jimmy Elms
Jimmy G. Elms, 71, of Clarksville died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2008, at Johnson Regional Medical Center in Clarksville.
Born July 12, 1937, he was retired from the Clarksville City Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Dorr and Jewell Irene Cartwright Elms.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy May Dobbs Elms of Clarksville; two sons, Ronnie Elms and wife, Martha, and Wendell Elms and wife, Tonya, all of Batesville; stepchildren Pamela A. Smith and Alan Mize and wife, JoAnn, all of Clarksville; sisters Wanda Faye Hawkins of Batesville, Peggy Holder of Batesville, Betty Barber of Sapulpa, Okla. and Martha Blanton of Batesville; brothers Evan Elms of Batesville and William Elms of Missouri; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at Roller Cox Funeral Home in Clarksville under the direction of Rev. Amos Pledger. Burial will be at Woodland cemetery in Clarksville.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at Roller Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Ronnie Thomas, David Thomas, Curtis Houston, Donald Glen Dobbs, Jeff Worth and Lloyd Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Butch Warren, George Stewart and Robert Carter.
Richard ‘Dick’ King
Richard “Dick” King, 56, of Pottsville died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at Conway Regional Health Center in Conway.
The son of Loyle and Wanda K. Dalton King, he was born Jan. 21, 1952, in Russellville. He was an Arkansas Tech University alumnus, and was the owner of Dalton King Packaging.
Richard was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 3928, serving as president from 2005-07, past president 2007-08 and a state officer in 2007-08. Dick was a Methodist. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, fishing, bird hunting, garage saleing and landscaping his yard.
He also enjoyed telling others how to landscape their yards.
He was preceded in death by his father, Loyle F. King.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara King of Pottsville; four daughters, Celeste Snyder of Manhattan, Kan., Elisha Petty of Russellville, Misty Ridenhour of Goodyear, Ariz., and Melissa Mediano of Russellville; his mother, Wanda King of Pottsville; three brothers, Joe King of Sunrise, Fla., Gary King of St. Charles, Mo. and Ray King of Atkins; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at Humphrey Chapel.
Rev. Jim Huddleston will officiate. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. today at funeral home.

Harold Eugene Griffin
Harold Eugene Griffin, 84, of Pottsville, formerly of London, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
The son of Joseph and Gladys Bruton Griffin, he was born May 25, 1927, in Springfield, Mo. He was a 32nd-degree mason and a licensed airplane pilot who flew his own plane. He enjoyed fishing, flying airplanes and socializing with people. Harold took his dog Ravin with him anywhere he went. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly Jean Griffin; one great-grandson, Michael Waldow; and brother, Charles Griffin.
Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Joe Griffin and wife Lexie and Chris Griffin; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Amy Caudle, Nicole Barron, Leah Marie Griffin, Ryan Christopher Griffin, Allison Barron, Nathan Barron, Richard Barron, Juliann Waldow, Sean Caudle and Gianna Griffin; sister, Patsy Koontz and husband Leo; many nieces and nephews; a special friend, Reba Guynes; and his beloved dog Ravin.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at Steep Hill cemetery in Fort Smith. Pastor Jared Higginbotham will officiate. Burial will follow under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ola Wilburn
Ola E. Wilburn, 85, of Knoxville died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at Clarksville Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born Sept. 5, 1923, in Eldrod, Ala., a daughter of the late Edgar and Anna Mitchell.
She was a member of Pencil Bluff Baptist Church and a graduate of Elrod High School.
She is preceded in death by a son, Stephen Wilburn; a daughter, Charlotte Light; a daughter-in-law, Bobbie Wilburn; and a brother, William Mitchell.
Wilburn is survived by two sons, Harold Wilburn of Fort Smith and Greg Wilburn and wife, Becky, of Knoxville.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Corinth Baptist Church cemetery in Gordo, Ala., under the direction of Rev. Donald Stringer. Arrangements are by Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
Charles Skidgel
Charles Ralph Skidgel, 76, of Hartman died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 30, 1932, in Hartman, son of the late Thomas and Ollie Kilcrease Skidgel.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Bob, Gene, Paul and John Skidgel, and two sisters, Parilee Morris and Patricia Maute.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Terrill Skidgel; a daughter, Freda Cordes and husband, Mike, of Bentonville; a sister, Mary Jo Morgan of Ozark; a brother, Thomas Skidgel of Clarksville; and two grandchildren, Faith Cordes of Bentonville and Cordell Skidgel of Clarksville.
Graveside memorial wil be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at West Mount Zion cemetery in Hartman, under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
