FISHER -- Bonnie Kaiser, 67, died of natural causes Monday, Dec. 12, at her residence. She was a retired legal secretary.

Judy Theresa Martin
PIGGOTT -- Judy Theresa Martin, 57, of Piggott died Sunday, Dec. 11, at the NEA Hospital in Jonesboro.
Born in Hornersville, Mo., she was employed at the Piggott Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Martin, of the home; three sons, Bryan Samples, Sean Martin and Mark Samples, all from the Piggott area; her mother, Lucille Edmonston, of Campbell, Mo.; seven grandchildren; three brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel with Shelly Elkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Piggott Cemetery
under the direction of Irby Funeral Home.
Visitation is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. today at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Piggott.
Opal 'Irene' Nelms
ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- Opal "Irene" Nelms, 91, died Dec. 12 at National Health Care in St. Charles. She was born Nov. 14, 1914, in Brookland and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Nelms; parents, Clarence and Margaret Adams; four brothers, Paul, Ernest, Henry and Alonzo; one sister, Helen; and one grandson, Timothy Dennis.
Survivors include one son, Dennis Nelms Jr. of O'Fallon, Mo.; two daughters, Opal Johnson of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Joy Lee Dennis of Stamps; five grandsons, Phil Johnson, Dave Johnson, Steven B. Dennis, Scott Dennis and James D. Nelms; one granddaughter, Gina M. Nelms; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 7 p.m. Thursday at Baue Funeral and Memorial Center Parlor. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday with interment at Pine Log Cemetery
in Brookland.
Visitation will take place from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at Baue Funeral and Memorial Center.
Virgil Edmund Puckett
MOBILE, Ala. -- Virgil Edmund Puckett, 91, of Mobile, Ala., formerly of Jonesboro, died Sunday, Dec. 11, at his residence.
He was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Puckett, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Adrian Puckett, Semmes, Ala.; two daughters, Phyllis Kennedy, Columbus, Ohio and Linda West, Pelham, Ala.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday in Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Omea Nell Rooks
JONESBORO -- Omea Nell Rooks, 65, of Jonesboro, formerly of Keiser, died Monday, Dec. 12, in St. Bernard's Hospital at Jonesboro.
Born Dec. 11, 1940, in Vanndale to Emmett Rooks and Dorothy Mae Peeler Brooks, she was a homemaker and a member of the Keiser First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her father; one son, Greg Rooks; and one sister, Patricia Houston, all of Jonesboro. She was preceded in death by her mother.
Visitation will be held today from 6-7:30 p.m. in Roller-Swift Funeral Home at Osceola. The Rev. Todd Vinson will conduct a private family burial on Thursday with Roller-Swift Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Louise Ward Saala
PARAGOULD -- Louise Ward Saala was born in Pocahontas on June 6, 1921, to Kate and Alan Ward. She married George Saala on June 6, 1938. She attended Pocahontas High School, where she was a member of the track and basketball teams and was known for her free-throw accuracy. She was also a member of the Pocahontas United Methodist Church for over 70 years and a PACE instructor. She had recently moved to Sunshine Manor in Paragould and was attending Griffin Memorial Methodist Church there.
She is survived by four children, Sandra Saala Houston, Lisa Saala, Allan Saala and Mark Saala, all of Pocahontas; one brother, Milton Ward of Bentonville; five grandchildren, Suzanne Hawkins, Natasha Wheeler, Patty Nelson, Brandon Saala and Christopher Saala; and nine great-grandchildren, Moye, Jody, and Hailey Hawkins, Sydney Saala-Thielemier, Breanna and Erin Wheeler, Bethany and Jenny Nelson, and Maya Saala.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Glenn Pettus officiating, with interment following in Shiloh Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Pocahontas Day Service Center of the First United Methodist Church.
Beverly Ruth Simpson
RECTOR -- Funeral services for 60-year-old Beverly Ruth Simpson, who died Dec. 12 at her residence in Rector, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Martineau officiating. Interment will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Visitation is at 6 p.m. today.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Thelma Wills; husband, Beryl Simpson; one daughter, Melissa Simpson; and a sister, Barbara Goodnight.
Survivors are a daughter, Kristal Simpson of the home; one son, Courtney Simpson of the home; two grandchildren, Skyler and Jordan; one sister, Glenda Banton of Kennett; and special friends, Rodney Lancaster and Sue Ellen Barnes.
Pallbearers will be Dave Gunn, Erik Lopez, Josh Farmer, Brandon O'Neal, Jarred Roach and Steve Horton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home.
Virginia Gail Smithee
MONETTE -- Virginia Gail Smithee, 41, of Monette died Dec. 12 in St. Bernard's Medical Center at Jonesboro.
She was born in and lived her lifetime in Monette.She was employed by Frolic Shoe Company and was of the Baptist belief.
Survivors include her parents, Billy and Maria Ybarra Hart; two sisters, Billie Bankston and Laura Carmichael, both of Monette; and one brother, Mark Hart of Monette.
She was preceded in death by a son, Nathan Smithee; a daughter, Brandy Smithee; and a brother, Paul Matthew Hart.
There will be a celebration of her life held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with the Rev. Terry Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Monette Cemetery.
Honored to serve as active pallbearers are Wade Spikes, Wyeth Spikes, Bill Liles, Scott Rolland, Jackie Wayne Gathright and Chris Rush, and honorary pallbearers, Ronnie Qualls and Brian Pannells.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Johnny Ray Stephenson
SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Johnny Ray Stephenson, 53, of Sacramento died Oct. 29.
He was born on Oct. 27, 1952 at Trumann and served in the military.
Survivors include one daughter, Tisha Louella Christian, 29; three grandsons, Gabriel Christian, 10, Bryceton Christian, 6, and Rocco Christian, 2 months, all of Kokomo, Ind; a brother, Buster Stephenson of Harrisburg; and two sisters, Anna Meurer and Reba Carter, of Jonesboro.
The Rev. Ricky Dobbins will be officiating the memorial services at 1 p.m. Friday in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery
at North Little Rock.

HAMPTON, Va. -- Marilyn Walker, 52, of Hampton, Va., formerly of Jonesboro, died Dec. 11.
Survivors include three sons, Alex Walker, Jonesboro, Justin and Dustin Walker, Hampton; mother and stepfather, Pearl and Wilson Ward, Jonesboro; father and stepmother, James and Rose Tuberville, Hampton; seven brothers, Ricky Walker, Detroit, Wayne Walker, Philadelphia, Danny Ward, Dallas, Zachary Ward, Jonesboro, and Carlos, Daryl, and Derrick Tuberville, Hampton; five sisters, Debbie Lewis, Milwaukee, Valerie Ward, Hampton, Teresa Ward Hinton, Jonesboro, and Crystal Belle and Trina Rogers, Hampton; and seven grandchildren.
Services are 1 p.m. at Nicholson-Cummings Funeral Home, Hampton.
Mary Kelley Dickson
GOSNELL -- Mary Kelley Dickson, 83, of Gosnell, the widow of Leonard Murry Dickson, died Friday, Dec. 16, at her home.
She leaves two sons, David Dickson and Randall Leonard Dickson Sr., both of Gosnell; and three grandchildren, Randall Dickson Jr., Ronnie Dickson and Robin Dickson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville with the Rev. Jimmy Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
