Donald Francis Jones Jr.
Donald Francis Jones, Jr. of Little Rock passed away Saturday, April 22, 2006. He was born April 19, 1924, in Ardmore, Oklahoma to the late Donald F. Jones, Sr. and Lena Lichlyter Jones. He graduated from Culver Military Academy and attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He also served in the U. S. Army during WWII.
Mr. Jones was a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1952 to 1956. He was the Vice President of DF Jones Construction Company. He was an avid golfer, a member of the DP golfing club, and conducted golf clinics at several Arkansas golf courses. He was a member of Geyer Springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Duke Jones; four children, Victoria Hall, Donald F. Jones III, Jay E. Jones and Christopher Jones; and five grandchildren, Davidson Hall, Harrison Hall, Brie Jones, James Jones and Tucker Anderson.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Ruebel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice or First Tee of Arkansas.
William "Bill" J. Allen
William “Bill” Allen, 59, of Little Rock died April 9, 2006. He was born in Pine Bluff on October 20, 1946 to the late “K.B.” and Mae John Coburn Allen. After graduation from Pine Bluff High School, Bill joined the U.S. Air Force and served for 17 years, during which he fought in the Vietnam War from 1976-1977. He proudly flew second seat with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. After retiring from the military he worked with Central Flying Service in Little Rock and Elliott Aviation in Moline, IL before moving back to Little Rock in February of 2006.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; daughter, Erica Goins of Monroe, LA; son, Billy Allen; step-children, Paul Forester and wife, Sherri of Bowling Green, KY, Matthew Forester and wife Nicole of Gainesville, FL, Wendy Lovelady and husband Jason of Cincinnati, OH, Burk Forester and wife, Angie of Memphis, TN; sister, Julia James of Pine Bluff; and 6 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in the Chapel of Ruebel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Embassy Suites following the service.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the family.

Nancy Joan Baldwin
Nancy Joan Baldwin, age 75, of Little Rock, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2006.
Born in Piqua, Ohio, on March 8, 1930, Nancy was preceded in death by her father; her mother, Arbutus Patch; her husband, John Baldwin; and a granddaughter, Randi Ann Adney.
Nancy was a devoted mother and grandmother; her children and grandchildren were her life. Many would agree that her greatest attributes were her personality and sense of humor - she was certainly the life of the party and never met a stranger, and she encouraged everyone with whom she came in contact. She also loved nature, music, and golf. Nancy was, at one time, the Ladies’ Golf Champion at Trace Creek Country Club. An artist both in practice and in spirit, she painted using mixed media – going so far as painting the lives of those around her, filling them with color, love and life. She will be terribly missed and the impact she left on the lives she touched will remain forever.
Survivors include her daughters, Jeanne Murphy of Little Rock, Jan Adney and husband Randy of Benton, Jo-Jo Baldwin, and Jane Baldwin, both of Little Rock; granddaughters, Natalie and Hannah Murphy of Little Rock; a sister-in-law Maryanna Baldwin of Deerborn, Michigan; and her beloved dog, Margie.
Burial services will be private, under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.

Clare Jobe Bowie
Clare Jobe Bowie, age 77 of Little Rock passed away on January 16, 2005. She was born in Calhoun City, MS to Nettie Beasley and Phillip J Jobe. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bobby B. Bowie and a brother Bill B. Jobe. She is survived by her son Robert A. Bowie; daughter, Eleanor K. Bowie; sister-in-law, Lill Jobe; three nieces and two great nieces and very special friends, Gloria Allen and Mary Mabry. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday at Roselawn Memorial Park with Rev. John Fleming officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2223 Durwood Rd, Little Rock, AR 72207.
Jane Hurley Cashion
Jane Hurley Cashion, 77, of Little Rock passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born February 7, 1929, in Warren, Arkansas, to the late James Edward Hurley, Sr. and Emma Mae Grisham Hurley. She attended Warren High School, Mary Baldwin College and the University of Arkansas, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She is preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Knight Cashion, Sr., brothers James Edward Hurley, Jr. and Ted Grisham Hurley.
She is survived by sons Benson Arthur Cashion and wife Susie of Little Rock, Ted Hurley Cashion and wife Ann of Memphis, Tennessee, and Matthew Knight Cashion, Jr. and wife Susan of Little Rock. Jane is also survived by ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A member of Second Presbyterian Church, Jane had been actively involved in many different areas and aspects of church life, including service as an elder and leadership roles in Women of the Church. Civic involvement included years of service to the Junior League of Little Rock where she worked with the City Beautiful Commission and Potluck Food Services. Later volunteer activity included working for Dr. Barry Ford at Little Rock Family Practice Clinic West Assisting patients in the waiting room area, especially young children. Jane had been a resident for the past three years at Pleasant Valley Living Center in Little Rock where the professionals lovingly cared for her.
The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff and friends at PVLC for their compassion and concern for her well being.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Ruebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 15, 2006 from 1:00 -3:00 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 W. Markham Street in Little Rock. A private family graveside service will be held followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 17 at Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock.

Clara Lou Foster Connell
Clara Lou Foster Connell was born January 18, 1917 in Springhill, AR, the daughter of the late Henry Haskin [Hal] and Clara Adeline Martin Foster. She was the last of six children born to this union. She was married
to Lewis Leonard Connell on November 16, 1935. He preceded her in death on September 4, 1991.
Mrs. Connell was active in the United Methodist Church her entire lifetime. She taught every age level of the Church School and often was a leader for special Bible and Mission studies. She was involved in the United Methodist Women at the local, district and conference level. She served as President of her local unit a number of times and also held other offices. She was the first woman appointed to the Board of Directors of the United Methodist Student Movement at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, AR. In addition to her church involvement she was also a volunteer in numerous community activities in the various cities where she has lived.
She resided at the Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Good Shepherd at the time of her death.
A son, Dr. Foster Gladwin Connell, Little Rock, survives her. A daughter, Marcia Lynda, and four brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
On March 22nd she transferred her membership from the Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, Little Rock, to the Church Triumphant where she continues to serve her risen Lord and Savior.
The Celebration of Christian Victory will be Friday, March 24th at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Ruebel Funeral Home. Reverend Lavon Post and Reverend Clefton Vaughan will officiate. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m in the Garden of the Good Shepherd at Memory Gardens cemetery in Hope. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be James Ault, Alan Duncan, Reverend Terry Gosnell. Jay Jones, Dr. K. Richard Knoll, and Dr. Tracy Windham. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Jim Morse, Dr. Ahmad Abdelal, Pearl Downs, Jerry Matthew, Margaret Ault, Nurses and Staff at Arkansas Hospice and Nurses and Staff at the Nursing and Rehabilitation unit at Good Shepherd.

Jane Kimbro Wells Crockett
JANE KIMBRO WELLS CROCKETT of Little Rock traveled to her home in heaven on Saturday, February 18, 2006, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Crockett was born on December 12, 1926, in Monticello, Ark., to the late Exall Law Kimbro and “Lucy” Knowles Kimbro. She graduated from U of A at Fayetteville, Ark., and was a member of Pi Beta Pi Sorority. After graduation she taught school in Warren and Stuttgart, Ark., and then became a flight attendant for American Airlines for a number of years. Jane was active in selling antiques at Antiquarius and the English Antiques Gallery following the death of her husband.
Jane was a world traveler and was most recently arranging many enjoyable trips for large groups of tourists to destinations in various parts of the world. She was actively associated with All About Travel. She and her husband Earl enjoyed extensive travel during their eight years of marriage.
Jane enjoyed life to the fullest each day. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and volunteering with her church circle group. She supported the arts and enjoyed visiting galleries and museums throughout the world. Jane also contributed to the activities of the Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Home in Monticello, Ark.
She is survived by her husband, Earl B. Crockett of Little Rock; a daughter, Jan Wells of Little Rock; son, Travis Mark Wells of Jacksonville ; sister, Annette Kimbro Bowman of Atlanta, Ga.; brother, Exall Law Kimbro, Jr. and wife Clara of Columbia, Md.; two stepdaughters, Tully Ritchie and husband Charles of High Point, N.C., and Suzanne Kelly and husband Kim of Hot Springs Village; four step grandchildren ; two step great-grandchildren ; many nieces, nephews and friends, including long-time best friends, Sherry Ahring and her husband Walter III.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive, with the Rev. Dr. Karen Akin and Rev. Jim Miller officiating. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Vim Pershing Dawson
Vim Pershing Dawson, 86, of Sherwood died February 3, 2006. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie McDonald Dawson; parents, George and Delphia Dawson, and sister, Velma.
Survivors include daughter, Frances Chinske; son, Larry Dawson; brothers, Thurman Dawson of Russelville, and Glen Dawson of Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was a 50 year Mason of London Lodge # 339.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday at Victory Baptist Church in Sherwood with Bro. Tom Hart officiating, burial will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park, with a Masonic Memorial Service.

Dr. James Lowden Dennis
Dr. James Lowden Dennis, age 92, of North Little Rock, returned home with “Our Heavenly Father” on January 10, 2006. He is preceded in death by his late wife Virginia Roueche’ Dennis, two brothers, Westervelt Dennis and John Shelby Metcalf, a sister Elisabeth Hughes and grandson James Corey Dennis. He is survived by his two sons, William H. Dennis (Becky) and Jim R. Dennis (Joanna), of North Little Rock, and daughter Constance M. Wilson of Fayetteville, six grandchildren, Kelly Beres, Kimberly Spafford, Kara Smith, Kristen Harris, Billy Dennis and Andrea Dennis and eight great-grandchildren. He was a beloved Father, Grandfather, friend, mentor and last of the great and true gentlemen.
Born in Britton, Oklahoma on August 8, 1913 to William and Artie Dennis, he graduated from CSTC in Edmond Oklahoma and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Oklahoma in 1940.
He enjoyed the electric organ which he learned to play as therapy to strengthen a hand injury received while serving in World War II as a Lieutenant, Senior grade in the South Pacific.
Dr. Dennis specialized in pediatrics with a primary interest in developmental pediatrics. He served as Dean of Medicine, Director and Vice President of the University’s Health Sciences Center at the Univesity of Oklahoma. He would be the first Chancellor for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, retiring from the position in 1979 but continuing as a professor of pediatrics untill fully retiring in 1981 as Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics. He would then enjoy his title as consultant to the James L. Dennis Child Developmental Center at Children's Hospital. Dr. Dennis had a passion for children and their development.
He was honored as a man of vision and one who loved a challenge. On one hand he was always working to solve immediate problems all the while planning, envisioning and working for a better tomorrow in Medicine and Humanity. His love for children was evident not only through his practice as a pediatrician, but also at home with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the many friends and physicians who helped care for Dr. Dennis and a special thanks to Hospice and to his faithful and loving caregivers, Billy Dennis, Lia Polite, Cathy Johnson, Helen Jones, Sherry Aburu and Ollie Taylor who put in countless hours around the clock to make sure he was well taken care of.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm Friday, January 20, 2006 at St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. Interment will be in Palestine, Texas.
