Clyde Hannah

Clyde Hannah, 82, of Little Rock died Tuesday, March 18, 2003.

He was a retired Baptist minister, a Bible Scholar, and a teacher.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Norman Hannah; two daughters, Barbara Buchanan of Conway, and Donna Haynes of Little Rock; three sons, Maynard Hannah of Little Rock, Bill Hannah of Little Rock, and Pete Hannah of Cabot; one sister, Bethel Milks of Ward; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was March 21, at Pinecrest cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Hospice.

Arrangements by Regency Funeral Home of Malvern.

Myrtle Maye King

Myrtle Maye King, 97, of Little Rock, died Sept. 28, 2005.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Clements of Sherwood, and Pat King of Little Rock; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Oct. 1 at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.
Arrangements by Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth.

Vivian L. Maxwell

Vivian Louise Johnson Maxwell, 58, of North Little Rock, died Sept. 28, 2005.
She spent her life working in various school districts and as administrative assistant in banking.

She is survived by her daughters, Eunice Emma of Sherwood, and Tina Lyn Hardister, of Benton; and son, Richard J Maxwell, of Laredo, TX; 10 grandchildren; and brother, Bob Johnson, of Midland, TX.

Graveside services were held Sept.30 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock.

Michael Shrewsbury

Michael W. Shewsbury, 48, died Sept. 30, 2005. He was a member of Christian Life Center in Little Rock. Known for his animal advocacy work with animals, both in Arkansas and nationwide, he began his career at an early age ending his career as the director of animal services for the City of Sherwood. He was vice-president for Spay/Neuter for CARE, and an honorary board member for FURR - two local animal welfare organizations.

He is survived by his wife Miriam; sons, Nathaniel, Ethan and Jacob; daughter, Elizabeth; one grandson; and brother, Mark.

Funeral services were held at Christian Life Center in Little Rock on Oct. 4. Burial was in Rest Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Christian Life Center Building Fund, or to Sherwood Animal Services.

Witthen D. Wilkerson

Witthen Dean Wilkerson, 75, of North Little Rock, died Sept. 29, 2005.
He graduated from Searcy High School and Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. He was a long-time employee of the Arkansas Gazette, veteran of the Arkansas National Guard and Air Force Reserve. A life-long Baptist.

He is survived by his children, Susan Daniel of Sherwood, Russell Wilkerson of North Little Rock, and Steve Wilkerson, of New York; and three grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Oct. 3 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Chapel. Interment followed at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Ron Brandon
Ron Brandon, 47, of Walnut Ridge, died Sept. 14, 2004, at his home.

Born in Flint, Mich., he lived in the Black Rock and Walnut Ridge areas most of his life. He was a truck operator for Pitzele Fertilizer for 15 years and was a member of the Oak Hill General Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Brown; and two brothers, Kenneth Howard Brandon and Monty Brandon.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Brandon; three sons, Michael Boyd, Sumner, Ga., and Allan Brown and Derrick Brandon, both of Hoxie; a daughter, Samantha Smith, Marion; his mother, Dorothy Brandon, Walnut Ridge, his father, Kenneth Brandon, Hoxie; three brothers, Sam Brandon, Hoxie, Ray Brandon, Kansas City, Mo., and Matt Gorecki, Arizona; a sister, Debra Colley, Hoxie; and six grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday at 2 p.m. in the House-Gregg Chapel with Royce Schanda officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Ray Brandon, Samuel Brandon Jr., Chad Brandon, Jody Woodard, Randy Brandon and Jed Brandon. Honorary pallbearers were Randy Gaines, Kenny Moody, Pete Woodard, Kenny Brandon and Fred Brandon.

Frances Irene Carter
Frances Irene Carter, 89, of Thayer, Mo., formerly of Imboden, died Sept. 19, 2004, at Baxter Regional Medical Center, following a lengthy illness.

Born Jan. 7, 1915, at Conway, Mo., she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Ikerd. She was a homemaker and a member of the Imboden Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Marie, Alice and Lucy; and two brothers, Henry Ikerd and J.D. Ikerd.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Carter, whom she married Aug. 15, 1937; three sons, Edward Carter, Marion, Mich., Wayne Carter, Battle Creek, Mich., and Robert Carter, Rowlett, Texas; a brother, Jack Ikerd, Boliver, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral is today at 4 p.m. at the Imboden Baptist Church, with Bro. Tony Clem officiating. Burial will be in Hope cemetery at Imboden under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home of Imboden.

Jay Etta Rowsey Clark
Jay Etta Rowsey Clark, 81, of Walnut Ridge, died Sept. 14, 2004, in North Little Rock,

Born Dec. 1, 1922, in Smithville, she was the daughter of J.Y. and Blanche Childress Rowsey. She was retired from AP&L; and was a member of First Baptist Church of Walnut Ridge for more than 50 years.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Survivors include her husband, C. Leroy Clark; two sons, C.L. Clark Jr. and Philip Clark, both of Walnut Ridge; two daughters, Rochelle Greenwood, North Little Rock, and Carolyn Kincade, Maumelle; six grandchildren, Carmon D'Amico, Jay Clark, Dr. Matt Kincade, Dedra Riggs, Ashley Clark and Corbet Clark; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge, with Rev. Jim Tillman and Dr. Bill Cook officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service.

Pallbearers were Jay Clark, Dr. Matt Kincade, Corbet Clark, Andrew D'Amico, Jess Manahan and Danny Rowsey.

Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 5600 West 12th Street, Little Rock, AR 72204; St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the First Baptist Church Day Care Program, 300 SW 2nd, Walnut Ridge, AR 72476.

Lucille E. Wilson

Lucille E. Wilson, 78, of North Little Rock died April 21, 2003.

She retired from Phillips Lighting after 45 years and was a Baptist.

She is survived by a daughter, Jean Reed of Gravel Ridge; a son, Wayne Wilson of North Little Rock; a sister, S. Jean Ball of Sherwood; two brothers, Harrell Bates and Steve Bates of Conway; four granddaughters; and a great-grandson.

Services were Wednesday at Roller-McNutt Chapel in Conway, with burial in Crestlawn Memorial Park.

Frank Lindsay

Frank Edward Lindsay, 85, of Sherwood, died Saturday, April 19, 2003.

He was a veteran of the Army where he served in Company “A” 108 ITB Cp., a self-employed carpenter, and was retired from Sterling Stores.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Norton of Little Rock; three stepsons, Thomas Newman and Jim Newman, both of Sherwood, and Charles Newman of McCaskill; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were Monday at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements were by Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, North Little Rock.

Paula Marie Johnson

Paula Marie Johnson, 61, of North Little Rock, died Friday, April 18, 2003. She was a lifetime member of Pershing United Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock. She is survived by her husband, Leonard Johnson Sr.; three sons, Leonard Johnson Jr. of Sherwood, Terry Johnson Sr. of Lonoke, Justin Johnson of North Little Rock; three daughters, Linda Stafford, Paula Heathcock and Crystal Andrews, all of Mayflower; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dora Collins of North Little Rock.

Funeral was Monday at Pershing United Pentecostal Church. Burial was in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Junior Doyle
Junior Doyle, 71, of Cave City, died Sept. 18, 2004, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville.

Born Nov. 1, 1932, in Saffell, he was a retired timber worker and was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church at Cord.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Ernest and Vergie Lee Mize Doyle.

Survivors include his wife, Louise (Lucy) Doyle; a son, Ernest Ray Doyle, Cave City; three daughters, Brenda Hammock, Cave City, and Gail Barnett and Denise Watson, both of Batesville; six brothers, G.H. Doyle, Moline, Ill., Jimmy Doyle, Eddie Doyle, Danny Doyle and Bobby Doyle, all of Saffell, and Jerry Doyle, Batesville; three sisters, Harmillee Huskey and Linda Smart, both of Batesville, and Lynette Melton, Cord; seven grandchildren, Shawn Hastings, Mark Hastings, Melissa Hatfield, Maranda Stiles, Adam Watson, Kayla Watson and Lucas Doyle; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday at 2 p.m. at the Philadelphia Baptist Church at Cord, with Bros. Jackie Pickett and Mike Ball officiating. Burial was in Philadelphia cemetery at Cord under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers were his brothers, G.H. Doyle, Jimmy Doyle, Eddie Doyle, Danny Doyle, Bobby Doyle and Jerry Doyle. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Greg Neaville, Dr. Tom Cummins, Dr. James Beck, Dr. Chris Adams, Shawn Hastings, Mark Hastings, Adam Watson and Lucas Doyle.

Jessie L. Cullum

Jessie L. Cullum, 80, died June 1, 2003.

Survivors are her children, Angeline Christine Waggoner of Carlisle, Joseph Hershel Cullum of California, Daniel Ray Cullum of Sherwood, Media Roberts of Jacksonville, Marilyn Sue Thrift of Austin, Glenda Jo Crane of Ward and Cathy Fowler of Hazen; a brother, Montford Nelson of Little Rock; 26 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Wednesday at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke, with interment in Quattlebaum cemetery, Bee Branch.

Harold Lee Myers

Harold Lee Myers, 93, Sherwood, died Saturday, May 31, 2003.
He was a retired salesman, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Little Rock.

Survivors include a son, Stanford L. Myers of Sherwood; a daughter, Barbara Jean Balliet of Elk Grove, Calif.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren ; and a sister Lila McCormick, of Springfield, Ill.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, June 4, at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel.
