D.C. " Peck" Ellis
D.C. " Peck" Ellis, age 77, of Little Rock died on March 16, 2004. He was born on August 25, 1926 in Little Rock, to the late George and Emma Grace Ellis. Mr. Ellis was The Founding and Senior Partner of Ellis, Tucker and Aldridge, Certified Public Accounting Firm. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. Mr. Ellis was a Veteran of WWII. He was an avid golfer, tennis player, and enjoyed jazz music.
His first wife Joan Ellis and daughter Judy Ellis Eichenbaum preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Emma Sue Ellis; two children, George Ellis and his wife Selena of Benton, and Jane Ellis Puckett and her husband Larry of Maumelle; six grandchildren, John Sullivan of Flower Mound, TX, Marcy McKenzie of North Little Rock, Ashley Paladino of Maumelle, John Andrew Ellis of Benton, Beth Ellis Dickson of Urbana, IL and Lauren Puckett of Maumelle. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, March 19, 2004 in the Chapel of Ruebel Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday evening at the Funeral Home.

James Warren Gentry
James Warren Gentry, 56, of Little Rock died Tuesday, March 16, 2004. He was born in Blytheville, AR to James Merritt Gentry and Betty Jane Warrington Gentry. After graduation from Wilson High School and before attending UCA at Conway, Jim served in the U. S. Navy, stationed in Norfolk, VA. during the Vietnam War. He was a Little Rock Realtor, serving on the Ethics Committee of the Little Rock Board of Realtors and was a Lifetime Million Dollar Producer. He spent many volunteer hours at Children's Hospital. Jim loved people and they responded to his never ending good humor.
He is survived by his wife, Shelley Smith Gentry, his mother, Betty Gentry of Holly Grove, AR, two sons, Patrick Ryan Gentry and James (Jay) Warren Gentry, Jr. and his wife Rhonda, all of Little Rock, one granddaughter, Alexis Gentry and nine brothers and sisters, Brad Gentry, Blake Gentry, Raymond Gilbrech, Ron Gilbrech, Mary Beth Thompson, Marilyn Cox, Yvonne Sullivan, Rick Gilbrech and Jeff Gilbrech. He was preceded in death by his father. Jim gained great love and support from the friends of the Bill W. family.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church by Rev. Jeffery T. Warrick and Dr. Jeffery B. Alberta "Bert" Fitzhugh Hicks
Alberta "Bert" Fitzhugh Hicks, 90, of Little Rock was born March 18, 1914 in Hot Springs County and passed away Friday, March 26, 2004.
She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to all those who knew her. She was a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock, and a former employee of Winburn Tile Co. She ministered to many at the Good Shepherd Retirement Community and the Briarwood Nursing and Rehab Center during her tenure to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death be her husband, M.C. "Bill" Hicks; her father and mother, Thomas and Maude Fitzhugh; three sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Bernice Fitzhugh of W. Monroe, LA; and a special friend, Maxine Kemp.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 29, at the Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
David Graham Hubener
David Graham Hubener, age 56, of Little Rock, died Sunday, March 28, 2004. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, May 31, 1947 to the late Willis Eldridge and Dorothy Christensen Hubener. He served his country as a proud Marine, was an avid outdoorsman, an outstanding Little Rock banker, and lived everyday to its fullest.
David is survived by his wife of 12 years, Rebecca of Little Rock, his son, Chris Hubener and wife Brandy of Little Rock, one daughter, Erin Pelloquin and husband Mike of Austin, Texas, one sister Ann Hatley and husband Phillip of Mena, Arkansas, two brothers, Lance Hubener and wife Kathy, of Sandpoint, Idaho, Scott Hubener of San Rafael, California, and 2 grandchildren, Ella Faith Hubener, and Sophie Phipps Pellquin. He will be missed by many incredible friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10am Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral officiated by The Very Reverend Henry Hudson.

Jimmie Louise Williams Hughes
Jimmie Louise Williams Hughes, age 78, widow of Howard Hughes, died Saturday, March 20, 2004. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Frank Thompson of Mabelvale, Arkansas; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Donna Hughes of Chicago, Illinois; and four grandchildren, Scott Thompson and Brandy Thompson of Mabelvale, Arkansas; Chris Hughes of Redondo Beach, California; and Clay Hughes of Little Rock, Arkansas, currently serving with the 39th Enhanced Brigade.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24 at the Pulaski Heights Baptist Church . Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Pulaski Heights Baptist Church Young at Heart Program.
George H. Klauder
George H. Klauder, age 58, of Little Rock, died March 10, 2004 after a difficult recovery from a liver transplant. He was born on September 25, 1945 in Hopewell, VA. He graduated from Grady High School in Atlanta, GA and attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He was a United States Airforce Veteran where he served in the Tet Offensive during Vietnam. George worked for the US Department of HUD as a Real Estate Appraiser and Multi Family Cost Analyst from 1968 to 1985. George then opened his own Real Estate company; George Klauder and Assoc., Inc., doing what he loved best, appraising Real Estate. George was a Certified Real Estate Appraiser, a member of the Independent Fee Appraisers, a licensed Real Estate Agent, and a lifetime member of The American Legion. His hobbies included riding his motorcycle, spending time with his family, and traveling. He especially enjoyed his last trip to Samoa and New Zealand.
He is survived by his wife of eleven years, Beth Gossett Klauder; two sons, Thomas Klauder of Fayetteville, AR, Marcus Beasley of Pensacola, FL; six daughters Janet Klauder Mizer of Loudon, TN, Heather Davis of Jonesboro, AR., Amber Smith, Kaitlyn, Olivia, and Daisey Grace Klauder all of Little Rock; five grandsons, George and Lance Mizer, A.J. and Ethan Davis, and Cheyton Beasley; one granddaughter Kelsey Davis and another granddaughter due in June, Anecia Smith. He is also survived by his brothers Michael Klauder and his wife Gloria of Cleveland, MS, and Thomas Klauder and his wife Sandy of Canton, MS. A special friend and first wife, Lois Klauder of Loudon, TN also survives him.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Josephine Weatherton Messer
Josephine Weatherton Messer, a 27 year resident of Austin, TX died there on March 22, 2004. She was born in Stuttgart, AR on February 13, 1914 to Joseph Bernard and Caroline May Moore Weatherton.
She grew up in Little Rock, and graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1931, attended Little Rock Jr. College, Carson Newman College (TN), and Portland State College (OR). She was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church and a member of Thankful Hubbard Chapter, DAR, of Austin. In following her husband's career as a mining engineer, Mrs. Messer lived in Bauxite, AR; Hillsboro, OR; San Francisco, CA and Butte, MT prior to Austin.
Mrs. Messer was preceeded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ernest Messer and by a daughter, Elizabeth Ossorio. She is survived by a sister, Carolyn Weatherton of Austin; a son, Paul Messer of Laguna Woods, CA, daughters, Martha Barker of Boerne, TX, and Mary Messer of Austin; and by six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, plus several nieces and nephews.
Private burial arrangements at Roselawn Memorial Park are by Ruebel Funeral Home.
Anne Bailey Morgan
Anne Bailey Morgan, age 78, of Little Rock, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 28, 2004. Anne was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Winston T. Morgan, Jr., her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Frank James Bailey and her sister Eloise McCombs.
Mrs. Morgan was a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral and an active member of the International Order of St. Luke, the Arkansas Cancer Research Guild and in the Caring Hearts Ministry at Trinity. She was a dedicated member of the Community Bible Study and Bible Study Fellowship.
Survivors are two sons, Steve and Mark Morgan; a daughter, Joan Bachman; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of friends and family.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral with burial in Roselawn Memorial Park under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.
Eugene Newsom
Eugene Newsom, 92, of Little Rock died Monday, March 8, 2004. He was born August 19, 1911 in Paragould to the late Gene and Helen Donaldson Newsom. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jamie W. Newsom, in August 2000.
Mr. Newsom was a U.S. Army Signal Corp Officer in World War II and had extensive experience in code breaking during that conflict. He returned to Little Rock after the war and operated Mid-South Opinion Surveys, doing political polls for several governors and congressmen in Arkansas politics. He maintained an active interest in farming throughout his life. He had a life-long love for fine literature and classical music and passed that on to his family. He was also an author with numerous magazine articles to his credit.
He is survived by two sons, Philip Newsom and his wife Susan of Memphis, TN, Gene Newsom of Little Rock; and two grandchildren, Jaime and Emily Newsom.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at the Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Linwood cemetery in Paragould at 3:00 p.m.
Deany Noto
Deany Noto, of Little Rock, passed away suddenly and peacefully at her home Saturday, February 28, 2004. She was born in Chicago, IL, Dec. 22, 1924. She was happily married
to Peter Noto for 54 years. They met through correspondence during his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter and infant son, Gerard.
She is survived by son, Tony Noto and his wife Bobbie; daughter, Donna Diaz and her husband Wayne; daughter, Paula Asaff and her husband Coby; son, Terry Noto and his wife Tonya; daughter, Michelle McCalman and her husband Scott; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother, Bert Laarveld; sister, Dolores Sokolnik; sister, Barbara Ouimette; and sister, Fran LeStonga.
Deany was a loving mother, devout Catholic and true friend. She enjoyed gardening, watching birds and tending her water garden. Family vacations and Saturday night Scrabble games will never be the same.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at the Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel, led by Father Frank Vu.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis or a charity of the donor's choice.
Floyd M. Overton, Jr.
Floyd M. Overton, Jr., 80, of Little Rock passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2004. He was born in Little Rock, the beloved son of Ivah and Floyd M. Overton, Sr. Floyd was a 1941 graduate of Little Rock High School (now Central High). He was very active and successfully involved in sports. He played for the St. Louis Browns and always treasured his baseball glove. He was a Demolay and a member of the Pulaski Heights Masonic Lodge. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.
The U.S. Navy transported him to San Diego where he stayed until he returned to Little Rock in June, 2002. His parents eventually moved to San Diego to be close to him, returning here upon death to be buried in Roselawn Memorial Park.
Floyd attended Little Rock Jr. College and received a degree from Arkansas Law School. He completed his college degree at San Diego State University and also continued with law school receiving a doctorate of law degree from Western State School of Law in California. He worked as a volunteer for the Area Agency on Aging helping seniors of San Diego County.
He was a great comedian and entertained seniors in nursing homes and at senior centers. He was treasurer for the El Cajon/La Mesa AARP and served as the Master of Ceremonies for the San Diego AARP Rally Days in Balboa Park. As a comedian, he was known as "Buddy Southern". Until three years ago he was active in Senior Bowling League. He was a member of the United Commercial Travelers for close to 50 years.
Floyd always was a loyal Little Rock High Tiger. He returned for many high school reunions where he enjoyed taking pictures of the attendees. His Little Rock friends remember him for his singing, dancing and piano playing. He was an extremely versatile person.
Floyd will be missed by his surviving wife, Eleanore, of 39 years and his first cousin, A.J. Smokey Stover.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Roselawn Memorial Park.
