Eddie Rains
Eddie Gene Rains, 59, of Searcy went to be with his Lord Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009.
He was born Jan. 20, 1950, in Union, Ark., to Timothy and Bessie Rains.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Orval T.B. and Ermal Billy Rains.
Survivors include one brother, Charles Dempsey Rains, and his wife, Margie, of Russellville; three sisters, Bobbie Sexton of Wenatchee, Wash., Faye Garrett and husband, Charlie, of Batesville, and Carolyn Stark and husband, Charles, of Bald Knob; special aunts and uncles, Talmadge and Lillian Lawson of Meeker, Okla., and Jewell Eden of Shawnee, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews including local nieces Marjeana and Ronnie Taylor and Traci and Donnie Tabor.
Graveside service and burial will be at 3 p.m. today at Union cemetery on State Highway 9 at Union.
Pallbearers include Jeff Adkins, Jerrod Adkins, Ed Talley, Donnie Helm and Donnie Tabor.

Mathilde Pampus
Mathilde Pampus, 86, of Dardanelle, “Our loss is heaven’s gain.” We had to say goodbye to our mom, she went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle.
She was born May 2, 1923, in Altenkessel-Saar, Germany, the daughter of Nikolaus Gross and Ida Gries. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Otto Pampus.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Hella Pampus Price and her husband, Bobby, of Dardanelle; grandson Stefan Happ and his wife, Jennifer, of El Paso, Texas, three great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandsons.
Funeral service will be announced at a later date by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.

Fred Davis Coley
(July 26, 1965 - February 20, 2013)
Fred Davis Coley, 47, of Booneville, Arkansas, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in a Little Rock, Hospital. He was born July 26, 1965 in Alabama to George Francis and Helen Nadine (Knight) Coley.
He was a truck driver and enjoyed hunting and Karaoke.
He is preceded in death by his wife Tamera Coley and his parents.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 25, 2013 at Roberts Memorial Chapel in Booneville, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery in Booneville, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home. There will be no graveside service.
He is survived by one sister, two sisters, Diana Smith of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Sherry Garner of Booneville, Arkansas; one brother, Dwayne Garner of Booneville, Arkansas; special friend, Delores Garner and several nieces and nephews.

Carl Habel Jr.
Carl Habel Jr., age 78, of Pelsor, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at his home.
A son of the late Carl Martin and Elsie Martha Mueller Habel, he was born Dec. 10, 1931, in Oakland, Calif. He was a 1949 graduate of Concordia High School in Oakland, a former butcher for Pringle Meats in Oakland, and was an active member of The Salvation Army in Russellville. He loved the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul and with all his strength and loved his neighbor as himself.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Bookhammer of Byron, Calif.; two sons, Tom Habel of Manteca, Calif., and Ken Habel of Byron; a stepson, Robert Burns of Dover; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sue Habel of Wheatland, Calif.; four grandchildren, Michael Habel, Matthew Habel, Douglas Bookhammer and Jesskah Bookhammer; and a great-grandchild, Skylah Irvin.
Burial by Shinn Funeral Service was private.
The family will conduct a graveside memorial service at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at Tarlton cemetery near Lurton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 2075, Russellville, AR 72811.

William White Jr.
DARDANELLE — William Clarence White Jr., 60, of Bismark died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at his home.
He was born April 12, 1949, at Tyronza to William Clarence White Sr. and Lue Tishia Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Butch White; and a sister, Susan Elizabeth White.
Survivors include brothers, Gary White of Dardanelle, Robert White of Bigelow and Larry Eugene White of Dardanelle; sisters, Beulah Catherine Eaton of Malvern, Lue Tishia Eaton of Russellville and Martha Ann Dunn of Dover; and many nephews and nieces and other relatives.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
Cremation arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home.

James Marshall
DARDANELLE — James Allen Marshall, age 66, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center in Clarksville.
He was born March 22, 1943, at Cotton Town to Dock Allen and Callie May Spence Marshall. He was a Army veteran and a mechanic for John Deere for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Charlene Gamble.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Marshall of Dardanelle, and Jason Marshall and wife, Sherrie, of Lamar; a daughter and son-in-law, Sonya Foster and husband, James, of Russellville; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Brother Tom McElmurry officiating. Burial will be in Brearley cemetery. Arrangements By Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle.
Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Elizabeth Bodesia Kinslow
Elizabeth Bodesia Kinslow, 75, of Greenwood went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at her home.
She was a member of Greenwood First Baptist Church, teacher of the Praise Sunday School Class, member of the Harris-Hannah Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6527 Ladies Auxiliary, and was Greenwood Citizen of the Year in 2003. She is preceded in death by her son, Fred Kinslow Jr.; one sister, Connie Kuhn; and her parents, Jarrett and Georgia Milam.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Greenwood First Baptist Church with burial at Gilliam cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
The family will visit friends from 3-5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Fred Kinslow; two daughters, Debra Kinslow of Greenwood and Elizabeth Scharbor and her husband, Tommy, of Greenwood; one son, Doug Kinslow and wife, Pam, of Greenwood; one daughter-in-law, Gabriela Kinslow of Fort Smith; two brothers, Damon Milam of Fort Smith and John Milam of Greenwood; five sisters, Merle Varner of Dayton, Bonnie Yates of Fort Smith, Ann Wilson of Greenwood, Doris Hearron of Midland and Cindy Tuttle of Greenwood; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenwood Parks and Recreation Department, P.O. Box 1450, Greenwood, AR 72936.

Larry Blair
Larry L. Blair, 73, a resident of Russellville, formerly of Luckey, Ohio, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 10, 1936, at Luckey, Ohio, to Vernon and Verla VanCamp Blair. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served with the 508th Airborne Regimental Combat Team out of Fort Campbell, Ky., and worked for Brush Wellman Inc. in Elmore, Ohio, for more than 40 years, retiring to Russellville with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife on Jan. 6 2009, E. Jane “Jan” Blair, whom he married on Dec. 30, 1958, and would have been married 51 years this year. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his daughter, Lorry Linn of Russellville; a grandson, Cody Linn of Russellville; and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Blair will be interred, along with his wife, in the Troy Township cemetery in Luckey, Ohio. Arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Memorials may be made to the Russellville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund, 215 S. Portland Ave., Russellville, AR 72801.

Jessie Brown
Jessie Brown, age 89, of Russellville, the widow of Joe E. Brown, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home.
A daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Ethel Arnold Drown, she was born Oct. 4, 1920, at Crossroads, Ark. (Izard County). She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was also preceded in death by a son, Duane Brown.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sherry Brown of Pottsville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Joyce May of Little Rock, and Gloria and Wayne Phillips of Russellville; three grandchildren, Terra Smith, Mark Brown and Ginger Brown; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Steve Mosley. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park by Shinn Funeral Service.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 1200 N. Arkansas Ave., Russellville, AR 72801.

Jeannette E. Metherell
Jeannette E. Metherell, 82, of Russellville, formerly of Dover, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 at Stella Manor Nursing Home.
The daughter of Frank E. Turner and Hazel F. Lemerond, she was born Jan. 19, 1928, in Green Bay, Wisc. She was a loving wife and mother. Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Albert U. Farris, and second husband, Raymond L. Metherell; and three brothers, Bob, Don and Cal Turner.
Survivors include four daughters, Linda McClure of California, Kathryn Waterman and husband, Phil, of Arkansas, Joan Berryhill and husband, John, of Indiana, and Nancy Hunt and husband, Tom, of Oregon; two granddaughters, Lisa McClure and Malissa Machynia of California; three grandsons, Duane and Brian Myers of Arkansas, and Jason Jones of Oregon; one brother, Jackie Hanson and wife, Thelma, of Idaho; two sisters, Violet and Shirley; and a special friend, Mary Lou Freeman of Arkansas.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
