Deborah Stracener
Deborah “Debbie” Carol Stracener, 47, of Little Rock died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Royce Ellis, and her grandparents.
She is survived by her son, Robert Wayne Bean of Little Rock; daughters Racheal Michelle Sory and Vikki Danielle Stracener, both of Scott; mother Judy Ellis; sisters Kathy Allen of Sherwood, and Karen Young and Sharon Nichols; brothers Bobby Ellis and Michael Ellis, all of Little Rock; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at Arkansas Memorial Gardens in North Little Rock, with C.B. Wilson and Lenny Brewer officiating.

Harvey L. Prowse
Harvey Lloyd Prowse, 86, of North Little Rock died Monday, Aug. 21, 2006.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Elizabeth Bradley Prowse, parents Andy and Margaret Prowse, sisters Lucille Branham and Clara Mae Boveia, and brother James Belton Prowse.
He is survived by his sons, Wesley Prowse and wife Hong of North Little Rock, Randal Prowse of Sherwood, and Philip Prowse and wife Paula of Maumelle; daughters Donna Black and husband Jeff of Sherwood, and Anita McCrary of Leslie; sisters Dean Butcher of North Little Rock and Wanda Sue Rawls of Warren; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24, at North Little Rock Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 25, at the North Little Rock Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Gravel Ridge cemetery.
Diane Pipes
Diane Pipes, 56, of Newport died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006. She was a secretary for the Arkansas Department of Corrections for 12 years and a member of Centennial Fellowship Church of Pine Bluff.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas Martin and Anna Grace McGinley Mabry, stepfather Gene Mabry, and sister Kay Rowe.
She is survived by her husband, Dwight Pipes of Newport; sons Shane Loetscher of England and Scott Pipes of Pine Bluff; daughters Lorrie Williams and husband Jackie of England, and Kristie Pipes of Sherwood; stepmother Mary Martin of Kirbyville, Texas; brothers Charles and Lee Mabry, both of Dermott, and Terry and wife Debbie, David and wife Donna, and Gary Martin and wife Angela, all of Houston, Texas; sister Cheryl Peterson and husband Terry of Houston, Texas; and one grandson.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25, at Roller-England Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Roller-England Funeral Home chapel, with burial 3 p.m. in Parker Prospect cemetery at Warren.

Maysel Edwards
Maysel Marie Smith Edwards, 82, of Searcy died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006. She was an active member of Rosedale Baptist Church in Little Rock for many years and First Baptist Church in Searcy.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elbert Leon Edwards; brothers Edville Smith, Chester Smith, and Randolph Smith; and sister Mildred Nichols.
She is survived by her children, Danny L. Edwards and wife Janice of Sherwood, Alice L. Housley and husband Jacky of Searcy, and Beverley Y. McConnell and husband Russell of Bryant; sisters Evelyn Moore and Loretta Beaver and husband Lindy of North Little Rock; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 12, in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Forest Hills in Alexander. Burial followed at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Cebert A. Richter
Cebert Amos Richter, 91, of Little Rock died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a retired Petroleum Engineer for Helmerich and Payne and Harper Oil Company, where he was a Production Superintendent. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death was his parents Amos Samuel and Clarkia Jane Skimerhorn Richter and a granddaughter Christine Eaton.
He is survived by his wife Jean A. Keller Richter; daughters Judith Dillon and husband John of Independence, Kan., and Hollace Eaton and her husband Douglas of Sherwood; brother Robert E. Richter and wife Virginia of Oklahoma City; and one grandson.
A memorial service will be held in Norman, Okla., in the fall.

Mitchell C. Stuart
Mitchell Cranford “Mitch” Stuart, 46, of Beebe died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jess and Nora Bailey Stuart, and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Bailey of Beebe, and Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Stuart of Tampa, Fla.
He is survived by his son Ben Stuart of Beebe; aunts Polly Simmons and Marie Hobby of Sherwood, and Icy Hubbard of Beebe; uncle Glen Bailey of Lewisville; and special friend, Terry Westfall of Gravel Ridge.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Westbrook Funeral Home. Burial was at Mount Bethel cemetery at Rose Bud.
Barbara Bryant
Barbara Bryant, 72, of Sherwood died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006. She was a retired employee of Southwestern Bell of 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents James Charles and Minnie Lee Bryant; sister Charlene Bryant; and brother Frank Bryant.
She is survived by her sisters Madie Fields and Marian Rogers both of Jacksonville, Sibyl Glover and Patsy Bates both of North Little Rock, Ramona Thompson of Lonoke and Martha Bowen of North Little Rock; brother Vance Bryant, of Austin; and companions Sissy and Skip.

Freda H. Cerrato
Freda H. Cerrato, 88, of Sherwood died Monday, Aug. 14, 2006. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, Altar Society and MM Cohn’s Million Dollar Sales Club. In 1943, she was recognized for selling more war bonds than anyone in the state of Kansas, where she worked for Beech Aircraft.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. Cerrato and a granddaughter, Carla Chalmers.
She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Chalmers and husband Glenn of Sherwood; son Carl L. Cerrato and wife, Brenda, of Plano, Texas; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; and brothers Milo Hamilton and wife Joyce of Sherwood, and John Hamilton and wife Frances of North Little Rock.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 17, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home.

James Daniel Jr.
James H. Daniel Jr., 74, of Searcy died Monday, Aug. 14, 2006. He was in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife Evlyn of Searcy; mother Mary Lee Daniel of Albany, Ga.; daughter Ginny Howell and husband Mike of Sherwood; sons David Daniel and wife Robin of Jonesboro and Jeff Daniel and wife Marla of Little Rock; seven grandchildren; and six brothers and sisters.
A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, Aug. 17, at 10 a.m. at the College Church of Christ in Searcy.

Max Young
Max Young, 80, of Searcy died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006. He was a retired timekeeper in construction and of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a very special friend, Lavaun Wilson.
Survivors include his brothers Larry Young and wife Betty of Sherwood, and Jamie Young and wife Sally of Placentia, Calif.; and sister Helen Young Bartsch and husband Chuck of California.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at Powell Funeral in Searcy.
Alma J. Bradley
Alma Juanita Bradley, 71, of Sherwood, formerly of Augusta, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006. She was employed by West Lake Nursing Home in Sherwood until she retired and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Williams; grandparents Will and Mattie Peebles; parents Clyde Earl and Mable Peebles Bradley; and sister Martha Earl Bradley.
She is survived by her stepson Dale Williams; three step-grandchildren; and friend and caregiver Donya Thompson of Sherwood.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Open Door Community Church in Sherwood on Saturday, Aug. 26. Interment at Augusta Memorial Park will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by Thompson-Wilson Funeral Directors of McCrory.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Neal Floyd of Sherwood; daughter Leann Floyd; sons Dan Floyd and wife Lynn both of North Little Rock, and Robert Floyd and wife Pam Floyd of Little Rock; sister Delphine Prodzinski of Jamestown, N.D.; brothers Albert Stampka and wife Jean of Winona, Minn., and Robert Kulas and wife Judy of Trempealeau, Wis.; and six grandchildren.

Billy Ray Cook, 57, of Sherwood died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006. He was a painter and of the Assembly of God faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents Nathan Richard Cook and Lillian Leone Owens Cook; and brother C.J. Weaver.
He is survived by a brother Cecil Owens of Jacksonville; sisters Pat Drake-Ervin of Sherwood, and Beatrice Green of Mena.

Wallis L. Benton Vickers, 91, of Griffithville died Wednesday. She was a housewife, a member of the Griffithville Church of Christ and the Northside Community Center Quilters.
She is survived by two sons, Don Vickers of Jacksonville, Monty Vickers of Mayflower; two daughters, Ima Lea Rainwater of Arkadelphia, Emma Jean Hayley of Floyd; one sister, Deon Carter of Searcy;; one brother, Merl Benton of Sherwood.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
