Patsy Sue Ellis
Patsy Sue Ellis, age 84, of Little Rock, died August 11, 2002, at St. Vincent Infirmary. She was born Aril 24, 1918, in Fordyce, Arkansas to the late Lesley Wolbridge and Mattie Lee Ferres. Patsy was chief receptionist and secretary for her brother-in-law, Ike Murry while he was Attorney General. She was Governor Orval Faubus' chief aide and secretary during his 12-year tenure. Patsy was such a popular political asset that Governor Winthrop Rockefeller asked her to help him initiate his term in office.
She is survived by her husband Charles S. Ellis of Little Rock, sister-in-laws Muriel Samuels of Fordyce Janis Ellis of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, Mary Morton of Florida, nieces Stephanie Thomas of Georgia, Ginger Murry of Little Rock, Marguerite Dory and husband Russ of Cabot, nephews, Michael Ellis and wife Denise of Southlake, Texas, Charles Ellis of Clinton, Arkansas, Larry Morton of Little Rock, Tommy Morton of Florida, and David Morton, along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her sister Catherine Murry and brother Howard Samuels.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.. at The Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Reverend Betsy Singleton with burial at Pinecrest cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church.

Catherine Sue Fambrough
Catherine Sue Fambrough, 61, of Little Rock, AR, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 16, 2002. She was born July 31, 1941 in Chicago, IL to Marion and Faith Stockton Mischler. She spent her early childhood in Kansas City, MO, attended elementary school in Atlanta, Georgia and junior high and senior high school in Shreveport, LA. She graduated from C. E. Byrd High School in 1959. She attended Northwestern State College in Natchitoches, LA and graduated with a major in Art Education. Cathy taught art in the public schools of Lake Charles, LA following graduation. She married
her college sweetheart, Delbert Jackson Fambrough on July 18, 1964. Cathy and Del recently celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary.She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother to her husband, Delbert Fambrough; her sons, David Fambrough and his wife Nancy of Plano, TX and Gary Fambrough of Little Rock; sister Madelyn Young and her husband Robin of Tupelo, MS and grandchildren, Lauren and Brooke Fambrough of Plano, TX. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Larry Fambrough and his wife, Suzanne, of Hammond, LA, her mother-in-law, Selma Fambrough, of Springhill, LA three nephews and nieces and three great-nieces.
Cathy was a wonderful mother, loved animals and enjoyed art, swimming, boating and other outdoor activities. A memorial service will be held at St. James United Methodist Church, in the Cottey Parlor at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 18. The family requests memorial gifts may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, 321 Pleasant Valley Dr., Little Rock, AR 72212.

Robert Mills Feild
Robert Mills Feild, of Little Rock, died Monday, November 4, 2002, at Arkansas Hospice, St. Vincent Doctor's Hospital of alzheimers and prostate cancer. He was born on January 17, 1921 in Little Rock to Russell Hunter and Mary Mills Feild. He graduated from Little Rock High School in 1938 and Little Rock Junior College in 1940. He served with the U.S. Army, Military Army Transport during World War II. He later received his Juris Doctrate from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1949. A long time member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, he grew up in First United Methodist Church, Little Rock. He was retired from Saint Paul Insurance Company and the State Department of Education, Division of School Insurance.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Irene Edwards Feild and grandchildren; Daniel Robert and Hannah Christina Feild and their parents Dr. Charles Robert and Christina Docherty Feild, Stuart Mills, Mary Kathleen, and Helen Elizabeth Feild and their parents David F. Feild and Lee Williams Feild, Rebecca Feild, John Hunter, and Brandon Edwards Camp and their parents Jean Elizabeth and Dwight Edward Camp. He was predeceased by his brother Russell H. Feild, Jr., and is also survived by a niece Reverend Nancy A. Feild and her mother Mrs. Russell H. Feild, Jr. of Metairie, Louisiana. The family would like to give their loving thanks to the staff of Arkansas Hospice Home Care, Doctor's Hospital unit, staff and C.A.R.T.I. of the University of Arkansas Medical Science Center.
A memorial service of celebration will be held Wednesday at 11 A.M. at St. Paul United Methodist Church officiated by Reverend John Fleming. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.

Norfleet Cranford Fleming
Norfleet Cranford Fleming, age 85, of Little Rock, died December 6, 2002 at Presbyterian Village. Predeceased by husband Lige and two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Fleming is survived by sister Lucille Batte of Jackson, Mississippi; brother Lynn Cranford of Greenville Mississippi; daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Neill Sloan of Lake Village; son and daughter-in-law Vic and Susan Fleming of Little Rock; grandchildren Caroline Sloan, Mary Martha Henry and husband Jason (and great-grandson Jay), and Ted Fleming, of Little Rock, Nancy Sloan of Jackson, Mississippi, and Elizabeth Fleming of Arlington, Virginia.
Mrs. Fleming was born in Seminary and spent most of her life in Jackson and Greenville, Mississippi, before moving to Little Rock in 1996. She served for many years as an assistant in the Mississippi Senate and was an avid golfer, with a hole-in-one to her credit.
Visitation will be at Ruebel Funeral Home Sunday, 2 to 4 P.M., and at Wright & Ferguson in Jackson Tuesday, 1 to 2:30 P.M., with a 3 P.M. graveside service at Lakewood Memorial Park cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock or Presbyterian Village.
Beulah Smith Flinn
Beulah Smith Flinn, age 99 of Little Rock, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002. She was born in Hamburg, Arkansas. She was the widow of J. D. Flinn. Mrs. Flinn was a past member of the First Baptist Church of Memphis, past member of the 19th Century Club of Memphis, and the Tennessee Federation of Garden Clubs.
She is survived by two nieces Sue Smith Tanner of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Lynne S. Young of Battle Creek, Michigan, one nephew Sam R. Smith of Little Rock, and a grand niece, Mary Hays Warmbrodt of Allison Park, Pennsylvania.
There will be a graveside service Monday, May 6th at 1 P.M. at the Memphis Memorial Park officiated by Reverend Tanner.

Lillian Louise Schum Gentry
Lillian Louise Schum Gentry, age 77, died late Tuesday (December 17, 2002), afternoon in Little Rock. She was born in Ivesdale, Illinois to Matilda and Beno Schum. Lillian was one of eleven children raised and schooled in the Catholic faith. Her husband John, sister, Jeanette Schum, and brother, Carl “Shorty” Schum predeceased her.
Lillian left school early to help provide for her younger siblings. She met and married
John Gentry in 1942. She was a military wife and lived many places with her husband, making friends easily at the different stations of duty. She and her husband adopted their only daughter and child, Beverley (Bobbie) while stationed in Germany. Her role as mother and wife gave her great joy and she devoted herself to this endeavor. Lillian loved to cook for family and friends. She was a devoted grandmother and delighted in being with her grandchildren. She lovingly embroidered crib blankets for each child, giving them lasting keepsakes.
Lillian was devastated when her “Johnny” died nine years ago. She suffered as a widow from grief as well as chronic illnesses, the ravages of aging, and physical disabilities. She voiced little complaint throughout her years of struggle.
Mrs. Gentry is survived by one child, Beverley Foster and her husband Doak, and her beloved grandchildren Annie and Joseph all of Little Rock. Eight remaining siblings, as well as many nieces and nephews, also survive her.
Heartfelt thanks to her devoted in home caregiver Bonnie Brand and long term caregivers and nurses that loved her as their own. Mrs. Gentry was cared for during her last years by compassionate physicians, Dr. Sue Ulmer and Susan Santa Cruz. Her family was blessed by their presence.
Having received her last sacrament and being in spiritual peace, Lillian will be cremated and interred with her husband in the National cemetery in Springfield, Illinois where a private memorial service will be held at a later time.

William "Bill" George, Sr.
William "Bill" George, Sr. age 83 of Little Rock died August 8, 2002. He was the retired Executive Director of the Housing Authority of the city of Little Rock, Arkansas. Employed by the Housing Authority in June, 1962 as Business Relocation Officer to implement the Central Little Rock Urban Renewal Project, the 10-year $25 million federal-city effort to revitalize the entire downtown. The successful project subsequently served as the catalyst for over $150 million of new development in downtown Little Rock in the 1960s. Later promotions to Operations Coordinator and Urban Renewal Officer led to appointment in March 1978 by the Board of Commissioners to Executive Director and Secretary to the board, until his retirement in July 1986.
A 23-year U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. George enlisted in 1937 and served continuously on active duty, including World War II and Korea until August I, 1960. He retired at the Pentagon as Chief Warrant Officer while serving as administrative officer on the staff of World War II hero, Admiral Arleigh Burke, then Chief of Naval Operations. An officer on Staff of Commander Task Group 7.3 the U.S. Navy arm of the Atomic Energy Commission conducting tests of nuclear devices in the Eniwetok-Bikini atolls in the South Pacific Ocean, Mr. George was a participant in over 30 multi-megaton detonations during 1956 operation REDWING and 1958 operation HARDTACK. His awards for military service included the Commendation Ribbon with Metal Pendant and Combat Distinguishing Device; U.S. Navy Good Conduct Metal with 3 stars; European-African Campaign Metal with 3 bronze stars; Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Metal with 4 bronze stars; China Service WWII Occupation Metal; American Defense Metal with "A" Clasp; World War II Victory Metal; World War II Occupation Metal; Korea Service Metal with 3 stars; Korea Presidential Unit Citation; United Nations Metal for Korea Service; Philippine Liberation Metal with 2 bronze stars; and Philippine Presidential Unit Citation.
Mr. George was a 25-year member of the State, Regional and National Association of Housing and Urban Development Officials. He was honored by the Association in 1986 by award of the Distinguished Service Plaque and in 1999 was inducted into the Arkansas Housing "Hall of Fame" sponsored by the Arkansas Chapter of S.W. N.A.H.R.D. A lifetime Episcopalian, he served 2 terms on the Vestry of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral Parish and was appointed by the Bishop to serve as General Chairman for the 1987 Arkansas Diocesan Convention. He had served as a Cub Master, Assistant Scout Master of Troop 196 and as Neighborhood Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America. He was a former chairman of the water safety committee, American Red Cross, Pulaski County Chapter and a volunteer and advisor for Red Cross to the John L. McClellan Memorial Veteran's Hospital, with over 2000 hours as a volunteer. Other associations and service organizations to which he belonged included Navy Mutual Aid Association; Retired Officers Association of Central Little Rock and Washington, D.C.; Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 68;Rotary Club 99 of downtown Little Rock and Veteran's of Foreign Wars, Kansas City Chapter. He received elementary education in the public schools of Dubuque, Iowa. After completing a 2-year college GED course at the University of Wisconsin he attended the Arkansas Law School and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Adolphine Fletcher Tatum George of Little Rock, two sons William D. "Dub" George, Jr. and wife Sophie of Topeka, Kansas, David George and wife Janice of Memphis, Tennessee, 4 grandchildren, one sister Kathryn Hall of Las Vegas, Nevada, and 2 brothers, James George of Torrance, California and Thomas George of Tacoma, Washington.
There will a visitation today, Sunday, from 2 to 3:30 P.M. at the Ruebel Funeral Home followed by a funeral service Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral officiated by The Very Reverend Henry Hudson. Burial will be at Mount Holly cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.

Lucyle Rapillard Greeson
Lucyle Rapillard Greeson, 93, of Little Rock died in Ft.Worth on Friday, August 16, 2002. She was the widow of J. Allen Greeson a past Vice-President of Pulaski Federal Savings and Loan. She was born in North Little Rock to Modeste and Mary Heim Rapillard and was a graduate of Webster College in Webster Grove, MO. She served as past president of the Alter Society of Holy Souls Catholic Church, past president of the Pine Area Garden Club, charter member and former chairman of the Wednesday Book Club and charter member of The Twentieth Century Club.
Lucyle is survived by her son, Jim Allen Greeson, Jr. and his wife, Judy of Ft. Worth, TX, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Ruebel Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
James Knox Hamilton, Jr.
James Knox Hamilton, Jr., age 48, of Little Rock, died Sunday, August 25, 2002. He graduated from Parkview High School and attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He was most recently employed as a screen printer at Arkansas Flag and Banner. He is preceded in death by his father James, Knox Hamilton, Sr, who died in 1997.
He is survived by his mother Jeane M. Hamilton, his sister Martha Hamilton Pernell and husband John of John's Island, South Carolina.
